| 11 weeks 3 days ago | Not sure how accurate this |
Not sure how accurate this study is. Cal is great, but better than Yale, not so much. I also wouldn't say um is elite in graduate studies either. Being ranked 7-9 for instance in law means your damn good, but Harvard, Yale, Stanford are elite (top 3). When ucla and cal are ranked above Yale, this thing becomes laughable. Really duke is That low too? No notre dame? |

Hahaha, I was wondering how long it would take for denard to sneak in. There is a huge difference in denard and trey, please let's give trey the credit he deserves without denard somehow getting credit. Trey is great, I don't know where he ranks, but he is the best player in college basketball, that's a big deal. He is among the top tier players to ever play here. |
| 12 weeks 6 days ago | Wanted to play d1 football |
Wanted to play d1 football and I was nowhere near good enough to play at Michigan, so I took an offer at Duke. Met my wife there, she went to law school at duke, I worked, and when she graduated she said do what you want to do, so I applied to um for administration in education. I didn't think I would get in and would have to settle for somewhere like Oakland, but I got in. Graduate this summer. |

Dorial Green-Beckham played against awful competition, so does Ty Issac, they both suck too. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | What is your point? D3 |
What is your point? D3 football in Ohio is as good as 90% of football being played across America.
No way Cam Burrows is as good as another D1 Db because he plays D2. No way McCray is as good as Gedeon because one is D1 the other D2.
We are screwed, of all of our Ohio commits, only one comes from D1. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | lol, ok, if you're not |
lol, ok, if you're not playing d1 football, might as well just not play because the quality sucks unless you are playing at St. Iggy, Mentor, St. Eds, Pickerington, Upper A, Colerain, St. X, Moller.
This is a silly assumption, because all of those teams aren't loaded with d1 talent the level of competition is not good. D3 Ohio Football is as good as 90% of the football played in America. Bring the state champs in Michigan over to Ohio, we will see how those loaded with talent Cass teams play against the best D3 squads. Ask Catholic Central what they thought of big boy football when they played Moller. Ask De La Salle how their game with St. Iggy went. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | Poland Seminary d3 playoffs |
Poland Seminary d3 playoffs in probably the best regiona in all of d4 with 17 teams with 6-4 records or better, including teams like Cardinal Mooney who didn't get in. Warren Harding d1 playoffs, enough said. Struthers finished 6-4 #9 in same region as Poland Niles McKinley #2 in region d3 Hubbard #7 in same region as McKinley Lakeside d2 school Canfield d2 school Boardmon d1 I'm not sure I follow. Michael Ferns I would say didn't play many athletes, but saying someone from d3 in Ohio who plays several good d1-d2-and d3 schools doesn't play good athletes, is like saying no one in Michigan plays anyone.

D.smith d3 player of the year Not sure I agree with the we see these guys at combines crowd. Lewis was drooled over by Saban, not sure why people are so low on him. Taco went nuts this year, his ceiling has yet to be touched. At weak side we have Clark, Mario, and taco. If we land Marshall, that may be the most talented and deepest we've been at weak side in a very long time. Did anyone actually watch poggi? Kid was everywhere in the all star game. Hurst was said to have had a very good all star experience. I think some are really selling these kids short at this point. You can't nail a super star at every position. Not realistic. You build from the inside out, as we a re doing, and sprinkle in good skill guys. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | Just to be clear, d. Smith |
Just to be clear, d. Smith played against 5 playoff teams and 7 teams with winning records. Not sure I would call that questionable competition. Biggest question, where is kugler? Rivals is embarrassing when it comes to rankings. |

It is the same on every Michigan board. People treat denard like their girlfriend. |
| 19 weeks 1 day ago | I'm not offended, i just |
I'm not offended, i just think your analysis is somewhat misguided, and your basic knowledge of basketball is very much lacking if you want to compare k and jb styles as similar. I have been to two k clinics and worked a jb camp while at wvu, they are not alike in the slightest. I rarely ever post or posted, the one time I did was during the rich rod debacle, and this juvenile point system led to negative points because this board didn't want to hear that rich rod wasn't a good fit. Very much a mob mentality on this board at times if you have a differing opinion. |

| 19 weeks 1 day ago | Having worked there and lived |
Having worked there and lived in Durham for four years, I don't think I have ever once heard that Duke has a reputation for being a dump. I'm not sure what circles you travel in, but if Cameron is a dump, so is Yost. Basically a fieldhouse just like Cameron, basically the same layout. I've been to Yost in the winter where the floors are literally covered in mud. I don't think dirt on the floors is exclusive to Duke.
A clear bias, probably so, having worked there. Thank you captain obvious. Having visited nearly every ACC arena, and a handful of Big Ten, outside of brandnew updates by schools like UM, what really sets others apart from Cameron? Size. What exactly constitutes a good college experience? Not sure I understand your comment. basically every team in America tries to immitate the crazies. I would call what the Maize Rage tries to do a much more "high scool" version of a student section. They have like two organized cheers. If you call having a packed arena every game, compared to UM's being half empty outside of the big games, than I agree with you, just vice versa on the teams. The offensive principals that K executes are much different than those of JB. K uses spacing (spread) and on ball screens far more than JB. K also incorporates a lot of UCLA cuts, 3-2 motion and two man game. JB uses a lot more flex cuts, hand offs, shuffle cuts, and 2-3 motion than K does. JB also uses a point system to determine a good shot v a better shot. Defensively K uses midline princpals, something JB does not. If the ball is more than two passes away Duke is always midline and dropped with the level of the man and ball. You don't see Duke players ever turn their backs on defense to the ball, the same can't be said for Michigan. Duke picks you up as soon as you cross half court, Michigan does not.
I'm not hurt by any of your comments, I just wanted you to explain why you felt it was "a dump". I am partial to Duke because I worked there, my wife went there, and I have had a lot of experiences their. Nothing more. Michigan is still my team.
Again, I will wait to make any judgement on Michigan until they play someone. I don't think I can rank them above Duke based solely on the fact that Duke has beaten some very good teams. Meanwhile, Michigan has beaten one team in the top 25, and had the luxury of playing them at home. |
| 19 weeks 1 day ago | Schofield was LG, not RG. He |
Schofield was LG, not RG. He played beside Taylor. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kugler starts from Day 1. From all accounts he was a flat out stud in the all-star game. |
| 19 weeks 1 day ago | My wife graduated from Duke |
My wife graduated from Duke Law and I worked in admissions for a year, so I am pretty familiar with Duke. I would refute the claim that Cameron is a dump. It is a fieldhouse, so if you're expecting to get all the bells and whistles of a newly remodled arena, than might as well not ever attend a game here. I am curious as to why you call it a "dump"? Because it is small? That makes it a dump? I have watched probably a dozen or so games at Cameron, never once has "dump" came to my mind as a word to describe it. Small, sure. Intemidating with students wrapping around 3/4 of the lower bowl in your face, yeah. The place is clean, not ran down, and has an awesome hall of champions; far better than Michigans imo. Interesting that you would call it a dump.
I would also add, that if you expect Duke to look like Michigan in terms of style of play, than no wonder you're disappointed. Even when Duke has great athletes, they play the same way they do every year. They sit down in a stance, put lots of pressure on the ball, play great helpside (midline) defense, and when the shot goes up they put a body on a man. Offensively they aren't going to wow you. They do a lot of pick and roll, two man game. They try and isolate you, get you to cheat over once they beat you, and either dump it into Mason or kick out to a shooter. I think you might be selling Sulaimon a little short. Of all the people you have mentioned, you've failed to mention him once. He is silky smooth as a wing, and can slash to the rim. I think he would create some mismatches with Tim or GRIII. The bench is a place I think Duke beats UM. Take out McGary, and the bench is not very good for UM. Having Horford back would help, but factor in Thorton, Hairston, and Curry and you've got real quality depth.
I think UM is loaded, but I will wait another 8 days to pass judgement on how good they really are. |

I don't root for Arizona because I am a Michigan fan. I didn't root for Florida when assistants went there, I didn't root for Iowa when Soup went there, I didn't start rooting for Harvard because Tommy wen there.
I root for Michigan, because I am a Michigan fan.
I will reserve judgement on how well RR will do at Zona. Looks to me that his teams still refuse to play defense, so until the day comes when they are winning with D rather than O, I will think his teams relivant.

This is a rediculous argument.
He didn't just go up and jam in warmups, the kid went up, one handed, hung in the air, and slammed over someone. That takes an incredible amount of athleticism. Will it translate over onto the football field, dunno. Spare us all the "he's 6'3, he should be able to dunk". |

| 27 weeks 20 hours ago | I love how OSU is being |
I love how OSU is being viewed as some sort of jugernaught now. Msu held that high powered offense to 17, purdue should have beaten OSU, cal was right there, Indiana was right there. To say if michigan doesn't do x, they can't win is silly. OSU will be the third best team um has seen, while um will be the best OSU has seen. Anyone who says um has no athletes, and suggests that recruiting rankings is their basis for this, instantly losses credibility with me. Demons would start at MLB for them right now, Ryan would start for them, roh would start for them, and kovacs would start for them IMO. Good for them, they have better athletes at lb, so good they they run like missiles to the ball and over persue majority of the time. |
| 27 weeks 2 days ago | This is a Michigan nation |
This is a Michigan nation problem, it happens on every board known to Michigan fans. It needs to be said because people seriously treat the guy like an infant child.
I'll be at the game Saturday cheering my tail off for all of our seniors, and I will cheer a little harder when Denard's name is announced. I don't want to face a lecture about why Denards feelings may possibly get hurt. |

OMG, what will Denard say, feel, do? They didn't mention Denard with enough emphasis, OMG, I better go hold his hand an explain to him he is loved. Good gosh. |

Not to go all track coach on you, but you do realize all the cass DB's can fly right? We are talking 10.7-8 speed from all of them. They have speed. Conley has nearly unstopable at WR for Massilon Washington. I have yet to hear anyone say speed is an issue for him. Blake is a good athlete all-around. Speed and athleticism don't seem to be a problem at corner.
Not really sure what your point in all of this is? |
| 32 weeks 21 hours ago | LOL at we didn't recruit him |
LOL at we didn't recruit him because of academic reasons. He has no issues, character or academic. He wanted UK all along, that was the only issue.
Only "attitude" issue he had was with his coach, hence the transfer.
We did try and recuit him, and he flat out told JB no. We took one swing, missed, and that was it. |
