Didn't see this comment before posting my own. I was fighting the air in jubilation and you could hear shouting up and down the street.

The stand from the one yard…

The stand from the one yard line against Penn State in 1993 would like a word.

I attended NMU (where the N stands for Knowledge) and love Michigan.

LSSU

They can absolutely hear the fans. Having played hockey for years, my favorite moments were shutting up that opposing fan. Bury their kids in the boards, score quickly, or just throw a puck off the glass an inch from their phallus holster. All in fun.

MSP has different types of posts

While most of their posts focus mostly on traffic enforcement , there are several that are "call taking posts" where they are not primarily highway or M-road focused. Cam could make a huge impact in the lives of children in these areas.

If they interviewed Molly

I may weep with joy.

Somewhere in the northern woods of the lower peninsula

Ted Nugent is sitting in a bow stand, clearing out shooting lanes, and shaking his head in disbelief. The song he softly hums to himself is a famous hunting tune he wrote for a long departed friend.

Show her what housing is available

Try www.grar.com or www.zillow.com and use zip code 49341 (Rockford). There is a dam on the Rogue River in the middle of town which is gorgeous, the schools are elite, fantastic golf is everywhere (Pilgrim's Run is exceptional), and you are ten minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. Houses in wooded lots are plentiful and affordable. The area has a lot of government employees living there and they are not shunned or bothered like other areas of the country. You'd feel welcomed.

You forgot seat cushions

That was especially endearing. Rather than fix things, Dave will probably work on finally beating Hollis in golf, because it really is all about Dave.

Technique and secondary moves

He really is a freak athlete, but that only gets you so far in big boy football.  He has an explosive first step, but he doesn't use his hands well and bogs down/gives up after his first move is stopped.  Not a lot of secondary moves/counters to what the lineman are doing to stop him.  Contain has been and still is an issue.

Hockey updates?

I don't normally log on and pos or neg, but for M hockey updates I'll make an exception.  We need mooooaaaar updates!

Had to sign in

Just to pay respect to the Great Blood Donor (He gave, just not his). Your handle is tremendous, sir.

Make it slow and painful

Dogging a former player is bad enough, but then trashing his coaching without providing any explaination for a lack of faith in his abilities to teach young athletes is beyond the pale. Even if Howard doesn't read this board, showing a modicum of respect is the expected standard.

Tragedy

The wind is always hard to judge, but a big gust is all it takes to turn "routine" into a tragedy. Those 19 were elite. For them to all get flashed over means something freakish happened. God bless all my brothers and sisters who place themselves in the path of danger. Two in, two out, and be safe.

AIRBHG comes from the Iron Islands?

That which is dead can never die.

If it makes a Sports Center highlight

You get free usage for life. I was chuckling to myself as I scrolled down the page waiting for it. "Who's got the bomb? Terrell's got the bomb!"

MGOSOFTBALL asleep at the wheel?

Great news about the team, and even better news that they have created their own following here. How many sports sites have a dedicated group of softball junkies?

Real dick move, Lahey.

How can you say that without adding a picture or a link so that the unwashed masses can also bask in her glory? Also, great call. She's ridiculous.

Gholston went to Southeastern

Unless I'm mistaken.

Trevor and Corey

They see you hating.

UCONN loves hip hop?

Are these in response to the popular Thriftshop song? "What you know about rocking the wolf on your noggin?" My daughter is getting a time out for my knowing a line from that song.

Best water tower ever

Remarkably close to Beaver Lick, Sugartit, and the Big Bone Lick! Yes, I did plan a vacation around that.

Marrying athletes has drawbacks

They never hesitate to call you out when you try to show off your prowess in their sport. Also, their b.s. meter is usually excellent and "no, dear, I still don't think you can hit me" will be uttered. My wife having a better batting average WHILE PREGNANT never comes up during coed softball. Ever. Good luck with that.

Kris Frost

He would have been a huge pickup. We were the favorite for awhile. I think he was in Hart's class.

That has to be great

I've been dreaming of taking my babies out since they were born. The wife threw me some apprehensive looks when they got shotguns on their first birthdays, but watching them gut their pumpkin deer every year makes her laugh. I bet watching your child harvest one is one of those teary eyed, chest thumping moments we all live for. Congratulations.

I bought a crossbow

Two shoulder surgeries convinced me to buy a Parker Tomahawk. After watching my neighbor show me how to earn a scar and seven stitches, I learned to be accurate while keeping my thumb as low as possible. Yes, he was drunk and high, how did you know? The crossbow scope is accurate to 60 yards, and that covers my food plots nicely. Two eight points are routinely on my plots and pond, so this should be an interesting opener.

Lock the thread

Toddlers trump cats for sheer mayhem any day of the week.  You, sir, win the internets for the day.  I've never owned a cat, but there is no way a dozen furballs could equal what my little one can do with a roll and that evil little grin.

I think it also depends on how many prior games that day.

Look at a Gus Macker tournament for decent amounts of data. When my teams sobered up on day two (usually after an early morning loss), we had a long road to hoe just to get to the finals. There were more games to play than a softball regional, but it the data would still be comparable. We were never eliminated in the finals no matter which bracket we came out of, but that was a pretty good team. I'd have to argue that relatively even teams should see the better rested team win at least 85% of the time.

**Edit- This was supposed to be a reply much further up. Kids are not conducive to mgoblogging.

Tiny Jebus and TJ

Tiny Jebus came in when all hope was lost and won his spurs. I can't add much more to the exceptional commentary above on him. For any detractors to his game, I'd like to point out that the North Dakota team he shut out was likely the best college team since our 2007 squad. Kid didn't just win the game, he turned water bottles into wine growlers. He is my #1 pick.

TJ was one of the sickest stick handlers I've ever seen. He was the second coming of Comrie when Mike was a once in a decade type of player. TJ had the swagger and aura that made other teams fear him. His likenesses all seem to skate at Miami now. He was so good Brian referred to Treais(sp?) as a poor man's version of him. TJ is my #2.

How can you go wrong with any of these guys?

Magnus

Magnus isn't big on superfluous praise.  He calls a kid what he is and doesn't get all slobbery on someone unless that kid is a bonafide stud.  I read about a commit on this site and then run, not walk, my happy butt over to his site to see what he has to say.  Combining the two gives me a pretty good read on who we are bringing in and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

I think you are missing something

It just doesn't feel right seeing the word "mustache" when it isn't following "tremendous" or "glorious".  Otherwise, solid, solid post.

Sometimes it is better not to hash tag

@SittingBull  I'm coming for you and your whole family  #yourmomftw

Any word on J. P. Holtz?

He's a highly rated TE that just decommitted from PSU. I thought I read he was visiting soon.

If anyone knows how he feels

It would have to be you. It would be very interesting to see your take on this in another diary. That, and I now drink a Molson Canadians every time you post something just to get a better read on your perspective.

Or maybe you could follow the links from this page

That way, Brian and Mgoblog get some love/credit from the ad agencies for directing people there.  This is a great site that most of us spend a lot of time on.  The best part is that it is free.  The ads help keep it that way.  If you buy the book through Barnes and Noble, but got to their site by using a link from Mgoblog, he still gets the credit.

Since when?

Not challenging you, I just had not heard this yet. Link? Have A Seat Over There: Yuri Wright?

Awfully hard to riot when you are

hi-fiving your brah.  It looked like the players/fans were going ape over injuring Denard.  The only way they riot is if someone put a re-run of Jersey Shore on the jumbo-tron.

Great post. Look at our recruiting

The OL we are recruiting are maulers.  Kalis and Mags are the kind of OL who move people.  Braden is a huge kid with potential.  Pipkins is a big, strong, nasty dude who plays low and eats up space.  We tried for Sheldon Day, but struck out there.  Anyone who isn't excited to see at least one of Wormley, Strobel or Godin slide down to the 3-tech needs to check their pulse.  These kids are difference makers.

Hoke is building this team from the lines back.  Our LB haul is impressive and all four of them are hitters.  The RB for this class is probably looking at this game and thinking about how much we need a big back.  Hope you are ready for a large workload, Mr. Dunn.  Looking forward to watching you in spring ball after you EE and escape the insanity.

MSU's tackles don't belong on a 5-1 D1 team.  That being said, we don't currently have the talent at DE to exploit them.  Brown, Strobel, Wormley, Ojemudia and Godin are all going to have an open audition next summer and fall.  You want early playing time?  Show us a pass rush and you play now.

Blake Countess is going to be a star here.  The kid played tough all day and was not afraid to stick his nose in and hit someone.  As much as I have appreciated Floyd, his tackling is... Purdue level.  I'm embarrassed.  His coverage is much improved, granted, but Countess is the better cover corner in my opinion.  T-wolf needs to get healthy and shouldn't see the field until after Purdue.  Our safety play has been pretty invisible.  After the past few years this isn't just an upgrade in play, this is the second coming of Brandent Englemon.  Color me excited.  The next step would be getting impact players.  Mr. Thomas, just how early can you graduate?

The B1G Ten is Dr. Alphonse Mephesto and Minnesota is Kevin

He does exist, but we kinda don't want to acknowledge the fact.  Thanks, Primus, for blowing our cover.  Do I get the bonus points since Kevin is a squirrel-type creature in origin?

Minnesota is Kenny to our Stan

Think in the early years of South Park.  Yes, Old School South Park.  They tragically die in almost every episode for no rhyme or reason and are devoured by rats (Sparty, FCS schools) to add insult to injury.

In an alternate universe brought to us by the creators of South Park, Minnesota is the Sancho to our Orgazmo (I wouldn't youtube that one if I was at work) from the religious comedy Orgazmo.  If you haven't seen that movie by now you should slap yourself and question your own existence.

He was a good player despite the injuries

He was the kind of player who gave everything he had despite the pain.  I don't know how anyone could not respect a guy like that.  Like Kerrigan at Purdue, I'm glad he's no longer playing, but I'd gladly stand and clap him off the court.  Reminds me of Mike Martin.

I love Brian's UFR

I also love what you do with it.  Seriously, why aren't you working for Mgoblog at least in a part-time capacity?  Your insight is one of the reasons I read the comments.  Strong work on TTB as well.

Does it seem like Borges is just trying out plays?

It almost looks like he is running an open audition for whatever works.  There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to what he is running against teams we should dominate.  We don't seem to be running the combo routes like last year or the stretch play that predicates the stretch PA.  Every Pop Warner team in America that runs an option has a couple of fullback dives to keep the D honest.  We aren't even trying the stretch equivalent.

I'm not getting my hopes up either,

but this isn't a normal package deal between friends.  This is a close family that has grown up playing ball together and wanting to do it at the college level.  I like reading all of the posts back and forth on Dunn.  They remind me of the Abraham Lincoln quote about the chicken being the wisest of all the animals because she only cackles after she has laid an egg.  I'd be nervous if I were a buckeye.  Something says Jim Lahey is dead nuts on.

Have you been to the Upper Peninsula?

Canada, Michigan's itch that won't go away.  Especially when you leave the Soo.

Western is a good program

They should have followed Northern.  Good luck getting your face kicked in by the Fighting *Name Redacted* and their friends.

I think one of the services has Boehm #1

I think one of the services has Boehm as the #1 guard in the country.  That matchup is going to be Pipkins' warmup for Alabama next year.

NMU Blue

Muppets.  Sweet, beautiful, magical muppets.  Thank you, 8 lb. 6 oz. baby Jesus.

Wouldn't "Brian Kitty" have long hair?

Or if that was a jab at the Mauve Marauder, not a self kitty portrait, then at least a visor and some blush are needed for our feline friend.
