The Decision Dates of Our Recruits

Submitted by hart20 on

I decided to compile a chart listing when all of our recruits plan on making their decisions. Here it is:

Recruit Decision Date
Jehu Chesson December 21st or 22nd
Jordan Diamond February (National Signing Day)
Bri'onte Dunn By the end of December (Early Enrollee)
Joshua Garnett January 25th or 26th
Zach Banner January 14th
Jordan Payton Unknown. Visiting Cal on December 9th. Likely to take his time making a decision.
Darius Powe January 5th at the Under Armour All-American game.
Yuri Wright January 7th at U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Note: Decision date may be moved back. Tentative official visit to Michigan scheduled on January 13th. (Thanks, Waggles)
Monty Madaris Unknown. Taking official to Michigan in early January, decision likely sometime after that.
Taylor McNamara Late December or early January. Possibly January 7th at the U.S. Army All American Bowl.
Alex Kozan By the end of December.

All dates reflect what the recruit has most recently stated, to the best of my knowledge.

Assuming we don't get McNamara, I would rather just get P. Brown's signature than recruit a new tight end.

I also don't think a sixth (seventh if you count A.J. Williams) O-Lineman would be useful unless we get Garnett. If that dude wants to sign up, you take him.

Can I ask why diggs has disappeared as of late? He seemed very promising and the whole countess thing was looking good. Then he takes a visit to cal and poof he's no longer on our radar?

Anybody have any concrete evidence anything has changed? Last I heard he was talking us up as likely one of his five officials. We're obviously in his top 8, and I also haven't heard he has any specific leader. Does anybody know something I don't?

Were in the same boat. I was told over on espn that a coach showed up to his school last week but he was gone at cal. Nothing terrible. I think everyone is in the boat that chesson is ours and will commit before and take his spot. How don't you save a spot for a kid like this though? If we miss dunn i think he would be the next priority? Right?

for Diamond. If he is waiting until February he will have to look elsewhere. To be honest, I would much more prefer Garnett or Banner, assuming either of them is an option. There is also Boehm, the center. I don't know enough about Kozan. He is a border-line 4-star on ESPN, a 4-star on Rivals, and a 3-star on Scout. Scout is knocking him on his pass blocking ability.

taking the time to gather the information and posting the same.  Other than a possible newly recruited tight end,  the rest of the class will come from this group.

I think three of our last four recruits come off of this list and number four comes from a new prospect and yes......might only be a three star.  All in all the class will round out nicely.  Much like going 10-2, most people didn't expect this kind of recruiting success this year.

Well Done.  Now I just need to remember this post so I don't create one in three weeks asking when our targets are announcing.

Is Greg Garmon not being recruited hard enough (or looking at us enough) to not be on this list? We really need at least one running back and if Bri'onte doesn't make the right call, pickings look slim.

My top 4 left would be Garnett, Chesson, Wright, and either JP Holtz from Penn State or McNamara.  Honestly I'm not as high on Dunn as everyone on the board.  I would definitely take him if available, but even if we don't, there are some interesting options next year that we have a shot at.  Garnett is the biggest piece left on our board IMO.  If we have a line of Garnett, Kalis, and Magnuson, and a QB in Shane Morris, it doesn't matter who is running the ball, the are going to get some yards.

So we should update this shinanigans. Dunn said yesterday in an interview that he was actually not an EE anymore so we have a couple more weeks of DRAMA!!! WOOOO.
