Not sure this counts, but it's still a funny story.
I was in a McDonald's over the weekend and I was wearing a Michigan shirt. The guy working behind the counter started aggressively asking me if I was a Michigan fan. I told him, "Yes and a graduate." He responded with "O-H!" including the arm motions.
My husband was with me and the worker asked him if he was a Michigan fan, too. Husband replied, "Yeah and I received two degrees from Michigan." The employee responded with, "Yeah? Well I got THREE from THE Ohio State University."
Then we all just kind of stood there in silence taking in the fact he was working at McDonald's as a college graduate. Guess that OSU degree just takes you places.

I really just appreciate that authenticity of the actual bar architecture at Conor's. It's not just a bar dressed up in Irish crap with an Irish sounding name. I was always impressed they built it in Ireland then imported the parts of the bar to Ann Arbor. I always feel a little transported when I step through the doors. And I guess it's more of a restaurant than a bar, but they have good food. Always been a fun place to watch the World Cup, too. Plus, it's pretty nice sitting outside Conor's on Main Street on a nice day to me.

Lots of teams overinflate or underinflate balls in football.. at least college football it happens ALL THE TIME. Rules are more strict in NFL but I'd guess a lot of players are probably thinking, "Yeah, it's illegal but everyone does it."
For the record, I am not a Pats fan. I am not even an NFL fan.

Why does Illinois consider us their rival? Do they know we don't consider them even remotely to be a rival?

Only one manager gets a scholarship for 1/2 of ONE semester tuition paid. They also must be a field (not equipment) manager as equipment managers are employees and field managers are volunteers. To be senior manager you must write an essay and be chosen as senior manager. All managers get rings as all football staff do.

When you put 80,000 fans from any team in one place you're bound to have idiots. The whistles were annoying but we gave it away multiple times and still ND didn't take advantage and we still lost.

Ann Arbor Woods - it's off Stadium and the parking lot has stairs directly to Trader Joe's. We never had to grocery shop, we would just walk up there when we wanted to make something, drink beer, etc and buy what we needed. The apartments are older but still nice - since they are old there are mature trees and the walls aren't as thin. We had a 2 bedroom, nice but not luxury with a nice fairly enclosed courtyard to play with our dog, 30 second walk to Trader Joe's, you can walk to campus or the stadium in 20 minutes, and there's a park about 1/2 mile away. Being in a suburb is nice and quiet, too. Plus you can walk to Fraser's Pub. Everyone was super nice. And Huyge lived below us... totally nice guy.
Also it was 700$ for a 2 bedroom. If I moved back to Ann Arbor there's no doubt I'd move back.

Why does it say, "What will be the Big Ten's top offensive tandem in 2011?"
Pretty sure it shouldn't be asking for future projections in 2011...

1. Had Brandon hired a coach after the OSU game and then Harbaugh would have gone to the 49ers after the bowl, I cannot imagine how many people would be bitching about the fact that Brandon didn't wait to hire until after Stanford's bowl game to try to get Harbaugh. Now, because Harbaugh isn't in Ann Arbor, many are blasting him for not hiring in November/December.
2. While everyone wants to blame Brandon, Lloyd Carr, MSC, Stephen M. Ross, John Elway, Cher, SpongeBob Squarepants, etc., very few even want to mention that perhaps Jim didn't really want to come here after all of the unexpected orgasmic love from the NFL was poured on him, or that he wanted to stay on the West Coast because of family business, etc. No, no, no --- it is someone's fault. Someone in Ann Arbor. We know it. We KNOW it!
3. Brady Hoke is a bad coach and would be an absolute joke and embarrassment to the program. As opposed to say, having the 109th ranked defense in the United States of America. No, that wasn't embarrassing at all.
4. Now, if Brandon doesn't get Les Miles, again this is all the fault of the above mentioned culprits. There is absolutely no way in the world that Les Miles wouldn't be here unless other people poked their nose into "our" business and made sure he didn't come here. As Dotman said a while ago, people remember what they want to remember. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good hire. I'm saying that there is always more than what meets the eye.
I'm more pessimistic and resigned to the fact that things are going to be rather bleak on Stadium and Main for a while as each day passes too, so don't think I'm mocking anyone in particular. I just don't think we can automatically blame one or two people, one or two weeks, one or two coaches.
Jim Tressel was introduced as OSU's football coach on January 19, 2001. Maybe, just maybe, our "inept, incompetent" AD will get something done that we can live with. Otherwise, maybe we can form a posse and storm the gates. :-)
