Big day for Hoke today

Submitted by wresler120 on
Coach Hoke will be paying Josh Garnett an in home visit, which I believe is Garnett's final visit before he makes his decision on January 26th. It appears to be a 2 horse race between Michigan and Stanford.

On a side note Urban Meyer is going into Marlington to pay Michigan 2013 safety commit Dymonte Thomas a visit today. Meyer hasn't had much success pulling away our commits, and I don't believe he will be able to change Thomas' commitment either.

From this distance you can't be sure but I think Dymonte Thomas is about as solid as a commit can be. He's already Blue. Once you go Blue you don't go back, unless of course, you are a Boren.

Dymonte just tweeted:

"He despises a reprobate but honors the Lords loyal followers he makes firm commitments and does not renege on his promise #prov 15:4#go blue"

So I don't think he 's wavering at all.

Dymonte:  "Never!   I'll never turn to the Dark Side.  You've failed your highness.  I am a Wolverine, like many Ohioans before me."

Meyer:  "So be it.....Wolverine."

Hopefully, for Dymonte's sake, Urban can't fire purple Force lightening out of his fingertips.

Anything is possible with these kids but right now I say he's all blue.  It may come down to what kind of season we have and what kind of season tOSU and his cousin have.

On a sidenote...........If any kid was entirely committed, why entertain anymore visits from coaches.  I understand wanting to take official visits on campus.  You're 17 years old and you get five free trips around the country.....why not.   I just don't understand letting these guys into your home if you're not going anywhere.

I think this is a reasonable response. Dymonte seemed annoyed that people found out about Urban's visit (though somebody would have noticed Urban there) and Dymonte's beef with OSU was with the previous staff, not the new one.

Hoke will have to keep recruiting Dymonte.  Meyer and Dunn will keep recruiting him for the next 54 weeks.

As always, watch what they do, not what they say.  If Thomas starts showing up in Columbus as Brionte's guest, start getting a little nervous, even if he says, "I'm just visiting my cousin!"

I don't see him switching with the relationship he has built with the staff and Shane. These two kids seem to be the biggest supporters of what's happening in AA. I see this visit going like the Kalis phone call.

Can a recruit just to a coach "thanks but no thanks" when it comes to a visit? I think Dymonte will stay blue regardless but if I was totally blue, I would tell Urb not to waste his time. Kind of like Kyle Kali's did.

Just to be clear, Urban Meyer isn't really visiting Dymonte.  He's visiting his high school.  He's not allowed to contact him (unless Dymonte contacts him first I believe).  Urban is officially there to say hi to the coach and be seen by any potential recruits that may or may not be there .... or something.

I don't see Dymonte leaving for Ohio. I remember reading something on him where he said once you give your word then that's it. He gave his word to coach Hoke and that's final...

I hope
