Hey now.

Big is a masterpiece. As is A League of Their Own. Back off bro.

Start Touching

Hoke,

Let the touching commence... But done touch too much or your fingers will freeze.

Duke

Fuck Duke.

Pregame Circles

I want them to keep the pregame routine where they run in concentric circles in opposite directions and then someone blows that whistle and they all run into the center. That looked awesome from the stands and was very intimidating.

Either way it WILL

Either way it WILL define his term as AD.

His Tebow Contribution

His Tebow contribution was working on his delivery to help him become NFL ready. That is all that I have heard attributed to Loeffler from Tebow.

To be fair

According to DB, Les Miles never had the Michigan job offered to him - so he never actually spurned us. It would be hard for him to accept a job that wasn't offered.

The point is...

Why not make the ultimate goal the highest peak there is to climb , and then take it one step at a time, one game at a time?

Winning the B1G championship doesn't earn you the big money unless you win the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin won the B1G but didn't win the Rose Bowl. Auburn won the national championship and as a result made themselves $17,000,000.

Optimism is one thing

But blind optimism is another. Brian has said all along that he didn't think this was going to happen because Hoke was unqualified. He has been preaching this stance for the past six months and you shouldn't ask him to change his tune now. He obviously bleeds Maize and Blue - hence creating this fucking awesome site - and it's because of that that he feels so upset over Dave Brandon's decision and process. Brian is allowed to voice his opinion, and if nothing else we should all trust his opinion.

I love America but that doesn't mean I have to support every decision every President makes. Brian hopes just as much as I do and just as much as anyone that Michigan will win every game it ever plays from now until the end of eternity, but he can also be realistic about his projections and expectations. We aren't a bunch of babies who need to hear positive news. He shouldn't demean us by only saying positive things. Please don't censor yourself Brian!

Immediate Impact

While bringing in a nice DT would be great - we do currently have a very solid d-line. As far as recruits who could have an immediate impact, I was thinking Dallas Crawford was on the top of the list - given our current secondary. Hopefully Hoke will call him and plead his case.

Exactly.

When Brady Hoke was at Ball State was his immediate goal to coach in the Mountain West Conference for San Diego State? No. His goal has always been to coach at Michigan. San Diego State was a stepping stone on the way to his ultimate goal, just like a Big Ten Championship should be a stepping stone on our way to the national championship. Being a national champion is no longer a "mythical" thing. Just look at the difference in the amount of money Auburn brought home for winning it, compared to what Wisconsin got for winning the B1G. A national championship is a very tangible thing that should be every team in the BCS conferences goal.

Reason for that

Hoke's DC at SDSU "invented" the 3-3-5. He is the reason they ran that system, not Hoke. Prior to him joining the staff Hoke had only run 4-3 d's.

No we aren't

We aren't bringing in a coach that ran the same system. Hoke's DC ran the same system - in fact some credit him as being the creator of that system. Before he joined Hoke's staff Hoke ran a 4-3 pretty exclusively.

CONRATS

CONGRATS

Not enough for me.

I want him to be more explicit, just like I'm sure Denard does too. Does that mean moving Denard to slot receiver and running screen passes to him? Does that mean running the wildcat with him? Does that mean play action rollouts?

Hoke has never utilized a dual threat QB before so I think these are reasonable questions for him to address. Why is he bringing Borges with him in the first place? I'd like all these things answered ASAP.

If Denard Leaves Does Hoke Lose All the Love?

If Denard transfers, who gets pinned with all the blame? Hoke? DB?

Perhaps

I was being naive, but I was never too concerned about Martin leaving for the NFL. He isn't projected to go in the top three rounds - and if Donovan Warren proved anything, it's that leaving early can be detremental to one's career. It would have been a mistake for Martin to leave no matter who the coach was going to be. Obviously it's GREAT that we have him - but I'm more concerned about Denard, and not just whether he'll stay with us - but how will we use him. This OC really scares me.

Completely agree

He is a stud.

Not happening.

Sorry but this is not happening.

According to Jason Whitlock

Who seems to rank Brady Hoke as his favorite person of all time, with God a close second, Wellman is the best strength and conditioning coach in the country.

That game

is a must win for Hoke. Along with every other non-conference game.

I think

Today was a luke warm day.

For the record

Whoever the coach is, I will support them and the program 100%. However, it really feels like in the past week and a half we cut off our nose to spite our face.

You're right

This whole situation was sabotaged by the stubborn Michigan fans who refused to let Rich Rod have a legitimate shot at making this work. All along people were out to get him - waiting for him to slip up, and then pouncing on him for every little mistake he made. At the beginning of this past season if you had said Michigan would win 7 games, most people would have said "that's about what I expect" and Rich Rod's job wouldn't have been in jeopardy.

He should never have been fired. Our schedule is so favorable next year, and we have nearly everyone on offense and defense coming back. Next year was going to be the year. Our record for next season has already dropped from 10 wins to 7. If we hire Hoke and he forces a square peg into a round hole by starting yet another transition back to a pro style offense we'll be lucky to get bowl eligible... and we'll deserve the crappy results we'll get.

Dear God

Please let something happen. Anything. Literally anything. I just want some feeling again. I am numb to everything. I want to feel.

Ugh

Ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh... And so it continues. Kill me.

Thank you. And good luck!

Thank you for explaining. Good luck to you!!!!

I'm confused.

What's going on?

Crowton sucks

Awful coordinator.

I was scouting the Rivals 100

I was scouting the Rivals 100 last night for recruits who have yet to commit, trying to find players that had interest in LSU - but weren't from Louisiana. There were quite a few (some even had interest in Michigan as well). Hopefully Les might be able to convince some of these undeclared recruits to join him in AA... Any thoughts?

I agree.

Oh how far the mighty fall.

But...

LSU is weirdly and suspiciously fine with it...

Remember GERG

The only way someone goes from a Head Coach one year to a DC the next is if they get fired for sucking. Just like GERG.

Miles' Recruiting is Misleading

He currently has the easiest recruiting job in the country. Louisiana has one of the deepest talent pools of any state and most of the kids there have known they'd be attending LSU since they were five years old. Les has no other in state competition for the Louisiana talent. Look at his list of recruits - nearly all of them are from in state. The challenge at Michigan is getting people to leave home and travel 2000 miles (no pun intended) to go to school. I think you'll see when none of his current LSU commitments leave to come to Michigan that at LSU it was much more about location and the institution than it was Les Miles.

I agree.

If you remember back in 2007, the Rich Rod announcement came a bit out of left field. I think these things are never as easy slam dunks as they may seem. I also don't understand why it would take four full days (since Les Miles' Cotton Bowl) to contact and announce Les as our head coach if he was the only serious candidate.

DB could be trying to pull an overnight miracle with Patterson/Gruden before making the final decision on Miles.

This is like...

This is like your wife telling your mistress that if she's willing to take you, she'll buy the two of you a house. Very weird.

Who knows...

Maybe Herbstreit will break the news on national TV... again.

You're right

But... Winning a SUper Bowl will absolutely help with recruiting. Can you imagine Gruden walking into a 17 year olds living room with that ring on his finger?

No

Clearly, people weren't lining up out the door to come work for Rich Rod. In his mind GERG was the best option at DC and rather than actively pursuing a better candidate (which can't be hard to find) he decided to go with it - to the surprise of everyone including GERG. He could have done more by going out and trying to find a better candidate. His mistake was hiring GERG when he could have done more and put forth a greater effort to find the right guy to run his 3-3-5 defense.

Or you could say...

Or you could say that Les Miles is that girl who is in an abusive relationship with LSU and is always threatening to leave, but never does because LSU comes back saying "Baby I love you..." with contract extensions and $$$.

LesMiles is that girl who flirts w/ men b/c she craves attention

If Les was going to take the job it makes no sense to wait any longer than this past Saturday (the day after his bowl game). The media is assuming that this is his "dream job" and he'll take it in a heartbeat - but if that were the case he would have said something to that extent. If it takes a meeting with the AD to convince a former Michigan player and Asst. coach that this is a good job then it doesn't feel like he'll be taking it [via Harbaugh]. This feels more like Les using the spotlight and attention to make LSU and their fans that have been fickle in regards to him realize that he is wanted by other programs and they should start treating him better. It's like the girlfriend flirting with another guy because she isn't getting the attention she wants from her boyfriend.

+1

Amazing.

So much for my theory

That our new coach had to have the same measurements as Rich Rod. I was holding out hope that it wouldn't be Hoke cause he could never fit into Rich Rod's pleated khakis. Damn.

My apologies

Sorry for the posting accident.

I DON'T KNOW WHY IT POSTED THIS 80 TIMES

But I don't know how to delete them. I can only edit them. So this is the end result. Go Blue! Who's our head coach gonna be?

HAHAHA

Obviously the computer messed that post up. But yes, I am from Southern California.

Blah

Blah Blah Blah

I'm from Southern California,

Specifically Santa Monica (the "Home of the Homeless") and for some reason the clothes they always give away to the homeless people happen to be Michigan t-shirts. My guess is that there are just soooo many made that the Salvation Army inevitably becomes its own version of the M-Den come Spring Cleaning. Anyways, when I first got into Michigan I had so much pride in the school that every time I would see a homeless person wearing a ratty Michigan t-shirt I'd yell "Go blue!" at them. I once even tried having a conversation with one of them about the recruitment of Ryan Mallet.

Anyways, now I'm starting to believe that the surplus of Michigan clothing is in fact due to the constant coaching turnover... Damn.

and Congratulations.
