If he's a cop in my neighborhood

I'm not even jaywalking.  Imagine Cam Gordon chasing you down.

We are playing sophomores everywhere!

And our starting QB is injured and our O-line is average at best.

Everybody needs to chill the fuck out.

Last year's Iowa loss (choke job) and OSU ref robbery cost this team a chance at the playoff and big prize - we were a loaded team and that was our year.

Anybody that thinks you trot out a bunch of sophomores, an average at best QB (Speight), and a bunch of freshmen WR's (even though all will be studs once developed) and just start rolling is an idiot. Now we are down to O'korn behind the same meh O-line and down our best young WR (Tarkik) as well.

There was a recruiting gap when Harbaugh took over and we are feeling it on the offensive side of the ball this year big time- sucks, but it is the reality. Ideally, by next year we will no longer have rebuilding years, and simply keep reloading like other elite programs.

So if you were bitching about Iowa last year or the OSU robbery - I get you, I hear it and there is justification...there are times to be frustrated.

But to bitch about this year's team given age, injuries, recruiting gap, and cirumstances is pretty absurd IMO.

Don't forget

"accountable"

Go the European model....

Import a bunch of internationals and give them citizenship.  Let them go play in the best pro leagues (Spain, Italy, England, German), and bring them back for the national competitions.

Fire Drevno!

And Pep!  Unacceptable.  Somebody must be held accountable.

People complaining this year are idiots...

It's a young team with gap in recruiting.

We had much more to be disappointed about LAST YEAR, as we had a loaded team with senior talent that choked away the Iowa game and got jobbed against OSU.

Last year's team / performance in the Iowa game could be blamed on the coaches and was a huge disappointment---as well as the ref scam at OSU.  Last year was the year, and it didnt happen.

The next two years will be very telling about the true progress of this program, not this year with such a young team.

Youngest starting 11 in the country

on both sides of the ball I believe.

Stil managing to have a stellar defense (great scheme, great athletes)

Offense is shit - tends to happen when you have a shit O-line.

I think we will be just fine going forward...anybody with any football knowledge knew it would be a rebuilding year.

Defense is surprisingly futher along than I thought they would be (thanks Don Brown), offense has been a brutal struggle.

I'll say this though, very often, when these things click (O-line play, QB - reciever connections) it justs happens, and suddenly all your worries disappear.  It's often not as dier as it looks.

5 turnovers, shit luck, horrible weather, and still in the game until the very end....time to chill a bit.

I generally can't stand you

but you are 100% correct in this commentary.

We won't ever find a better coach than

Jim Harabaugh for Michigan.  There will be "unacceptable" losses as the entitled fanbase cries for perfection, but get your shit together.

Shit luck and/or officiating cost us 2 games MSU 2015 and OSU 2016.

Last night sucked and JH was outcoached...it happens...even the wonderful Urban and Saban get outcoached on given nights.  Harbaugh is a top coach and will soon start winning more of these games than losing - especially has his system comes together and games don't stay so close.

We need a fucking O-line and a QB - I'm quite sure he realizes what is lacking right now.  It wil get fixed.

Losing sucks, but grow the fuck up and realiz that JH is a damn good coach, but not the second coming of the messiah as some here were wishing.

Entire Defense

If we just had and average O-line and QB we would win the B1G.

Yes

1 of which is 1 of the flukiest games in history (the punt game) and today was a shit 5 turnover game performance.

And they suck and got another fluke win

yipppeee.  Grow a pair and realize how lucky the punt game was and how ridiculous today was between the weather and the 5 turnovers.

Yeah, its Dantonio's super bowl ane he has had a horseshoe up his ass.  Luck eventually runs out when the difference in talent level starts to mature as it will over the next few years.

Meh

5 turnovers.  Can't put that all on the coahing.  O-line play has been atrocious all year - can definitely put that on the coaching.

Lack of a developed 1st and 2nd string QB - somewhat on the coaching staff

Overall, justa shit loss to a shit team that got every break.

Penalties, turnovers, weather change, and outcoached.  Just terrible, but not all on the coaches.

Who knows...

Could be really bad shit like he went nuts and punched her and knocked her out ala Ray Rice and is a nut job.

Or maybe they had a heated argument and he did some stupid shit like throw her computer against the wall and scared the bejesus out of her and others in the dorm.

Both are shitty and wrong, but it's not binary, there's a spectrum to behavior here and we should wait to see what exactly happened.

We all lose our temper and do stupid shit sometimes...the question is how bad the action was and if the girl was physically assaulted.  If so...sorry bud, gotta go.  If more innocuous, maybe he gets a lucky second chance and learns to control his emotions.

All this kid does is

WIN!

So much win....love it.

Tragic and Very strange...

It seems these events are most often tied to adolescent rage/rejection, terrorist ideology (foreign or domestic), or a sociopathic individual finally obtaining the resources to inflict maximum damage.

For someone to go 64 years on this earth and then commit such a heinous act doesn't seem to fit the mold of prior atrocities we have seen like this.  Absolutely horrible and don't want to take away from the reality of devastation of the outcome, but I am very curious about the history and psychological probile they come up with on this individual.

So the devil went down to Louisville

So Urban's done?

So when will Urban Meyer

get investigated

Cue the RR apologists...

Can we not go through this "Rabbit's hole" again...hehe, see what I did there.

But really, both were terrible here, and are currently really bad at their current jobs.

RR was a great innovator as an offensive coach about 15 years ago, a tactition for a new system - the RPO spread, which others have adopted and built upon.  That's where it ends. He lacks in all other phases of the game as well as recruiting a well rounded staff.

Hoke is simply not a Power 5 coach and will continue to be exposed.

RR was fool's gold but very few of us knew it at the time of his hire.

We prayed Hoke was a diamond in the rough, but he was just a lump of coal.

Honest Question...

Looking for non-homer answers.

Do we have the best D-line in the country and if not who is out there that is better or even close?

I ask this because I know all our guys and we seem quite elite, but I am not that in tune with what other teams (Bama, OSU, LSU) have up front and obviously I am biased.

Taco, Hurst, Mone (hopefully healthy), Glasgow, Wormley, Gary....

I might be missing some other contributors like Winovich or Marshall.

It seems like 5-6 of these guys are legit NFL players.

Also, where would our secondary rank?  Lewis is obviously elite.  Is Stribling simply average or is he above average?  Losing Clark obviously sucks.  Where does Dymonte rank as a safety?

Just curious for some non-homer answers.

He'll be 4 star

across the board if he commits.  Good offers and the Harbaugh / UM bump.

Because starz are all that matter!

Remember "Iron Head"

Heyward.  I think "Iron Head" Hill is a good nickname for Khalid.

I don't wish long-term injuries

on any player.  But no problem when they are hurt for the game against us.  If JT Barrett got run over by a forklift, for example, and missed the UM game this year, I would quite pleased.

Meh

He's a good coach, not great.  There are only 3 great coaches in college football right now.

Saban (currently the man, did it at LSU, now dominating at Bama)

Meyer (won everywhere he's been)

Harbaugh (Built Stanford, was great in the NFL, all signs pointing up at UM)

You can throw out names like Herman and Petrino and Dantonio, but those first 3 are truly elite in all aspects (recruiting, strategy, managing the program, managing the brand).  All the rest are slightly lacking in one area or another.  Not saying they cant achieve great success or even reach the elite level, but I don't think it's a streatch to say Saban, Meyer, and Harbaugh are kind of in a different league than the rest.

Too bad nobody at PSU

was this concerned about the kids when Sandusky was prowling around "Happy Valley"

The grass isn't always greener

LSU may learn this with a new leader grazing the sidelines.

Channeling Chris Rock...

It's the medias fault, the media....

The media never ain't never sexually abused me.

Exactly

Especially when you add booze and guns to the formula.

RIP...horrible, too young.

Second time writing RIP, too young today...different circumstances, but always tragic.  Life is fragile.

Be careful all of you.

Enjoy every day

Way too soon.  RIP

No

His only value to this staff would theoretically be recruiting, specifically in the south.  But the type of student althlete recruited at LSU and UM is completely different.

See

Hoke, Brady

ND defensive coordinator

last the year?

How long a leash for their latest saviro Brian Kelly?

Urban Meyer, OSU, derp, derp

THe chicken littles will go in to hiding until we have another close game, then they will reappear to tell us why OSU is just in another league.

Another victim

of poor development under the Hoke regime.  Both Gardner and Morris had so much potential if under the tutelage of Harbaugh from day 1.

Great, great attitude thouugh...and what is a college experience if not a time to realize that the world does not revolve around you.  He apparently grew up to be a great Michigan Man (a term I usually refrain from using), but his comments indeed are those of a mature young man.

Meh

Not sure about this.  O-lines tend to get better as the year progresses as we saw with this one last year.  If the guys returning all were in the same spot as last year, I would be a lot more concerned.

Guys have changed positions, however, and I expect to see massive improvement as the year continues.

Nuance

does not work on the internet.  OUTRAGE! is the the only valid response.

The lack of self-awareness is absurd!

Is this a satire?

"He often uses extreme and arguably creepy measures to attract recruits (inviting himself to sleep over with an already-committed kicking recruit would be one such example)."

Ok buddy, I don't think "creepiness" is a topic Pedo State should ever bring up.

Or the one

married to a pedophile husband that rapes children in the basement for decades but still refuses to believe the parade of victims.

The Prophet Muhammad

Married a 6 year old and "consummated" the union when she was 9.  He had Enis beat by 4 years!

I guess it's ok if God talks to you.  I know, I know, different times, and not PC.

Kiante needs to start a religion.

Good thread....

but it should really be title "Who should we replace Penn State with...."

For all the Rutgers and Maryland hate, we all know it is Penn State that should be out of the B1G. It's a disgrace they still even have a football program.

From the beginning I was a wait and see guy, with what the investigations would bring out and "Let's not punish an entire community for the actions of possibly one sick man."

After the evidence of years of institutional coverup by Pope Joe Pa, and then the disgusting reaction of the community, fanbase, and latest "recognition" of the molesting enabler in chief, it's time to boot them.  It's no longer hyperbole or  a leap to say that this sort of collegiate community just does not belong in our conference.

On a side note, if you haven't seen the movie "Spotlight" about the child molestation coverup by the Catholic church in Boston, it's a great watch...and gives some interesting insight into how these scandals can develop and be perpetuated when the community does nothing.

And

get rid of child molester enabling Penn State.

Replace them with the Detroit Lions.

Replace Rutgers and Penn State

With Notre Dame and Texas.

Notre Dame (as much as I despise them) belongs in the B1G as geographically and academically it makes sense.

Texas...Also a strong academic institution, makes sense for both football and basketball.  Also opens up a huge market for TV and recruiting.

Imagine a conference with top tier football blue bloods...

Michigan, OSU, Notre Dame, Texas, Nebraska

Followed by strong programs like

MSU and Wisconsin

Keep Maryland because of basketball and east coast footprint.

Kill Penn State becuase they are a disgusting group of child molester enablers.

He's not here to write tickets, ok...

he came to clean up the mean streets and lock up the gangbangers, mobsters and crime affiliates.  If you don't like it, too bad.

Don Brown kicks ass and takes names.  If you want another paper pushing cop on the force, you're looking at the wrong guy.

Good call

He's definitely paying Saban for permission to be his human toilet.

Is it possible?

To pass out simple printed directions about turning the back to all fans as they walk in to the stadium?  I know it's a lot of paper and as outdated as the Pony Express....

Or is there digital way, besides this blog, to reach as many of these fans as possible before the game? Anybody have a crap load of Twitter followers or FB page that could reach people?

Matchups

Harbaugh and Brown won't be married to scheme, just results.  Will depend on style of offense (spread or pro), size of recievers, blitz packages, etc.  Both Strib and Clark will be playing a bunch and both will look much better with Lewis locking down the slot or 1v1 on the outside against an opponent with an elite outside reciever.

Cool burn

OMG, I offended someone on the blog and now have negative points...all my opinions in life are now devalued.  Ok, congrats on that logic.

Everybody likes to react to the latest game or recruit, but is it not true that MSU with 3* talent has managed to beat OSU twice in the last 4 years?

Is it not true that Harbaugh showed up at Stanford and took it to Pete Carrol and USC which was the dynasty at the level of current Bama of that era?
