Trump just said that…

Trump just said that electing Joe Biden will lead to those with pre-existing conditions losing coverage and will lead to the end of social security.

Were those lies?

Let's see - Trump is the one trying to void the Affordable Care Act, which Joe Biden's administration put into place and which protects those with pre-existing conditions.  He also has not articulated a replacement, despite promises.

Trump is the one trying to do away with the payroll taxes, which fund social security.

I'm not sure how anybody can believe anything orange guy says anymore.  It really is North Korea, and he is Dear Leader.

Thanks, will do.  My stomach can handle it, it was my liver I was concerned with.  I hate injuries.

I hurt my forearm/elbow…

I hurt my forearm/elbow golfing today (you know you're old when golf injuries are a thing) and its swollen and hurts like a you know what.  So no alcohol since I'm popping ibuprofen.  Just gummies.  Mindy's key lime.

I think I'm going to grab some Thai food for dinner after I lift (squatting today so not too much direct pressure on the forearm elbow).

Doctors - what did I do to my elbow??  And is it safe to drink while popping ibuprofen?

Welcome back.  More threads like this.

Hmmm.  Lets see.  Russian collusion vs QAnon.

Collusion: bipartisan report led by Republican basically says that Manafort colluded, Trump (best memory ever) couldn't remember the nature of his discussions with Stone, but because of a high requisite standard of proof couldn't make the ultimate leap of collusion.

Qanon: There is a cadre of cannibalistic Satanists who run the country, traffic in children for sex, and make pizza (and pornstar and Epstein lover Trump is the only thing preventing them from taking over the world).

Its close but I'm pretty sure I can pick the crazy...

That is a dumb conspiracy theory.  Unlike the one where the Clintons, Obama, and George Soros are Satanic pedophiles who traffic children for sex.  And make pizza or something.

Exactly.  Negligence is just…

Exactly.  Negligence is just that - negligence.  If somebody messes up some protocol, that easily could be negligence, regardless of intent.  Very few auto accidents are intentional (hopefully VERY few), but most or all result from some negligence.  And that leads to a lawsuit.

Run a red light, hit a car, get sued.

Mess up a protocol, get somebody sick, get sued.  Causation is a little more difficult, but using contact tracing and such can get you enough evidence to see a jury in most jurisdictions I would guess.  I am a plaintiff's attorney (employment law, not PI), but our firm does PI.  I'm sure we would seriously consider those cases.  Assumption of risk is not the assumption of the negligence of others.

Edit - we are not praying for these things to happen, for the record.

I'm healthy, not too worried about dying from covid although its possible.  I am concerned about long term heart and lung damage, though.  So, no, its not only about deaths.  I like to exercise and work out; don't want heart or lung damage.

Squat stands, a barbell, a…

Squat stands, a barbell, a vertical barbell holder, and 300 lbs of weights with a weight tree really don't take up much room.  I don't actually know how much room you have, but I use squat stands instead of a rack in my garage.  They can be moved and stacked and have a small footprint.  Vertical barbell holder is great if your ceiling is tall enough.

I use a doorway pullup bar and weighted vests (instead of the belt with a weight hanging) for pullups, and it works great and then goes in the closet when I am done.  Virtually no footprint.

Some dumbbells can go a long way, from turkish get ups to swings to overhead pressing to cleans and power cleans and rows.  Small footprint.

Yeah, I have squats stands,…

Yeah, I have squats stands, a platform, barbell, trap bar, football bar, GHD, C2 (model C) rower, dip bar, pullup bar, dumbbells from 10 - 75, adjustable bench, 24 - 30 - 34 inch box for jumps, 55 lb kettlebell, ab wheel and 14# med ball in the garage, and two 20# weight vests.  Pieced together, mostly from craigslist and Titan fitness over the years.

Workouts based on back squat, trap bar deadlift (old man style, with the raised handles), weighted glute ham raises, and power cleans for legs.  Lots of weighted pullups and various rows for the back.  Presses and dips for chest and shoulders.

I messed my shoulder up not too long ago.  I use dumbbells to bench now, and I keep them with a neutral grip, and press the dumbbells together over the middle of my chest as I go up and down.  Really eliminates a lot of the shoulder irritation.

Been lifting in my garage for a long time so Covid has actually improved my strength and conditioning due to extra time.

Happy lifting all!

Covid test results may swing some betting lines in a serious way this season.  If there is a season.

I'm not going to be doing as…

I'm not going to be doing as much of that stuff as I used to until there is some kind of handle on the situation - treatment, vaccine, something like that.  Even with treatment, I hate being sick and the symptoms look horrible and not something I am willing to endure if I can avoid it.  That said, it all depends on how the situation evolves; if, with herd immunity or vaccine or whatever else may happen, it comes under control (like the flu - not comparing the two as diseases, just their impact on my life every year), I'll gradually go back out into the world.  I always stayed away from sick people, wash my hands, don't touch my face, even before covid.

The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay.  Disregard the Disney Movie, read the book.  Although the movie is alright but clearly Disneyfied.

Also finished Wheel of Time recently.  Took me about a year.  Parts felt like a slog but it was rewarding.  Thought Sanderson did a good job finishing.

Speaking of, halfway through The Stormlight Archive and its great.

Also recommend The First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie.  Dark but entertaining if you like fantasy.

Hulu gives you a month free.  I got the free trial solely for Letterkenny.  It was so good I watched all 8 seasons in like a week (6-7 episodes, like 20 minutes each...its not a long show or season).  Canceled Hulu.

Maizeman Maizeman is LEGIT.  Been on his list for about 3 years and he is borderline prophetic.  Read his stuff, and reflect on it later this season.  I am positive you'll be impressed.  Nobody is 100% in this business, but he is as close as they come.  Truly impressive knowledge of the game of football, especially as it pertains to Michigan.  I will see if I can dig up some emails from prior to last season.  He was way ahead of the curve on a lot of things.
