I've seen two ladies fight harder for shopping carts at Meijer. It was a chicken shit sucker punch. Yes fighting belongs in the game. Quit trying to take any sort of physicality out of sports
Like to see LSU coming up north to Wisconsin, but i would love even more for one of those southern teams to play in a bow game up here or a late season game.
I've read all the graphic novels they have put out. Now would be a bad time to quit watching. They could easily have 2-3 full seasons of really good writing and action just to get caught up to the next part in the story.
Don't give a shit who starts. Throw the ball accurately. Make way more smart decisions than poor decisions. Have a stout run game with great intermediate passing. Our defense should be tough. This should translate to a much more enjoyable football season and still keep us competitive in the win column.
I agree 110% with this statement. For myself I would say that I'm fine either way if he stays or goes. If he stays we keep the best coach in the league and most likely develop some of these guys which could pan out for the best in the future. Or if he goes, we bump up Blashill and he either has some magic we don't know about with him being a fresh face. However, I could see the team dropping off a bit of Blashill is here. This means we don't make the playoffs for a couple years and we fall into that top 5 picks to hopefully get a world class player to be the new leader and carry the team like Yzerman did years ago. I know hockeytown is going to lose its mind if they miss the playoffs and I hope they don't call for Blashills head if it's a roster issue. We need to get a solid defenseman like a Hedman, Doughty, or Jones. We also need a top ten forward like Stamkos, Tavaeres, Toews to get back to winning a cup. Maybe we have one in GR, but if we do we cant wait until they are in their 30s to bring them up. IMO we should've traded Datsyuk and Z a few years back. We could've dealt either or both of them to a team that was close and compiled some draft picks as well as a younger guy who could play right away. I don't think we'd get as much value out of A trade now because of their ages and past injury bugs.
Agreed. I think that is the best thing about playoffs in any sport is that there is an abundance of ways to win a championship. Hockey especially though is always changing. When Detroit won most of their cups they were heavily leaned on European skilled players. The recent trend of cup winners have been more youthful teams that play fast and physical.
He got that contract because Holland is notorious for overpaying a lackluster producer from time to time. While I agree that someone like Edmonton could use Jimmy his play wasn't that amazing to warrant 6mil a year. Not the best goalie, not the worst goalie. Definitely not worth 6 million a year though.
ESPN is trash. As a Michigan fan though I'm kind of sick of hearing about this kid. He's decided not to play and that's completely fine, but there's been about 4 threads on this and I feel like it's unnecessary. Same way I feel it was unnecessary for Espn and deadspin etc to cover it as much as they did. The only story that should've came from this is that Michigan now has a void to fill with limited time.
How about better officials in general and less interrupted play with bullshit commercials. I get commercials are a way to pay the bills but you don't need one after every single possession change, extra point, kickoff, etc.
Jesus. If the guys in Green Bay, Chicago, New York, Boston, etc can play games outdoors at the same time I think these guys will be fine. Hell guys played a hockey game outside in January and in a snowstorm at the big house and the fans and players were just fine.
Lol. Well normally I'm ok with it but at the time I didn't check the rest of the thread to see if the joke hadn't been made a dozen times already. But I do get what you're saying this blog has had some interesting transformations in the short few years I've been on it.
Basketball and baseball are equally awful for me to watch. Basketball to me is a 'soft' sport and is made for pre madonnas. Some of the best athletes in the world no doubt but the sport is boring and nba being shoved down my throat year after year is hard to deal with.
Playoff baseball is tolerable but it's to much of an 'old guys' game. The season is too long and the games are to long and slow. Again really talented individuals but just an awful game to air on tv.
Hockey is my favorite sport and hasn't been relevant since BEFORE the first lockout. The red wings fan base(which I am part of) me nuts with their main focus being on keeping the playoff streak alive instead of on the 11 cups won and looking towards more cups. Also the blind faith in Holland pisses me off although he has made some decent decisions of late in my book.
The last two or three years of the nfl has felt like it has been fixed and predetermined. The players aren't in on it but officials and owners feel like it to me but I could just be wearing a tin foil hat.
Lastly I'm still nervous despite having Jim Harbaugh. I didn't post my loyalty to UM as a fan until Carrs last year. I'm still a faithful fan but I have seen nothing to ease my thoughts so I am really quite nervous about the results
I'm confused. Are you a huge Texans fan? Did you just meet JJ Watt and he bought you a bunch of drinks? I mean that's just a lot of research and time spent looking up info on another dude if none of the above doesn't apply.
If he's 35 I'm going to guess he's becoming very good at his money management. He's just entering the prime of frugalness and is on the cusp of some very good financial investments. This would be a no brainer for any coaching staff to give this guy a shot.
Well if karma is winning a super bowl one year and going back and almost winning another one than sign me up. I think he's a scumbag but the patriots pulled it out with come clutch plays at the end.
They need to just do a winter classic in the US and host a heritage Classic in Canada. The stadium series is over doing the whole thing and ruining the outdoors thing
Whatever keeps Teryl Austin in Detroit for another year is fine by me. Don't even know if he was interviewed but as the head coaching vacancies are getting smaller I think it's a possibility he's around for another year in Detroit
I live in the Saginaw area so I guess it's kinda interesting they would select flint. However having played in the Peranis arena, IMO the locker rooms are a dump. The ice itself isn't terrible, but I just feel like the arena itself isn't impressive and would need work to accommodate an OHL team.
