I love that this was alread posted - these were the photos I used when arguing against this same idea on the UMStudents livejournal community in 2005.

I'd love to take you up on this, but with two family weddings in September and spending Christmas in MI too, I just can't manage another flight this year. I'll be at the Utah game though!

My first memories of anything game-related were in 1994. Seth Smith's 100 yard KO return in 1994 was RIGHT. AT. ME. and I was out of breath from yelling when he finally reached the end zone. Also, I painted my face for this game, but accidentally used poster paint. My face was frozen in place with a maize and blue crust and it hurt to open my mouth.
The first game I actually attended was Homecoming, 1992. Michigan beat Minnesota 63-13. I remember accompanying my aunt in the alumni band on her march to the stadium more than anything about the game.
I've been at every Homecoming since, including several in the alumni band now. I moved to Seattle this spring and it's killing me to know that I'll miss it this year for the first time in 23 years.

Oops, forgot him and Drake Johnson. That's eight. Eight ACL tears!

So that's six ACL tears in the last 17 months: Countess, Wormley, Ryan, Bellomy, Pipkins, Butt. Is this a strength & conditioning concern yet? (I have zero knowledge on the subject, so it may just be the availability heuristic in play.)

Worth noting that the canned version of "The Victors" played was from the "A Saturday Tradition" CD that came out twenty years ago.

Chris Farah is a Michigan fan and an mgoblog reader. If you haven't seen "Answer This!", the movie he and his brother Mike produced with actor/professor Ralph Williams, definitely check it out. If you've been a longtime mgoblog fan you'll be rewarded with an obvious and appropriate mgoreference in the soundtrack.

I'll be there for the 6th straight time (first 2 were with the MMB). We tailgate in the Farm Lane lot and take the busses up to the stadium, and we've never had an issue. Maybe because the lot is far enough away that the tailgaters are a little less intense. Waiting right outside the stadium in line for the bus sucks, but it's been fine. If you get to the stadium about an hour early, go to the north entrance to watch the MMB parade in.

The new renovations are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. With ArtPrize going on though, all downtown bar venues are extremely busy in on weekend evenings.

We've been in the big game business since 2004.
Then in comes Big Game Hunter, known as a Big Game Hunter, shoot three-pointers like his name's Lindsey Hunter.

Fire David Brandon.
The most iconic look in all of sports has been changed for no reason other than to maximize profits.

Don't take the shuttle - 1.2 miles is not long and the campus is beautiful.

This will always be a mar on Brandon's legacy and its resolution is not something for which I'm grateful to him.

It's certainly possible he's holding out until a donor steps up, but "I'm going to do something shitty unless someone pays me otherwise" is not a great way to run an athletic department in the long term.

In his last game against Michigan? In Breslin? How much did it affect David Molk in the Sugar Bowl?
I hope he sits, of course.

"Yakety Sex" is the best neologism possible for what happened on that play.
Did you coin it? I'm afraid to Google it to find out.

The Farah brothers - one of whom wrote the movie, the other founded Funny or Die - are both Mgoblog readers. If you saw the movie, this would be obvious from the choice of song they used in the movie's final scene.

Agreed. Be cordial and offer visitors a beer while explaining how having your entire team on the field during a play is a penalty.
Make a little extra chili and share it with red-clad passersby while noting that having to cheat in order to beat unranked teams in overtime does not make a national champion.
See, you can be bitter without being a jerk!

I just called Red's. They will have books for sale. It's an informal thing, not a dinner event. He'll just be at a table answering questions and signing books.

ND has a pretty impressive student section, actually. They have many different cheers with hand motions in sync, guy/girl cheers, awareness of what the band's doing, etc. It's not them you have to worry about.
|2 years 46 weeks ago||Facebook post from Jeff||
Facebook post from Jeff Johnson, member of the Spartan Marching Band (if his photo is any indication): "Today members of the MSU, OSU, and EMU Marching Bands delivered tokens of support to the Michigan Marching Band. One of these was a rose from each of the bands in the Big Ten. This is a picture of the roses after they were laid on Elbel field where Patrick stood in the block M." The SMB also performed "Amazing Grace" in Patrick's honor at the conclusion of one of their rehearsals this week, and delivered a DVD of the performance to the MMB yesterday. Classy and touching.
