It is pretty amazing that after beating OSU 3 years in a row, we are entering our 4th year as another big underdog.  We are going to be able to prepare all season long hearing that our rival is the most talented team in College Football and we don't stand a chance this year in Columbus.  OSU please underestimate us for a fourth year in a row!

I don't understand everybody's confidence. We barely beat them this year with our best team ever. Our defense will be similar in quality this year but we're losing the entire offense, including our top 10 qb. Oh and we replaced half our coaches. Meanwhile OSU got all their draftable guys except 2 to come back and bought a bunch of transfers. If we win this year it'll be 10x the upset from last time we were in Columbus.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but it’s good times lately, and this makes people feel good and confident. Also Michigan will have one of the best defenses in the country whereas OSU still hasn’t fixed their OL and has downgraded at QB and WR.

There’s no guarantee Michigan wins obviously but no need to be a Nervous Nelly about it.

You mean we “beat them” despite them having the best player in MHJ keeping them close. We won. Weird that you field like belief is a bad thing. And that we should be negative because…”they’re scary.”

I don’t understand fans who cower as their starting position for looking ant the next year nor do I understand downplaying winning The Game any year, much less how hard it is to win a third straight one against a team gunning for 〽️.

I don't understand fans who think anything other than extreme cockiness is cowering. I didnt downplay winning the game, I'm using past results and current states of the teams to predict the future which is 90% of sports fandom. This is our 'everyone left' year and this is their 'everyone came back and more' year. We beat them badly twice when they had awful defenses but that got fixed last year and they were the 2nd best team we played all year. Anyone cocky about us winning next year is lying to themselves or extremely delusional. We could win, I of course hope we win, but we are rightfully underdogs.

Because the reasons they lost haven't been addressed. Are they going to be better next year on the OL? DL? LB? QB? There is nothing suggesting they have done anything to get better in these spots. They brought in a center from Bama who probably wasn't gonna get drafted...they lose their only DL who had a pass rush, they lose both LBs who were good not great, without equal replacements....and a bunch of QBs who are middling at this point.

A: They are losing an absolute generational player in MHJ that they don't have an obvious replacement for.  I will admit that Corum, to a lesser extent, is that same concept to us, a heart and soul of the offense player.

B: They have yet to prove they can go toe-to-toe with us for 4 quarters in the trenches.  Until proven otherwise, Ryan Day is not a coach who manifests domination up front as the defining feature of his teams.  That is the reason we have beaten him decisively 3 straight years and why his teams have hung close only to fail in the 4th.  That is the reason we will continue to have a viable chance in The Game.

One of those NFL departures was the guy their offense was built around. Everyone said this wouldn’t be a problem against Mizzou; turned out it was.

Certainly U-M has more question marks on offense, but other teams have problems too.

Oh and we replaced half our coaches.

Don't forget that we beat them with Harbaugh suspended, and just days after Partridge was fired.  We should (hopefully) not have that kind of in-season coaching instability again.

OSU also has to replace its QB, and by far its most dangerous player.  And the pressure on them will be massive.

It's really disturbing how delusional people are around here.  We had a great 3 year run, but thats over now.  We lost 6 linemen and our goat QB.  Ohio State is loaded everywhere.  Theyre at home.  If I had to set the line I'd be Ohio State -14.5 so yea I'm surprised it's only 7.  There should be zero confidence about that game.  Again we had a great run, but it's Ohio State's turn now.  That's the way it goes.  It's sports.

I remember talking to my dad before the 21 game.  We've been watching Michigan football games together since 1988.  I told him I think we have 20% equity which sounds bad but this is our best chance in years.  I did not feel good about our team's chances in 17, 18 and 19 (yes even in 18 when we were a 4 pt fav).

I'll be honest about 2022.  I was very pessimistic going into that game.  I was just hoping we wouldn't get blown out.  Keep the game reasonably close to maximize our playoff chances in a loss.  Never been happier in my sports life after that game.

That's a great story man.  Hope to meet you someday if you come to vegas.  All you gotta do is show up to that tournament and I'll be there.  Alot of Michiganders there but only three UofM fans including me.  Sounds like you and your dad were really close.  Time flies so fast.  Hope you are holding up well on the anniversary.

We barely beat them this year with our best team ever.

Michigan barely beat Maryland too. Should we read into the meaning of that as well?

There’s a tendency in college football to take the result of a single game as if it’s the precise distance between two teams. No one does this in the NFL—no one thought the Jets were better than the Bills when they beat them last season—but we do this all the time in college.

Last fall’s OSU game had all kinds of pregame and in-game variables that won’t be present for this year’s game. You can’t treat 30-24 as an immutable baseline.

Since the season ended what has Ohio done to solve their Michigan problem. Most specifically when Michigan decided we are going to end the game and run the ball at you for 8 minutes in the 4th quarter. What has Ohio done to solve that? From where I am sitting, not much. They've made some splash signings of skill position players. They still don't get it.

I am concerned every year when Michigan plays O$U.

MSU circles the calendar for when they play Michigan - and O$U does the same thing.

Every Buckeye lives, eats, and breathes for the Michigan game.   It's part of the reason why a Michigan win is "so special".

The Buckeyes will most likely have the most, or second most, talented roster in college football this season.   How is that different from the past ten or more seasons?   Essentially, it's not different.  The Buckeyes have had one of the three most talented rosters in seemingly forever - behind Alabama and Georgia

Am I concerned with Michigan winning in Columbus on November 30th?   Yes, I am.  A Michigan win is not a given.   However, I have faith and confidence in Team 145 - look forward to Michigan's Spring Camp - the changes to the coaching squad - and the season kicking off against Fresno State.
