you bring up three major market teams (Texas), one marquee basketball city (Chi-town), and another big market team (Detroit). Not exactly reeking of parity here. Not saying there isnt parity, but I think bringing up OKC, Portland, New Orleans and other smaller market teams that are putting together good teams are better examples.
First the Angels/Tigers issue and now this. Both blown way out of proportion and both I believe non-stories really.
Look, Harbaugh was super excited, and was definitely kinda a jackass running around after the game ended. Was he showing up the JS or the lions, or making a statement to Michigan? Hell no. He was a little too excited (he even admitted it in the postgame presser) and was a little rough with JS. Schwartz overreacted, as probably I would have done in the same situation as I, like Schwartz, hate losing and get really overreactive in those situations. Schwartz definitely should not have chased around Harbaugh, but until unless concrete comes out instead of "he said, she said," then this is a nonstory being overreacted to by probably the worst sports weekend in a long time in Detroit, and while Harbaugh probably was in the wrong by being overly animated, does not make him a tool or jackass. If he were trying to show up Schwartz, he would not have moved on after the overly enthuisiastic slap on the back.
By the way, not wanting to coach Michigan does not mean he turned his back on us, or that he isnt a Michigan Man. You cant blame the man for wanting to go to the NFL. If he had coached at any other college then I think a case could be made, but thats neither here nor there at the moment.
Id assume that the numbers are based on results, so dont account for returning starters or anything. So if Ohio State played at the exact same level they are now, and we played at the exact same level we are now, we would win roughly 92% of the time.
I dont like watching Barca just because they are good (im not a barca fan, but I love watching them play), I like watching Barca play because the soccer they play is just so beautiful and freeflowing and aesthetically pleasing. It just doesnt compare to other sports well at all, especially baseball, because it has little to no teamwork.
While what Weaver did I will not defend (throwing near his head), it is more out of character than you want to believe. Being a lifelong angel fan (yeah, yeah, bias etc...) and following Weavers career since before he was even drafted out of long beach state, I honestly cant remember more than maybe one or two other situations where Weaver lost control, as he definitely did against the Tigers. 95% of the time, he is completely laid back, and has the west coast relaxed attitude. The game was definitely the most important of his season, an intense pitchers duel where he was clearly frustrated with his offense just sucking, and snapped at magglio when he made a mistake on a pitch.
If you think guillen wasnt showboating, then you cannot seperate your love of the tigers from clear rational thought. If someone had hit a HR against the tigers in a heated game and did that, you would have been pissed as well (I bet similarly most of you are proud when Verlander threatened aybar after the bunt). While I cannot defend the pitch being thrown near his head, I can defend the message of Weaver saying that he will not be disrespected. If Verlander had thrown the pitch, you would probably be arguing in the same position I am in, disgusted that the pitch wound up so close to the batters head, but at the same time proud of your pitcher standing up for your team (the intention, not the location of the pitch).
While the best team in europe is in the Spanish league, the EPL is the by far the deepest and in my opinion the most exciting to watch. Champions league is basically March Madness, controlled throughout the year. After tomorrow, the remaining teams will be split into groups of 4 where every team plays eachother home and away, so the games could be very cautious until the next stage, and the games are far less frequent.
A huge factor is commentating, as FSCs coverage of the Serie A makes it hard at times to put up with the less than steller english commentary, but the EPL has the best english speaking commentators in the world, and highlights and game recaps are easier. Also, start recording the EPL review show on FSC, which in an hour breaks down everything of note that happened in the week in EPL, and is a huge advantage for following. I recommend watching the show and some games, and as a novice, I recommend picking a team that plays exciting football. I personally feel like rooting for Man U or Man City is like a new baseball fan rooting for the Yankees or Red Sox or a new football fan rooting for Auburn or Alabama, while Chelsea is much of the same. I would suggest Tottenham or Liverpool, who both play exciting styles of play.
While they both are spend happy, Chelsea has exponentially much more history (Founded in 1905, they play in the Premier League and have spent most of their history in the top tier of English football. wiki), and was a reputable club before abromovich took over, whereas city was basically awful before they were bought by someone who is richer than the rest of the owners combined.
the optimal 4-4-2 consists of Altidore, Agudelo, Landon, Bradley, Holden, Dempsey, Chandler, Boca, Ream, and Cherundolo. Id say the only spots that have serious question are the forwards (also possible 4-5-1 although landon or dempsey would have to pushed forward so theres no buddle island), and central defense. No way anyone can really break past LD, MB, SH, or CD if theyre healthy and theres 4 mids, although jermaine jones, shea, edu, adu, diskerudd and a few others could try to make some noise. Also lichaj, omar gonzales and a few other defenders are in the mix. Overall, its a pretty solid squad, especially in the midfield, although lacking true creativity, which is hopefully where klinsman comes in.
Luckilly she lives out of the country, so my response to only if its not during a football weekend wasnt met with too much hostility (first neice/nephew btw)
Some family friends (up in the CA Bay Area) knew some of his relatives or something, and hes truly a really standout guy. I truly wish him nothing but the best.
is put youtube like ads on certain articles, like the main page ones for instance, so when you click the read more button or something, theyd be a 10 or 15 second ad.
But heres the kicker, the more MGoPoints you have, the shorter the ad. That way real contributors would ideally not have an ad (or a very short one) while flamers and trollers have to wait longer. It should contribute to better discussion too.
Was really hoping that we could have picked up Soony. We need a competent striker pretty badly, what with JPA sucking, and Barret being probably the worst striker in the league (Cristman is awful too). God I miss Edson

The Women's team is really good, and exciting to watch as well.

insight bowl?
He is from the future, and these are retrospectives. THE KNOWLEDGE meant to say, Hoke HAS coached in the NFL after leading Michigan to a NC
negate that gap, and id assume rated so low because of smaller classes.

Me and some friends that moved up to the front row started chanting Hardaway, Novak and McGary

Skill players can play really soon, so an established starter, such as DG will be throwing to them their first 2 years (hopefully)
The 19 other teams in the EPL could pool their money together and still get outbid by city.
WHERE DOES THIS LEAGUE RANK IN RELATION TO OTHERS?
Olin Buchanan: Fourth
Tom Dienhart: Fifth
also Buchanon fail.

As in more interviews and relationships, and someone else would handle Tims role in area recruiting and analysis?
