11th ranked Women's Soccer team to host NCAA regional this weekend
Michigan was selected to host one of the eight NCAA "regionals" (the NCAA unfortunately calls them "second and third rounds" instead of regionals) in women's soccer this weekend.
Friday, 4pm: #23 Notre Dame (12-7-1) v Western Michigan (12-5-5)
Friday, 7pm: #11 Michigan (16-3-1) v Illinois State (14-6-1)
Sunday, 1pm: Regional final
The winner of the regional meets the winner of the Charlottesville regional (#1 Virginia, #20 Georgetown, #24 Penn State, Wake Forest) in the NCAA Quarterfinals next Friday or Saturday.
The top 8 seeds in the NCAA tournament were Virginia, Marquette, North Carolina, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Florida, Florida State and Nebraska. Fortunately for Michigan, Marquette was the one team that didn't survive its first round game (losing to Western Michigan), so Michigan, the second-best seed in the group, is able to host.
Tickets are available, according to mgoblue.com.

If they win Friday, I'll probably be heading to the game Sunday. Probably going to be a cold one though!!
