Just to clarify, I’ve never…

Just to clarify, I’ve never taken the top pick seriously. All athlete with no need to ever read a college defense is not a great predictor of future success. Biggest gamble in the draft

I watched a ton of reacts to the Vikes pick last night.

The best one by far was Bill Belichick breaking down his film. He had one bad thing to say and everything else sounded like Harbaugh fawning over him.

JJ gonna star. It’s going to be pick 4 vs pick 10 for OROTY.

The “e” versions of the wrangler are serving to attract the tax credit. When in gas mode they’re more inefficient owing to the extra weight of the vehicle with the battery pack

Forego that and get a Jeep with a pentastar six cylinder. The electric motor makes a smooth stop/start if you can find that hybrid or order from Jeep directly.

Really, really fun car. Interestingly biggest crossover to Jeep from other brand owners happens to be …Porsche.

Makes sense to me in that they’re both unique vehicles w particular purposes.

I liked my simple modern coffee mug so I went Chinese printed rose bowl stickers, sans licensing. The university might be aghast but they just looked so appealing. Questionable sourcing but here’s what I found:

I think you've got to take…

I think you've got to take his stock in context of this year's class, next year's class, and needs if you're a GM.

Caleb Williams -- consensus 1 overall...feels very Vince Youngesque in regards to college hype v NFL potential

Jayden Daniels -- probably won't be able to outrun trouble as easily as he did; coin toss for above average starter to low tier if he can't get the processing part down

Drake Maye-- see above

Bo Nix -- I dunno man...I never really got what people like about this guy. Hirbstreit talked him up for like 5 seasons since he was at Auburn. I think he's going to be a journeyman Fitzpatrick type where he might have some good days and be a solid mid-tier starter for about a decade or so

Michael Penix -- He's a dude. The guy is the best passer in the class. He's outstanding. If he stays healthy...he's a star.

JJ -- if he hits the weight room w Blake a bit and gets his lower body to fill out his frame he'll be a real steady hand for the right franchise. he's really got all the talent and arm strength and accuracy and processing power you'd wanting in a starting Qb. Pocket awareness is great, ability to manipulate the pocket could use some work as he is willing to take a hit or bail, but next level would be manipulating to stay in it and make a play. add the "it" factor, his presence in the locker room, and infectious personality and you've got a budding superstar.

Next year...

Milroe? I can't think of anyone who jumps out as the next guy...maybe someone is willing to wait two years for Arch Manning. That would require some planning to put the pieces in place, shore up the lines, get a weapon or two, and then insert the next Manning for a decade or more of excellence. Ewers may make a leap but remains to be seen. Dante Moore has a lot of developing to do. Bryce Underwood is many years away. I think the weakness of the coming class is going to ensure all the above are top 15 picks, but if anyone besides JJ or Penix becomes a star, I'd be surprised.

All the comments clearly…

All the comments clearly didn’t listen to the segment. He wasn’t talking about physical attributes—they meant his presence. How he was like a magnet and just a superstar, even going back to production meetings for the Nebraska game. When Jim Harbaugh says he’s got “it—“ that was the point of the comp. That apparently at the combine McNabb was the same way. Everyone was gathered around him as if he were the natural alpha of the pack.
while Caleb was just goofin around he saw JJ in it not only for himself, but also encouraging his future colleagues to do their best, so then Caleb had to head over and do the same thing. It was all about the interactions and way less about the talent and physical ability. Interesting take a good listen.

It’s loads of fun to go back…

It’s loads of fun to go back and watch the pregame shows like game day and big noon kickoff before The Game and penn st.

for the season all time fave moment might be the juxtaposition of C Woodson’s pure joy and ecstasy in his fist pump right next to the smugness taken straight off Urban’s face in the background with a scowl on his face when Rod Moore sealed the Game.
right after Milroe stopped, of course.
what a hell of a ride.

Revenue sharing is the only…

Revenue sharing is the only option. NCAA hoping people just give more out of their own pockets while lining their own will result in players earning pennies on the dollar. If he’s not about that then he’s not the voice.
also agree that the market sets the rate not the other way around; a cap only works if players are able to collectively bargain and agree. They definitely need a players association.

I think what is interesting is all the back money that’s owed…does bush get his Heisman back? There’s so much historical mess to clean up that this will probably take a decade or more to clarify.

I think he’s going to win…

I think he’s going to win the job, but if he stays reckless we’ll need our backups ready. Orji and package will have to have to some more straight drop back passing and some Denard pop passes. Denegal and Davis simmer for another year. One starts for two and the other transfer. Then the Carter Smith era begins.
Nice flow at the position finally. It’s been a minute.

Was looking forward to…

Was looking forward to watching his season as dessert following the main feast of our championship. Felt like we had our own bona fide guy that we always used to wonder we didn’t have in the secondary. Incredible athlete and I feel like he’s gonna lay a few highlight reel hits this next season. Hopeful we can poach him back out of the portal…again.

Nope. After the 2011…

Nope. After the 2011 Cardinals came back in game 6 I realized almost nothing they do in the future could top being down to their last strike in a World Series game, twice, and come back and win. So now it’s all gravy. I’m with you on this one. Time to live and enjoy whatever comes our way.

I threw up in my mouth a little reading that garbage.

Can’t compare his tenure to…

Can’t compare his tenure to Harbaugh as it’s a totally different landscape. With the portal, NIL, and essentially unlimited free agency it’s a totally different world.

15-0 is a remarkable historical achievement; it will be highly difficult to replicate an undefeated season in any level given the expansion of conference play and addition of some real traditional powers. The eventual champion will probably regularly feature 1-2 losses. It’s what made this year so special—the last of its kind among traditional collegiate interplay.
We’ll always have the final play of Saban’s career be a goal line stand.
can’t wait to see that center again in November.
it’s a very easy scenario to see a low scoring game between two great defenses and some trouble with the snaps ending Ryan Day’s tenure in Columbus.
at this point, anything here on out is gravy. We just climbed the damn mountain. Can’t take that joy away.

I’m hearing Brian Kelly and Matt Campbell are on the short list. According to sources.

They could be like the…

They could be like the Yankees. Or perhaps a little more like the Mets. Higher payroll doesn’t always equal success…

Put Domani Jackson opposite…

Put Domani Jackson opposite will johnson, slide mcburrows in (Mike told us to “stay tuned”) to the slot, and it probably won’t matter who starts at QB. If Tuttle is back he is likely the guy. Got some moxy and looks like he knows how to manage the game well which is all they’ll need to win in Columbus again.
and apparently the NCAA is going after inducements now? I believe there was one televised with the non Gatorade player of the year from FL who still happens to be a highly ranked receiver going to a school somewhere in Ohio that used to be good at football fake signing his name until a check cleared.

college football has become a total mess.

Your point on Michigans…

Your point on Michigans ability to scout actual five-stars as opposed to the eyes of the recruiting services is so spot on. They are the Michelangelo of scouts:

Michelangelo: 'I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.'

Sports journalism has made…

Sports journalism has made the full transition to Buzz feed articles. There’s nothing worth reading that’s off this site.

If UM had picked which way…

If UM had picked which way to play in the first half, Alabama would’ve chosen the ball and gotten it twice. They could only choose offense / defense or which end zone to defend, not both. So the Sun issue was a no decision for them.

Love all the “this article…

Love all the “this article was too long” comments. Amazing. Makes sense why the poster who found the Bama blogs noted they were all reduced to quotisms.

feel better and better about this game as we get closer. I think pressure and forcing Milton to read a defense will result in a pick or two. We’ll grind down the field with some spot “holy shit” throws from JJ into Houston.

The only fear I have is if they play tight—players kept talking about being “perfect.” I think that was the major flaw that held them back against TCU; feeling like they had to win the game and forcing too much. Hopefully they let it all loose and don’t let mistakes and a deficit break them. Didn’t realize the tide were down 20-7 to TN?!

Alex Orji package? I feel…

Alex Orji package? I feel like some smoke and mirrors, and big games from DE and Loveland. I think it takes 35+ to win unless they really get home to Milton and stay disciplined enough to keep the scrambles at bay and prevent them from becoming long TDs. Then 30 might do it. They’ve got multiple Will Johnson’s, but if we’re expecting JJ to be who we think he is and be a top 10 pick and franchise QB, this will be the game where he’s gotta play like it. All that said looks it is ours to lose, but just like OSU going to have to play clean to win.

On a (somewhat) related note: any driving tips? Heading up from San Diego same day and trains seem like they’ll be cutting it close to game time. Was hoping to drive and park by a metro link station then train and walk the rest but not clear where best to park or how to get there. Thinking union station in LA.

He also acknowledges injury…

He also acknowledges injury playing a role; Rich is sarcastic and defends the team a lot. It’s a good watch and not all that long. That’s why I didn’t summarize, apologies.

Rich’s assessment is the…

Rich’s assessment is the same as ours—cowardice of butthurt B1G coaches who hide anonymously. Feldman is cautious when he says there may be some merit to JJs having a different side of the season after allegations due to “not knowing where the blitzes are coming from” vs the actual step up in competition to three of the top five defenses in the country. He actually does appear to be neutral in the whole thing, and Rich gives some veiled not so veiled “this is garbage, the difference in level of competition is what explains the difference in play at the end of the season.”

there’s just a lot of very quotable questions that Feldman raises that everyone who assigns our dominance to signgate that he raises not as if they’re his, but as to the general tenor toward the offense especially.

it’s just the perfect overlay for an outstanding performance when it’s all said and done.

It seems more likely that his role on the infractions committee—one he should recuse himself from in this case—is the whole game. He could threaten to bring the proverbial hammer OSU twitter is so adamant is coming down if JH is re-signed and let it all go if they move on from him. Nixon level shit.
