from the vantage point of the future, THE KNOWLEDGE looked back upon the year 2020

Maybe it's just me - or maybe it's because so much time has passed my recollection is fuzzy. But whenever I hear Brian Cook speak, his voice reminds me of JP McCarthy.
"Well, I don’t know. I don’t know how much you can fix the kick return last week. If kicking someone’s butt is a penalty nowadays, then sure. But he didn’t grab, he didn’t hold. He pancaked a guy. And they called a flag." - Chris Partridge
My daughter is 26. Can confirm things DO get better in 25 years :) Yes, enjoy. This is the stuff of life that makes it so rich - especially when there are more miles behind you than what lie ahead.
“The greatest thing by far is to be a master of metaphor … it is also a sign of genius, since a good metaphor implies an intuitive perception of the similarity in the dissimilar” (Poetics).
In my own cursory review of the 2017 schedule, it never occurred to me that our first-half opponents include an A-10 Warthog, an under-ripened avocado, Icarus in flames hitting an iceburg, and cinnamon-flavored chili.
This write-up is like a steaming bowl of Malt-o-Meal. Good stuff, Maynard.
... would a reader employ a sesquipedalian word in the Subject line - and the legitimacy of its appropriation generate as much discussion as the subject itself.
General question: If Mullen's actions disqualify him for consideration as a Michigan coach, does that also eliminate Miles - or most of the other SEC coaches?
I would add that nobody knows what Dave Brandon has said to Coach Hoke - and vice versa. Regardless of one's opinions of Brandon's executive style, he's not a laissez-faire AD. When he sees what he perceives is even a small problem, he doesn't just accept the first pat (or public) explanation from his coaches and then sing the Fight Song until everyone feels better. He's incredibly engaged - especially in the football program (was on the sideline of this game) and is hyper brand-conscious. If he thinks the course of action by this staff is not the best plan given all the data, I have a hard time imagining he'll be silent very long about it. At least behind closed doors.
Our family was celebrating my wife's birthday at a particular dining establishment in West Palm Beach. I'm not much of a drinker but do have one indulgence: an "Arnold Palmer" - half iced tea, half lemonade. The young lady waiting on our table told us that Jack Nicklaus Jr. was seated at the table next to us and had just ordered a "Jack Nicklaus." She said it's half iced tea and half cranberry juice, apparently Jack II is on a crusade to make it as popular as the "Arnold Palmer," and would I be interested? I passed.
Interesting, considering the Columbus Dispatch just this week was accused of cheating (e.g. plagiarism by their editorial cartoonist). The paper did their own "investigation" and found the whole thing "appears to be [only] a coincidence."

PUNT-RETURN PENALTY HAIKU

I signed up, got my orders, and ... alas. The team I was ordered to attack/defend was not presented as one of the options.
Help?
Giggity.
Aristotle said so.

...it's his dooty.
...How does it feel to be Stauskissed?
Tom Crean would drop 200 on this Champion Baptist team without thinking twice. And then cut the nets down afterwards

But even this game has its limitations, to wit:
...right in the front of the student section is our favorite fan, Lloyd Brady. And he's tagged as Lloyd Brady.

With the exception of Jake, the other Michigan players mentioned exceeded expectations - none more than Steve Breaston.
