- We're going to recruit the leaders and best and not settle for anything less - because we shouldn't have to, and
- Those affiliated with M are going to become the leaders and best - because every stakeholder in the M tradition expects nothing less.

| 1 year 49 weeks ago | "Jack Nicklaus" vs. "Arnold Palmer" |
Our family was celebrating my wife's birthday at a particular dining establishment in West Palm Beach. I'm not much of a drinker but do have one indulgence: an "Arnold Palmer" - half iced tea, half lemonade. The young lady waiting on our table told us that Jack Nicklaus Jr. was seated at the table next to us and had just ordered a "Jack Nicklaus." She said it's half iced tea and half cranberry juice, apparently Jack II is on a crusade to make it as popular as the "Arnold Palmer," and would I be interested? I passed. |

Interesting, considering the Columbus Dispatch just this week was accused of cheating (e.g. plagiarism by their editorial cartoonist). The paper did their own "investigation" and found the whole thing "appears to be [only] a coincidence." |

Rankings in 2007: Rankings in 2008 With the exception of Jake, the other Michigan players mentioned exceeded expectations - none more than Steve Breaston. |

I got a chuckle out of this line from the NFL.com analysis of Justin Boren: "Plays angry on the field but his mental makeup is in question after a transfer from Michigan."

Has Hoke made any kind of statement as to why he deliberately abbreviates the expansive "The Ohio State University" to "Ohio"? First time I heard it I laughed out loud - just thought it was like the guy who likes to introduce himself as Beauregard Crandall Thurston Jermajesty IV and everybody just calls him Bob.

| 2 years 4 weeks ago | That attitude... |
...of regarding M as being such a unique and special place spills over in several tangible ways. Since Hoke believes the "leaders and best" thing is not just a line in a song: People learn best in two ways: having something (a) clearly taught and (b) consistently modeled. Thus far Hoke is saying AND doing the things that reflect his fundamental belief: Michigan is the singular institution that anyone who has the opportunity should be willing to crawl across broken glass to be a part of. That attitude, sincerely stated and lived out, is contagious. |

Won reason ewe mite knot half bin able too remember is that it has become politically incorrect two bee openly homophonic. All though thee definition has nothing to due with orientation and everything two due with pronunciation, I steel here there are sum people who git the idea that most of us on this bored are all high per homophones. | 2 years 7 weeks ago | The author is TP |
After reading that article I'm convinced the author is Terrelle Pryor. It is apparent an OSU student-athlete did the research on Jesus--TP perhaps? Only someone "saved" by Tressel would view Tressel as a "martyred Messiah"-- again, TP? And which current OSU student-athlete besides TP has such a well publicized history of doing research on research? Whereas a researcher seeks to write at the level of his audience, I believe we must conclude TP is the author.

...but have you ever been to Columbia, Missouri? There are options, but seriously: a corn maze, a roller rink, and a bluegrass festival... |

It's the old management aphorism: What gets rewarded gets repeated; what gets punished gets avoided. Via the current point system, the only thing tangibly rewarded is new posts. Quality of content is effectively neutral. There is something to be said for the "shame" of being shotgunned with shadow negs; over time there is a de facto ostracism of those whose contributions are dung--which serves a similar purpose as banishment into exile. However, those whose participation is intermittent don't get the immediate pre-judgment of those whom the MGoCommunity has relegated to perdition because of their persistent slouch toward Bolivia. |
