They emailed student season

They emailed student season ticketholders after Friday's game saying an email would go out with more info Sunday night (tonight) or Monday morning if we made it.

Got my fingers crossed for affordable ones...

Drunk CC guy getting so crazy

Drunk CC guy getting so crazy that some of the nonsense words would randomly would be red or green sometimes. This kind humor added to the gameday experience. Did anyone else notice how many times the captioning would list first or second down as "1st & Bo" or "2nd & Bo?"

Video is nice, but frankly, I'd rather have smaller boards with lots of stats on them than a giant video feed without stats. And even when the stats were shown, they were on so briefly I didn't have time to read them all.

This is Michigan

These sentiments were the direct foundation for this season's marketing slogan:

This is Michigan

This game's on YouTube!

I have to admit, I was just over a year old when this game happened. But I have of course heard of the Fab 5 legend (and read the Mitch Albom book about them).

This game was epic, and fortunately, the entire game has been posted on Youtube for prosperity! It is definitely worth watching if you have a spare 2 hours - I was going to do my econ homework two nights ago but found the game and watched. It was definitely an exciting game, and electric to watch the flashes of brilliance from the freshmen. At the same time, they were young players and you could really tell Duke was a more disciplined, well-oiled machine. Michigan was able to get players like Grant Hill in foul trouble, however, and made one hell of a game of it.

So if you have 2 hours, it'd be a good way to get in the spirit for the movie...

Bacari Alexander is doing

Bacari Alexander is doing great work with the bigs. I love watching Jordan Morgan play down low. He still isn't quite there as far as finishing when there is a lot of traffic and can be overmatched when playing truely large (6'10"+) players, but he knows what it takes and has great awareness.

Also, the whole squad plays hard and plays for keeps. It's a great attitude, and that's half the battle. If they continue to play with such passion, add in the new practice facility and we should continue getting good recruiting classes.

I think next season I'm going to have to take my talents to South Beach.

This game, particularly the

This game, particularly the first half, was a disgrace to basketball. How Michigan escaped the first half down by only 7 points can only be explained by Kansas also not showing up to play. Shooting was attrocious in the first half, and a big part of that was because of horrid shot selection and inability to run the offense against the pressure of Kansas's defense.

That being said, I'll give the good guys credit for coming back and making a game of it.They certainly had to make some big plays to tie up the game, but there's no question in my mind that if they had played like they did in the last 5 minutes of regulation during even just the second half, we'd be talking about the upset that was, rather than the one that "almost was."

So after looking like Michigan, then SF, then Miami, it looks like it might finish right back where it started. At Stanford. Amazing.

I heard that the new defensive coordinator will let the defensive players play with these after big 3rd down stops:

I'll only get married there if I get use of the PA announcer:

"Thank you for being a part of the largest audience watching a wedding anywhere in America today."

The maize jerseys should

The maize jerseys should always have black shoes and black socks. Can't go wrong with a long pair of maize shorts and some homage to the Fab 5. (I wish the block M's on the shorts today were still this big also.)

Definitely not a fan of the shoes that were worn today. I was, however, a fan of the outcome of the game...

I don't really know that the pepperoni pizza really works in the Big Ten. But after careful review at the end of the season about flavor, speed of delivery, product quality, and next-day-eatability, he will make a well-informed decision.

The defense is playing as

The defense is playing as well as I can reasonably expect of them. It's still not a Michigan-caliber defense, but if it weren't for the offensive turnovers and special teams attrocity this would be a different game.

T-Woolf's Ankle Status Update

Fortunately, Woolfolk is giving us the "inside my ankle" breakdown, complete with this new x-ray. Boy, all of those screws don't look pleasant at all, and I thought the little pins I had put into my finger last fall were painful...

I got to explain to the people I was watching with all about MGoBlog and Lloyd Brady and then I was going to text my roommate something along the lines of (OMG DID YOU SEE LLOYD BRADY?!). I pulled out my phone, and he had already sent me "omg lloyd brady!"

I was amazed ESPN was able to find him at a road game like they did. I almost wonder if someone from their camera crew or something reads MGoBlog...

I was wearing the 2009

I was wearing the 2009 student season shirt for all of the home games. Now that we have reached 5-0 and are facing our first real test of the Big Ten season, it's time for me to break out the 2010 shirt. Today I wore the '09, tomorrow I wear the '10, thus symbolizing the transformation of the team and of course the rebirth of Denard, aka Dreadlock Jesus.

Johnny Adams will be the

Johnny Adams will be the biggest asshat on the field. Win or lose, he will perform at minimum three celebrations which could be considered excessive or unnecessary during the course of the game.

Play Clock Hits 0

I think the play clock situation calls for a little song...

From my friend who travelled to the game

(A rollercoaster finish ending in a Wolverine victory can do that to you)

Yes, best to use these next

Yes, best to use these next two games to get the running game going. Imagine how difficult it would be to defend an attack where on any given snap, it could be a Denard pass, a crazy Denard run, or a hand-off to Smith or Shaw. Defensive coordinators would get Denarded just thinking about it!

He did commit to ND this

He did commit to ND this summer. I'm hoping yesterday makes him question the decision.

He does have a decent leg -- that 50 yard punt last year was beautiful...

The pre-emptive ball toss on

The pre-emptive ball toss on the non-touchdown call was infuriating. Marshall did the same thing last night, and the refs didn't notice it then either. Hopefully the NCAA will be taking a closer look at it after two unclassy tosses went uncalled this weekend. There's a lot to be said for the way UM plays. They aren't playing without emotion, but nothing excessive, nothing unsportsmanlike. The play has ended, and they just prepare for the next.

I've never been more

I've never been more exhausted from watching other people play football in my entire life. Rest assured we had a stereo + singing student rendition of "The Victors" here on the 4th floor of West Quad! Go Blue!
