I know it has to suck for the players and I do feel bad about that. I've been a season ticket holder for a long time, but trying to justify using 3+ hours of my Sunday to watch this team is hard.
It will be so much worse next year if they don't make a coaching change.
Here is the part where they talk about Michigan, it isn't that interesting:
Michigan and Michigan State part ways with coaches Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio
The Mitten State might become the epicenter for this year's carousel intrigue. Despite Saturday's rout of Notre Dame, the debate about Harbaugh's future at Michigan intensifies with every loss to a top-10 opponent. Dantonio is headed toward a second straight middling season at Michigan State, which reached the playoff in 2015 but has backslid since.
If Harbaugh falls to 0-5 against Ohio State, there's a chance he and the school decide to part ways. Though it's extremely unlikely Michigan would fire Harbaugh, the short length of his remaining contract (two seasons) and constant NFL interest would make a separation possible. If Michigan opens, Campbell probably would be a prime target. Michigan is at or near the top of his list of preferred destinations. Baylor's Rhule also makes a lot of sense for Michigan, which could afford just about any buyout.
Michigan also could call former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who might consider a return, but only at a legacy program. Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has an affinity for Michigan and could be worth pursuing. Wake Forest's Dave Clawson, a consistent winner at one of the toughest Power 5 jobs, also should be on Michigan's list.
Dantonio's situation is delicate, given his success at MSU (111-54 record). He's due a one-time retention bonus of $4.3 million if still coaching the Spartans on Jan. 15. He also is set to be deposed after the season by attorneys for former staffer Curtis Blackwell, who is suing MSU for wrongful termination. There's industry talk of MSU finding a permanent athletic director, which complicates a coaching transition. But Dantonio's future is a popular topic right now.
Assuming Dantonio is not back, MSU would have an interesting candidate pool. Fickell has the exact same profile as Dantonio --- former Ohio State defensive coordinator who then became Cincinnati's head coach. He's also very close to Dantonio. Would MSU pursue Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi, Dantonio's longtime defensive coordinator? If the school breaks from the Dantonio tree and seeks an offensive jolt, coaches like Minnesota's Fleck (started his career at Western Michigan) and Syracuse's Dino Babers make sense.
If MSU sticks with defense, Cal's Justin Wilcox is a good option. Wilcox loved his time in the Big Ten at Wisconsin. Top defensive coordinator candidates who could fit at MSU include Oklahoma's Grinch, LSU's Dave Aranda, Texas A&M's Mike Elko and Wisconsin's Jim Leonhard.
Serious answer: Kelly Tebay and Brianna Scott. They are two amazing women who graduated from MSU. I would encourage you and everyone to help clean up the garbage up there by voting for these two.
All of these people jumping in telling you not to do are really bumming me out. I've been an official for 20 years doing football, baseball, and basketball on and off through the years.
If all of stop doing it the only people it is going to hurt are the kids. Yes, the parents and coaches can be annoying but more often than not I leave my games feeling good about what happened.
I find officiating to be a ton of fun and a great way to get a little exercise and be part of the sports world. We are in desperate needs of officials, I would encourage you to give it a shot.
I will say that basketball is the toughest one I've done. The fans are right on top of you, the game is very hard to officiate well, and the coaches all want to ride you like Tom Izzo. However, I still think it is worth it.
Football is the best, if you're interested in getting involved in football let me know.
Either he is an attorney that has been practicing for two years and isn't much of a threat or he's out of state and would have to find in-state counsel which seems unlikely.
I love coming home and watching football on Thursday nights. I do wish there was more focus on the smaller conferences versus the big schools. But either way its a great way to lead into the weekend.
I'm definetly in that 'lurker' class. I hardly post but I check the site daily. This blog and its contents have become an important part of my fandom. I am very proud that you and your staff represent the Michigan community. Keep up the great work, and thanks for all you do.
As some one who had to endure a decade of terrible basketball because of him and his bad decisions this not something to celebrate.
I have a lot of anger towards him and what he did. Until he apologizes I don't care what happens to him. He's not welcome back as far as I'm concerned.
The current basketball team and coach who are doing things the right way shouldn't have this constant reminder of how horrible things were. Can we just honor what this new group is doing?
Back in 1993 they did it. It was amazing...other than the result. I was only 13 at the time but I had an awesome time and it is one my favorite sports memories. I hope they pull it together again.
The captain of the 65 team is a good friend of mine and he swears they only wore maize jerseys in practice. I have a poster that he actually gave me that has the 64 maize jersey on it, but he is very convinving in that it was never worn in a game.

That's fair. I just wish we had a better basketball arena.
Tear down Crisler and build a multiuse facility.
Oof
If you told me that Michigan would win a national title but the Lions had to move to another city, I'd start buying moving boxes.
Yes, Michigan State and Penn State have grass fields
This dude is not a hero, he's the reason we are in this mess.

I was able to get 4 tickets at 9am without a problem. I am not a season ticket holder.
There is a waiting list for season tickets. They dont have tickets to give away. They should track season ticket holders attendance.
It's a Michigan distillery. Avoid their product, their borrowed time bottles are great.
If you can get Blanton's for state minimum it's as good as it gets. Paying over $100 is insane.
Agree with you on everything else. Evan Williams BIB is fantastic. I'd also add Old Grand Dad 114 to the list.
Best Bourbon for the $$ - any of the Mammoth Borrowed Time Bottles
Most Underrated Bourbon: Wilderness Trail
Most Overhyped: Henry McKenna

Years ago I saw a sign that cracked me up, I think it went something like:
E I
S don't
P understand

The Jesus thing was out of control in Columbus. I think the same group did it in Cincinnati too.
I know Sections 119, and 17 are. So I'm guessing that corner,
I just put up a full session pass in 119 on stubhub.
This is gross

The Wolverines still have open dates Sept. 17 and Nov. 5 during the 2022 season. There are open dates on Sept. 9 and Sept. 30 in 2023.
This is a sad day for sure. They produced some of the best content.

I'll be booing Chris Webber.

Doesn't he have Parkinsons or something like that? I like having him do the broadcasts. He was one of my favorite players growing up.
I can find one Matt Mann licensed to practice law in Michigan.

I think you're safe Brian.
We will be there. I am cautiously pessimistic however.

Always Sparty.
Pretty much the same situation here. I don't have a lot to say on the board but I check it several times a day.
Where did you get that sweatshirt from?

To figure out how to get this picture to work I would post one of my son...but I'm not..so I won't.
That's all..this article makes me stabby.

Mitchy was too lazy to fact check too.
I know that this is a regular season game for Michigan...but the Slippery Rock website consideres it an exhibition.
Can one team count it and the other team not?

You have to have 7 on the line and 1 in the backfield to take the snap.
I like the formation because it garuntees that you have a legal formation in that situation which is often a problem when trying to spike the ball.

Is one of the worst things I've ever seen.
