Still have a pair of tickets on the home field 42 yard line available for tomorrow night. Asking $75ea (FV is $100). Someone please let me subsidize a portion of your home opener experience.
Still have my pair at midfield available for the opener this Saturday night, as I can’t make it out from Chicago. They’re in Section 23 right on the south 42 yard line. Asking FV ($100/ea) but will consider less due to how close we are to the game. Please reach out if interested.
But I was looking at the Sagarin ratings, and they have UMass at 69, and the third highest FCS team. By comparison, Bowling Green is 108. I thought it to be interesting anyway, and reflective of Coach Rod's assertion that this is one of the good FCS teams. I'm sure that he'll hammer that home to the team this week.
I was sitting around all morning thinking that this might be coming today. I found myself sitting here twitching in anticipation and scratching my chest like Tyrone Biggums. Now I am in my post-fix afterglow. Thank you Brian...UFR dealer.
I will co-sign with all comments regarding tackling. I have been in a constant bitch about the tackling since the NW game in 2000. It seems that now we have learned to use our hands to tackle rather than thinking our shoulders could do all of the work.
Up high row 85 or so in section 35. Seats are on the aisle. Will take face (I think its like $59) for fellow M fan. If interested, email me at [email protected].
I'm pretty sure that even though they make it seem like its all Big Ten, this is really a State bar. Besides that, the air conditioning doesnt work...the place is a piece. Can't join you all as I have season tix, so have fun wherever you end up.
In the past few months, I have had to spend a considerable amount of time in the Tri-Cities area of NE Tennessee, most recently last week. Last Monday I was watching TV in my hotel room and flipping around when I saw some local sports show talking about the upcoming Vol season. They went on to discuss Eric Berry and his potential for winning the Heisman this year. It was at this time that one of the guys on the panel says "wouldn't it be great if he won this year by beating out Michigan's QB...too bad they don't have one". It really caught me off guard, as I couldn't figure out the beef until the next night when I was having a beer at a local watering hole, and I got into a discussion with a Vol fan and he explained the whole theory of Manning being "Robbed".
All that having been said, I still don't mind the Vols as much as some other SEC programs...they just need to get over a trophy given out 12 years ago.
Both Supposedly and Supposably are correct. I looked this up some time ago because I was wrongly making fun of someone for saying Supposably, only to find out that it wasnt them being stupid, but me being ignorant.
is where I either:
Make an incredibly sarcastic remark to Hyperbolize your remarks in an insulting way
or
Piss and moan about your remarks in a way that makes me sound like a pompous prick
right?
Ian Gold was in band with me. I was a year ahead of him and kinda knew his brothers Jason and Jeremy (CMU) who were in the same grade as me. I think Kris and Cullen Jenkins were on the team with him, but that might have been after I graduated.
I for one (apparently the only one on here) am in favor of seeing Shafer come back next year. Mainly due to the fact that I'd rather have the kids have some consistency for a minute considering all that's changed recently. I definitely give him the benefit of the doubt and think that our defense was a lot closer to being really good this year despite what the stats show. I mean he was given a great line, but everything behind it was a crapshoot. To say that our defensive iniquities were his fault is rather harsh considering some of our personnel issues. Can you fault him for Stevie Brown not being able to wrap someone up when Shafer's D got him in position in the first place?
if you look at his eyes while hes attempting to form word like things, it looks as though he might be reading, which would indicate that he does know how to read. Though...upon further deliberation I have come to the conclusion that he got kicked in the head by his mule.
I have felt that our tackling has been shit for many years. Since about the 2000 NW game I can remember thinking so many times that our guys were either trying to smash guys without wrapping them up, or they were going after the ball too much and not consistently bringing guys down. I used to work with a guy around that time who was a reserve defensive back and when I talked to him about it, he used to tell me that they stressed the propert things in practice, but guys would go back to their habits during the games.
To say that our defense having an issue tackling now is Shafer's fault seems premature, as he's dealing with guys that have had tendancies built in for the past few years.
when its not good to lay a bunch of road chalk. That being said, Arky is still an abomination of a team. I would be leary of anyone giving that much at Colorado, just because they usually have a good home field adv. Best advice I can give is to not bet parlays...its begging to give your money to the book.
"On Threet's long run, I don't think he could have held the ball at the mesh point any longer. It was near perfect execution."
Great point on this play. I thought that I noticed in the first half that as they were trying to run these plays, that there wasn't enough of a hesitation (if that is the right word) at the mesh point. It seemed that the decision to keep or give was made earlier on and wasn't sold as well. It looked to be fixed in the second half on this play and a few others.
After watching the first half a couple of times (and certain plays from your video pop-ups even more), it seems to me that the first half defense wasn't as bad as it originally seemed during the game. Rather, they would play well with the exception of one or two blown plays per drive, and then...Sakoda. The exception to this was the Ute possession from around the 5min mark in the 2Q, where Asiata (and potentially others) kept ripping off longer run after longer run. Otherwise, the second half defense kept away from the blown plays and thus seemed (with numbers to back up) to be the polar opposite.
in the North endzone towards the top...if you are interested let me know ([email protected])
as far as tailgaiting...I prefer up in the Hoover street area as the band goes through there as well as the students, so it gives a good game day field. Also you can get cheaper dogs and brats before going into the game with the street vendors there.

I have two in the North endzone up high (row 85 or so) that I have no use for. Asking $50/per which is less than face.

Keep up the good analysis!
