4 years 34 weeks ago	Athens	In the 1920s near the end of Fielding Yost's legendary coaching career at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor was coined as the "Athens of America" by the media. Around the same time in 1925, Michigan State's name was Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (lol) and were known as the "Aggies". They wanted to move past their agricultural background (never) so they changed their names to the "Staters". (lolol) Then someone said, "Hey, if Ann Arbor is the Athens of America, then lets become call ourselves their Spartan rivals who defeated them!" The Michigan State Spartans, clearly better than Aggies or Staters but nonetheless only created because Big Brother was and always will be superior. The will deny to truth to this story, but I read it in Don Canhams book, From the Inside - it's true.

4 years 37 weeks ago	hahaha	Yeah I felt kind of bad after, but we had some pretty big assholes from Wisco sitting behind us who repeatedly chanted "Michigan Sucks" and "Bottom of the Big Ten!" everytime we turned the ball over, so it made me feel better.
4 years 37 weeks ago	Enough	I was at the game and saw plenty of people booing and disappointed, but I also saw an equal amount of people cheering the team into the tunnel. People from other schools and media outlets are going to make a big deal that Michigan booed their fans because they love taking shots at us. This year, they have many other things to take shots at us about. Family values, coaches yelling, forcing players to transfer, etc. - which is all complete bullshit and makes all of us very angry. So let's not give the haters more ammo to take shots at us with. Please stop talking about booing! *Other schools don't have blogs nearly as amazing and comprehensive as this one and I am sure they come here for information all the time.

4 years 42 weeks ago	I found an explanation!	http://mgoblog.com/content/michigan-stadium-press-box-letters-and-eagle-0?size=medium  I found an image of what they plan on doing! So they will put GIANT "MICHIGAN STADIUM" letters on top of the west structure that will house the press box and then put a GIANT eagle on top of the south end of that structure to scare away giant birds. I guess they are really doing everything to scale, so instead of $226 million, it will probably cost about $230 million. (The extra $4 million being for the giant bird and the lettering, I am assuming they don't make giant 50 foot eagle statues and letters, so they will have to be custom made.) Hahahahhaa...enjoy. Go Blue!
