Charlevoix and Petoskey are big enough to have the schools and amenities. Holland and Traverse City are larger and less isolated and probably a better choice. I can work from anywhere and summer in Harbor Springs/Petoskey which is great. However it is very limited from Nov-April.
Wow. Queuing “Dunkirk” and tipping a glass to him. Thankful for the hours of joy listening to him. Never caught him live. My bad. 78 seems young these days.
Addicted to King Crimson’s live versions of Starless on the album of the 2021 tour (Spotify). The final tour and brilliant. Fripp and Jocko on guitar, three percussionists and Tony Levin.
How about Rhapsody in Blue by Liquid Tension Experiment from 10 years ago which proceeded last year’s studio version. Perhaps the best rock instrumental ever? and premiered live.
The only things I know is that our team is better than Rutgers, NIU, Washington and Western Michigan. I have enjoyed 3.5 hours of football this Fall and hope to enjoy another hour on Saturday.
Tennis has allowed me to continue to compete in a sport, even as I get older. Give it a try! I'm early 60's and blessed that all of my joints original equipment and in solid condition. I didn't play much until about 15 years ago when I moved back to MI from CA and needed a Winter sport to augment mountain biking and soccer. I'm a 4.0 and play 2-3 times a week.
Great additions. These were just my pulled off of my recent Spotify rotation. I agree with Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery for jazz oldies. I recently went down the King Crimson rabbit hole and Fripp won’t let me out.
What an opportunity! We are legit top 10 team. We're going to compete with a legit top 4 team at home. About a 30% chance to win but I wouldn't want it any other way! Just going to enjoy it!
Agree..Tribalism is one of the more interesting basic human instincts. I think sports are a healthy outlet for exercising it as long as you recognize that it is mostly for fun. However, it’s also an effective avenue for emotional manipulation in areas like culture, politics and religion. By nature, you don’t instinctively recognize it in yourself, but just a little awareness that you have the natural emotional impulse makes it pretty easy to manage. Indulge in a little Sparty hate this week, but please remember to love and respekt the folks you disagree with in the real world.
In all those places there seems to be a range from “ I do my own housework” (me) and “Madonna is my housemaid.” The “Point” that you visited is “Madonna wishes she was my housemaid.” Harbor Springs is the most remote and uncrowded, but still only 15 minutes from skiing and Petoskey. It can be a bit stuffy and the average age is deceased, but we like it. I’d do Lake Charlevoix for a family lake house for a large family.
We ended up in Harbor Springs. Less crowded than Charlevoix, TC and Petoskey, but close enough to them by boat or car. I bike and play tennis. HS/Petoskey share an indoor tennis facility, which is rare up here. Cycling in TC and Harbor Springs is awesome. Lake Charlevoix is a great choice if you like boating. Boyne City, Ironton or East Jordan are on the lake and it has direct access to the big lake through Charlevoix. The big lake is very rough about 30% of the time in the Summer. Travel time matters as well. Also, airport access. I still need to travel for my business and it takes some more planning without a big city airport. TC has pretty good connections to ORD, DTW and MSP. Pellston, not so much....
Bill Frieder was a part owner of Lamplighter when he was coach. I remember coming in the day or so after an early NCAA loss and he was behind the cash register for some reason. IIRC I said something like “You lose one game and they do this?” Got a chuckle.

Best wishes for a quick recovery from your Penix surgery.
Can’t wait for the GIF of Runyon blowing his guy off the field and into the stands!
My new name is Daxton.
Why was there no 10 second run off?
Like everything else but our DT play is a problem.
What was that preview single they released. The polyrhythmic shit was da bomb.
Doesn’t the shell get in the way?
Why couldn’t LGB Bunny get Mrs Bunny pregnant? Triblend balls. You are right, not as funny. Or is it?
