Zach Smith tries to talk shit. Sam Webb shuts him up.
Summary:
1. Sam Webb tweeted a story about 7 recruits.

He sounds so wounded in that response. Pretty clear who got the better of who in this one, not that Zach Smith had a chance.
Also he definitely knows who Sam Webb is. lol

He definitely knows who he is because he commented on Sam Webb's tweet first lol
March 23rd, 2020 at 12:18 PM ^
just wait...he's two replies from "i'll come to Ann Arbor and beat your ass" because he's (a) that kind of asshole and (b) that completely oblivious to his own reputation that he'd throw some shit like that out on Twitter.
besides its probably better than Zach doesn't think he knows who Sam is, as the less people this guy knows the less battery he can commit.
Come to Ann Arbor and beat Sam's ass? He must be assuming Sam is short for Samantha.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sam Webb told Zach Smith to order some more toys.
It was a suggestion.
But interestingly, I doubt you'll find a single Ohio State fan who would trade Brian Hartline for Zach Smith.
Besides being a greater recruiter (because he walked the walk in college and NFL), Hartline is also very clearly a far superior WR coach.
It hasn't gone unnoticed how much OSU's WRs have improved under him (which is partially a testament to Ryan Day's air raid-esque system).
If Zach Smith hadn't been Earle Bruce's grandson, Zach Smith would be cleaning toilets at a fastfood restaurant as his day job.
Come on! Outside of prison, you think Zach Smith has the qualifications to be hired to clean toilets? Seems to be a stretch to me!!! He does have that letter of recommendation from Pope Urban.
You are absolutely correct. The fan base wanted Smith gone well before any of the reports came out, solely based on his inability to develop talent. He took a guy who became one of the highest-paid WR in NFL history and turned him into a 3rd-team all-B1G player. There were flashes from guys like Noah Brown and Corey Smith, but there was never any consistency. It seemed like the guys who had success did so in spite of Zach, not because of him.
Hartline is a massive improvement in every area, from coaching to recruiting to being a decent human being. He just got a raise this off-season, and I wouldn't be surprised if that became an annual thing.

Zach Smith’s bio says survivor.. someone might want to remind him that was his wife, he was the abuser.. His victim hood knows no bounds..
March 23rd, 2020 at 11:30 AM ^
He's got the word "survivor" in quotes just as I have it written in this sentence. Makes me think it was more of a sarcastic jab at his ex-wife than him actually claiming to be a survivor of something.

Hopefully he doesn’t take it out on his ex-wife

Im speechless! That guy. Wow!
March 23rd, 2020 at 11:38 AM ^
Literally the last guy in the college football world who should ever be talking shit about anyone.
I don't know enough about the situation to be able to definitively say if his wife was an equal contributor to the madness, but I know enough to say he was a failure as a husband, he's a failure as a father, and he was sure as shit a failure as a coach. Had all the receiving talent in the world and they were all just guys.
He's a fucking bum. A shit-stain who got where he did in life solely because of who he was related to. I'd say the same thing if he coached here.

Not that we all didn’t already know the obvious but man is Zach Smith just beyond fucked up. The voice in his head never says “hold on let’s think about this for a minute”
It’s super disturbing.
March 23rd, 2020 at 12:27 PM ^
Yeah, I heard he's considering a run for office. That little voice has been drowned out in the social media era!

That fact that OSU fans still follow him AND defend him is extremely puzzling
The dude has a screw loose

The teams he coached for never lost to Michigan. Now I'd say that was in spite of his abilities rather than because of them, but he's still associated with all of that winning and that image of dominance over Michigan. So he's still one of them. Several OSU fans I've come across have even said "yeah he's an asshole, but he's our asshole."
Its the same reason they all circled the wagons around Meyer rather than questioned if he was still fit to coach. Because he won. If it was Jon Cooper who was running his mouth on Twitter after a string of domestic violence altercations, or if it was Jon Cooper who'd hired a bum like Zach Smith, not a single person amongst the OSU faithful would be defending him. There wouldn't have even been an investigation. His ass would've been rounded up within 24 hours of the story breaking, he would've been strapped down to the first train leaving the Columbus freight yard, and a line of thousands of fans would've been cheering on as he got carried out of town.
A little hyperbolic, yes, but my larger point remains the same. OSU protects people like Smith or Meyer because they were winners. Or they were at least associated with winners. If they were losers, that string would've been cut a long time ago.
They won football games. Not necessarily "winners", but their teams they are associated with won football games.
Fixed it for you.......
It makes perfect sense that they still follow him ??
Who defends him? Aside from his disaster of a personal life, he was a terrible coach. Zero skills outside of being a decent recruiter and being born into the right family.
Check the comments on the tweet exchange. There's multiple OSU fans siding with and defending Smith
That is an extremely small portion of the fan base. By and large, we all wanted him gone and wish he would go away forever.
The dude has a screw loose
I think he's got an entire hardware store that's not bolted down.
March 23rd, 2020 at 12:12 PM ^
We live in the weirdest fucking timeline right now.
March 23rd, 2020 at 12:15 PM ^
I thought Smith was in jail.
March 23rd, 2020 at 12:39 PM ^
Try it Zach.
Pretty easy for the coaches to respond to. "Oh a wife beater told your son Michigan is bad and OSU is better? Well Mrs. Recruit, I think that tells you everything you need to know."
So Smith is trying to get back into OSU nation's good graces.... he should marry Casey Anthony...
That would be great season of The Bachelor. Perfect promo The Bachelor-complete Psychos.
Astonishing. What a colossal asshole. Guess what Zach? The whole world doesn’t give a shit what you have to say about anything, so STFU. Maybe spend some time contemplating your life and how you screwed it up so badly, and what you can do to make amends.
Truly a despicable example of a "human" being!
Couple observations.
1) Social isolation has made Sam quite ornery.
2) don’t go to battle with Sam. He will go personal fast.
Any member of the Michigan media would love for Zach Smith to take a shot at them. There couldn't be a bigger target for them to fire back at and no one expects them to miss that opportunity.
The more I hear about this Zach Smith guy, the less I care for him.
He's pretty much the IRL embodiment of your screenname.
Some people seem to be ripe candidates for Corona. Smith is one of them. Hope he is self-isolating and away from his kids.
