Zach Carpenter enters transfer portal
Pretty odd to see a RS freshman center who just started enter the portal...
Michigan's first transfer is a pretty big one. Carpenter was in line to start next year. Here's what Ed Warinner said about his performance at Rutgers, when he played for an injured Andrew Vastardis. https://t.co/Rp69bYAooG pic.twitter.com/dKQnS5dhZX

First of many.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:22 PM ^
But what's important is that Harbaugh and Warde are taking their time to get it right.
Because there will always be negative recruiting.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:39 PM ^
What the hell are your coaches telling them in recruiting that they don't see once they get on campus???
You guys have been morphed by the transfer portal the last couple years.
edit: don't know why the down votes; we honestly need you to perform better than you have the last few years. need the fire breathing jimmy back...
December 10th, 2020 at 7:53 PM ^
Maybe referring to college football attrition to getting "ass-raped?"
I'm just spit-balling here.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:54 PM ^
guessing the downvotes are from people who aren't impressed by using the phrase "ass raped" as a casual synonym for "badly beaten".
That's what mine is for, anyhow.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:56 PM ^
Good point; I apologize, especially after all the crap at PSU. I changed it to at least express the sentiment.
Again, sorry for my poor choice of words.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:06 PM ^
I think you deserve a pass, seeing as how you come from a place where it's socially acceptable to defecate in a cooler.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:17 PM ^
not sure i've heard the cooler story?...but i have no doubt there's a bunch of yokels here that think that's sport!

From your own publication:

For those who arrive on campus early, will there be enough toilets?
Ohio State hopes so and says it has learned its lesson from big matchups such as the Texas game in 2005, in which cleanup crews found several soiled shorts and a few coolers filled with poop.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:10 PM ^
We much prefer the term "Jail-Sexed" around these parts.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:58 PM ^
“ass raped” isn’t the kind of language that will ever without a downvote on here. As casual language goes, that’s about as unnecessarily awkward and aggressive as it gets.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:07 PM ^
I am confident you are not on the team so “we” is likely just you and the rodent in your pocket. Plus you get negged for being a non contributing troll that offers nothing but sharts to the blog.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:10 PM ^
Fuck Off!
December 10th, 2020 at 8:14 PM ^
You have any insight into what’s going on? Tell us only good news.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:32 PM ^
Michigan is on the verge of landing 3 five star centers who are all expected to be ahead of Carpenter on the depth chart next year.
December 10th, 2020 at 9:01 PM ^
He will run over here with something as soon as Rivals or 247 posts something.
December 10th, 2020 at 9:29 PM ^
I think he’s trying to recover the password for his Chernobyl user ID first
December 10th, 2020 at 9:38 PM ^
Great, this guy again.
Feel free to visit but lecture Michigan fans from afar with your cronies at 11W.
Guy had clearly edited his content but I negged him for talking about getting negged.
December 11th, 2020 at 3:10 AM ^
Yeah, he edited.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
Lol and so it begins. This is a bit of a head scratcher though. He was in line to be the starter next season.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:29 PM ^
Might have been told that Warinner isn’t returning? That would be horrible
December 10th, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
Of all the assistants to not retain, Warriner would be my last choice, so this can’t possibly be it...can it?
December 10th, 2020 at 7:38 PM ^
Unless he can't stand working with Harbaugh and wants to get out...
December 10th, 2020 at 8:03 PM ^
Even though his son plays on the team?
December 10th, 2020 at 9:52 PM ^
Or if Harbaugh goes, he goes too.
December 10th, 2020 at 11:02 PM ^
I was under the impression that Warinner and Harbaugh were bros.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
First of many dominos I’m assuming. Gonna be a rough off-season regardless...
December 10th, 2020 at 7:56 PM ^
Jeez. No kidding. Plus this kid was like a year away from being processed out. Darn.
December 10th, 2020 at 9:52 PM ^
Yup.
I want Harbaugh to stay.
but more I want UM to not look like a bunch of putzes and act competently.
the last time I remember feeling something like that Hackett was in charge
December 10th, 2020 at 7:23 PM ^
Not good, Bob.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
Maybe because he was originally sitting behind a walk on for an under .500 team?
December 10th, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
Don't think he was happy Vastardis kept starting when he was struggling.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
What’s up danger.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:45 PM ^
JJ, you in danger, girl.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:27 PM ^
If I had to guess, he knows Harbaugh is gone and is transferring. Or he knows Harbaugh is staying and is transferring. Or he doesn't like the uncertainty and is transferring.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:29 PM ^
Nothing gets by you, does it?
December 10th, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
Unfortunately this has a Harbaugh is staying vibe.
Apparently he was upset with lack of playing time.
Hopefully I’m wrong.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:01 PM ^
He was the primary backup at center and was likely starting next season. Not sure why playing time would be a factor here.
Even if you’re upset at not starting THIS year, eligibility doesn’t count. You’d enter next year still as a redshirt freshman and the presumptive starter going into the year. Bailing because of playing time doesn’t make much sense.
December 10th, 2020 at 9:47 PM ^
Have perspective here. I highly doubt players know what's gonna happen. If so there would have been many leaks.
I'll venture to say he sees Cinci success and wants to go home.
December 10th, 2020 at 10:31 PM ^
Or the moon is in waxing gibbous and is transferring.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:27 PM ^
No white-washing this. Hard to see this as anything but a "program is toxic" escape.
Good luck winning football games next year with no center.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:28 PM ^
I mean, we were already starting a walk-on so...what do we have to lose? Lol
December 10th, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
Between 4 and 8 games, I would guess.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:34 PM ^
I’m afraid that reality was already in the cards before this announcement :/
December 10th, 2020 at 8:18 PM ^
Actually, spit out some of my drink when reading this. Well done you son-of-a-gun. Well done.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:36 PM ^
At least it’s not between 3 and 9. Ah hell, who am I kidding. Those are on the table as well. Fuck.
December 10th, 2020 at 8:44 PM ^
Well, that's better than between 3 and 9, right? I think?
December 10th, 2020 at 9:01 PM ^
I would say this is a recruiting fail. He’s a quitter and is bailing on his teammates before the last game. If that’s in his core, then the coaches really missed on this kid no matter how talented he might have been. Never quit on your teammates in the middle of a season! At the end of the year, make whatever choice you want, but don’t quit with games to play.
December 10th, 2020 at 7:37 PM ^
Stop all of the hand wringing, we will be fine. We can move one of our DT’s to the other side of the line and have them play C. /s
December 10th, 2020 at 8:23 PM ^
Has any program had more starters enter into the transfer portal? It’s one thing if it’s someone leaving because they want to play. It’s also different if it’s an isolated incident. However, this has been a trend and points to a toxic environment.
