Youth Day Thread

Here at Youth Day or formerly known as fan day. So far I've gotten the entire WRs and RBs group on Flag of Champions I. Anyone else here?

THIS!!! Everyone that is there should take advantage of being in such an iconic and amazing place. Instead, a vast majority spend their entire time waiting in line to have college players write their names in cursive on stuff...I just don't understand.

I was running steps this morning outside the stadium at the east side entrance, and right as I finished Brady comes out of the Jack Ross doors and walks right by the bottom of the stairs where I was. I stuck my sweaty hand out to him and said good luck, and he shook it and said thanks, which was gracious since I had on a bright orange Bowling Green shirt and he probably wondered why in hell some nut in a BG shirt was running steps and telling him good luck.

Took my 3 kids. 8,6 and 2. Went to the field my Daughters met the dance and cheer squad, my son watched Gibby kick field goals, ran through the tunnel, caught passes. Ignored the autograph lines. A good time was had by all.

I am going to the Minnesota game, I have row 2 seats..... plan to bring my nice camera, it has a 6" lense on it. Rule is no more the 6"s but do they really measure? I plan to just wear it on my neck, I should get great shots.

Large block M flag signed by many players and coaches.

I try to avoid get anything signed by the incoming freshmen being they have to prove themselves here first.

Notable signees are Taylor Lewan, Lloyd Carr, Gary Moeller, Jerry Hanlon, Fred Jackson, Roy Roundtree, Vincent Smith. Even got it signed by Frank Beckmann, Jim Brandstatter and Jon Falk.

It's still only in it's third year of existence so it's almost a 1/4 full.

I worked Youth Day today, at the section with Raymon Taylor, Blake Countess, and Delonte Hollowell. First of all, all three players were absolutely class acts, laughing and talking to the fans. They seemed genuinely happy to be there. Secondly, I'd say about 3/4ths of the fans there had kids of some kind, although some of the parents with toddlers seemed to be getting a lot more out of the experience than their children. Also, they put all the freshmen on the field to sign, and the line for Shane Morris was ridiculously long, like literally hundreds of people were waiting to get something signed by an 18 year old who's never taken a snap for the university. I found that a bit silly, but other than that it was a good experience.

I took my kid to youth day today and spent some time getting autographs from freshmen on the field and upperclassmen in the concession stands.  For what its worth, Derrick Green was not on the field with the freshman or in any concession stand that I saw. Wonder why!

We took the kids last year and I admit that I got exactly one autograph from one of the shorter (relatively speaking) lines, but when you have a five and six year old whose ability to wait in lines patiently is severely constrained, we tried to make the experience as entertaining and generalized as possible. That's how we approached it anyway - my kids spent a lot of time on the field and in the tunnel. My son in particular - who is now six but into football - was even asking if he could score some touchdowns himself. I wish we could have gone this year.

I took my 4-year old and all he cared about was the inflatable slides. The trip was for him so we he just kept getting in line for the slides until it was time to leave. I am hoping to work him up to the point where he will want to go and watch the games with me. I think it will be a few more years.

With my 10 and 8 year old daughters. They won "early admittance." We were told to show up at 12:45-1:00. We had choice of Coach Hoke, quarterbacks, rest of team. They led us in at 1:00 and went to the QB's. There were 300 kids that won this. We thought that we would have access early to the players. Unfortunately, we just were first in line to wait until 1:50 when they started. No parent was expecting this. Everyone else was let in at 1:30 and got in line behind us. It was not that great of a special deal. Many more people than last year. My kids liked the inflatables and the ability to play the band instruments and try on the drum majors hat. They got the signatures I just carried stuff.

Talked to Frank Clark. Asked him if he dreams of the hit put on Braxton Miller. His response, "Nope. I dream of hitting him harder this year." Awesome.

First time there and was thoroughly unimpressed with the rush that took place on the field. The areas around the bowl were better organized and flowed better but the stuff on the field was a trainwreck.
