Isn't NASCAR byob?
I went to the first NASCAR race in Kentucky (this was when I still lived in Michigan) with my older brother and his buddies.
We were in an RV which was great, but it was literally 100 degrees outside every day and the humidity was something awful. I could barely go outside the RV for more than 5 minutes at a time and I had to shower like 5 times a day.
To top it all off I ended up in jail. It was my fault, but it sucked. Good times.
I will never again go to a NASCAR event.

I usually remember things like that well, but I must have just had a shitty day as a whole then even though the Tigers won.

Second the love for Ryan Field. I like how it is integrated into Evanston, and nestled in the trees by the Lake. Didn't see too many Wildcat faithful when I went on a cold and drizzly night in November (2003), but there were pockets of old-timers here and there who were friendly, especially for a road crowd.
It's like going to Whole Foods. I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just that the socioeconomic slice is a pleasant one. Not as many hooligans as you'd see elsewhere (including our own stadium, I must say).
there should be their....
-1 for mocking 80's wrestling.
And -1 for never even mentioning the venue the event took place in, the entire point of this thread!
Boy its a tough crowd.
But yeah, it was at the Spectrum and for a "suite" it was solid gray concrete with meh amenities.
Next to the Spectrum (built in 1967, demolished in 2010) was JFK stadium (built in 1926, demolished in 1992), where the Army-Navy game used to be (saw one of those as a kid, got splinters in my ass from the old wooden benches, but they did have piss troughs in the Men's rooms like Michigan Stadium did, so JFK did have that going for it), and Veterans Stadium (built in 1971, was never liked much by anyone, and was demolished in 2004).
In the late 1980's these 3 stadiums consisted the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and had to be the worse collection of stadiums in 1 area in the country at any one time.
then you never went to a game in the Kingdome.
It's an excellent homefield advantage to play in the trop. There's the catwalk. The lighting is just different enough to make it a bit of an adjustment for players on other teams. Sadly, the homefield advantage is offset agianst NY and Bos due to there usually being more away team fans than home team fans.
...I meet your Tropicana Field and raise you a Kingdome. Grey concrete roof. Maybe 5,000 fans. Echos abounding. Like watching baseball in a mausoleum.
Went to a game at Comerica for a buddy's bachelor party and the best man had a terrible idea of buying standing room only tickets. Needless to say, by the 7th inning my feet were sore, my legs were tired, and I just wanted to sit down somewhere. When I tried to sit against the wall, the usher told me I had to stand up. I was hot, tired, and just wanted to go home.
To top it off the Tigers lost and I learned that standing room only tickets are never an option unless it is a world series game.
You Sir are one soft Boner

it is a hole. Concessions areas are filthy. Went to old Comiskey Park and threw my pants away when I got home because they were so dirty from sitting in my seat. Didn't care to much for MIS either. Won tickets and took the family to experience drunks, swearing, people wearing stuff they shouldn't. We were in turn 4 and couldn't see half the race.
The north endzone improvements/additions at Spartan Stadium are great, including new restrooms and concessions. Very aesthetic inside and out.
