You stay classy, Marcus Hall (and Columbus)
So, apparently Marcus Hall is selling signed and framed pictures of his "double bird" exit from The Game last season. I'm not sure what makes me facepalm more, the fact that this is even a thing or the egregious spelling error

And I usually cut ohio a break when it comes to academics, but this was a very staee thing to do. Shame shame.

Sorry, but: "(n)ot everybody's the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever" wins Most OSU Thing Ever. It's not even close.
(Of course, I may be biased.)

I think TP went outside himself to an almost..... Kerouacian..... place to develop that poetry. To the extent he offends with his defense of general mayhem, he atones with the wonderful language..... kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me..... Absolutely classic.
February 17th, 2014 at 2:09 PM ^
They're two damn good candidates.
The case for this Hall photo is that you have:
- a misspelling
- a guy profiting from something that he probably shouldn't profit from (not a comment about athletes earning money; just a comment about people earning money for acting like asses)
- a borderline-insane hatred of its rival
- general boorishness
It also has OSU beating Michigan, which unfortunately is becoming pretty typical OSU, too.
February 17th, 2014 at 2:34 PM ^
The case for both the yard marker and banner incidents read pretty much the same:
- one was committed by and the other sanctioned by their now-sainted head coach
- instead of apologies, both were rationalized by same after the fact(s)
- both are well remembered by both schools 40 years later. We see these as unsportsmanlike in the extreme. They are proud of them. The Hall incident may have some legs over the next half-century. His (pathetic) mispelled poster will probably not.
February 17th, 2014 at 3:32 PM ^
- The case for the Everyone Murders soliloquy being The Most OSU Thing Ever is that a person actually got on camera, with time to prepare his answer, and stated "everyone kills people, murders people, ..."
But choosing between these is understandably difficult - it's like picking between Sparty No! moments. All three incidents are so over-the-top it's hard to pick a clear winner. (My original "Reshuffle the Deck" comment was purely tongue-in-cheek, and driven by my user name.)
February 17th, 2014 at 5:08 PM ^
Could be....
I've always generally understood what was meant when an athlete goes on some crazy rant even if the words were poorly chosen (see A. Iverson - Practice). In Everyone Murders, however, I think TP's just making a statement on hypocrisy and the importance of forgiveness, but I'm not totally sure. Truly Buckeye stuff there.
The previous poster mentioned leaving a city full of shit-laden coolers after a football game. As the dinner hour descends, I think we both may be wrong.

would have been removing the five (right, Urban?) letter Ms.

issue something of an apology in the days after The Game? Or was it just for his on-field misbehavior?
Either way, this shows the world what he's all about. And, by association, what OSU is all about.

Where's you 2011 ones, bitch?
40-34.
Take THAT.
February 17th, 2014 at 10:48 AM ^
it's pretty stupid to insert the NFL logo in the lower left corner. I'm pretty sure Mr. Hall will be hearing from the League lawyers if he is indeed selling these. Duh.
February 17th, 2014 at 10:51 AM ^
I didn't even notice that until you mentioned it. Yeah, I'm thinking someone somewhere is going to be getting in a bit of trouble over that.

February 17th, 2014 at 11:32 AM ^
Even so, I bet the department would have something to say about it. I'd be surprised if U-M didn't get in touch with Mr. Hall in the form of a cease-and-desist-and-by-the-way-you-owe-us-for-the-ones-you've-already-sold letter.
February 17th, 2014 at 10:53 AM ^
but, I expect he will sell a gazillion of these to Ohio fans of all stripes. And yes, the NFL is going to have something to say about the use of its logo. You'd think that with such a money-maker, he could find someone with enough common sense to know that.
Then again, maybe you wouldn't.

A signed copy can be picked up for $19.99 on Ebay. They are also having a signing where you can pick up a 8x10 copy and have it signed for $15 or a 16x20 version signed for $25.
Get them while you can because with the NFL trying to clean up it's image and the NFL insignia on the poster, they will be rare very soon. As a potential hall of famer they will be worth hundreds (of pennies) soon.

not asked back by Urban. He is evidently a casualty of OSU over signing. I'm not sure if he had NFL plans but this could lead to some interesting interviews.

It says 4x gold pants which I take to mean he was on teams that beat UM 4 times but they lost in 2011 so that's 5 years unless he was somehow hoping to get a 6th year of eligibility.
