all are asleep still.  barn chores done.  wood stove stoked.  stockings stuffed.  going for a walk and listening to a sermon by another U of M grad.  i have the second and third verse of silent night running through my head and it is so meaningful.  when i get back it'll be 'game on', but for right now it is peaceful with some light snow falling outside.

like i said last night, merry Christmas everybody.

Well THAT was an exciting Christmas eve.

I thought I'd suddenly gotten Covid finger, with major discoloration and pain. But, to my great relief, it was only a normal—but weird—inflammation that is already better.

Wishing good health to all. God bless us, every one.

Apple butter rub for smoked meats, nice bottle of vanilla for cooking, mixing glass set, escuminac maple syrup and an Apple Watch. My family loves me very much and treats me well. Probably much better than I deserve.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Morning!!  I was woken up at 3:19 AM by a torrential downpour, after it rained all day yesterday.  I hope Santa had his foul weather gear on!  He left me a mixing bowl set and a basting cup/brush set - which will be used later with the prime rib that will be going on the smoker shortly.  Hopefully, the rain will stop so I can cook it without the deck umbrella!

Hope everyone has a great day - capped by a win in Omaheehaw this evening!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope everyone is safe, happy, full, and surrounded by love! Wife and I didn’t exchange much this year, but our 3.5 year old finally gets the magic of Christmas. She came running into our room at 7:45 this morning waking us up saying “there’s presents! Come look guys!” I fucking love being a parent.

My parents got me a new set of golf clubs, totally out of the blue. I'm 36 and can afford my own set and we are past the age of splashy xmas gifts, so it was a major surprise, but well appreciated. Calloway irons with heavy steel shafts with 3 and 4 hybrids up to the gap wedge and a cobra driver and 3 wood.

Possibly a virus. I was at O'Hare yesterday (long story ... not thrilled about air travel at this stage and feeling a little more like part of the problem than part of the solution, but whatevs) and it was every bit the COVID-19 shitshow you'd expect. I'll get back to you in a few days.

Best wishes to everyone for a great Christmas.
