Xavier Worthy may be leaving the Longhorns

As we've been basking in the afterglow of another win in The Game, losing Cade was an inevitable result of that epic win, and I wish him all the best.   Maybe we'll see him again next year in the Big Ten Championship.

Meanwhile, some teams like Texas have been hearing rumors about top players like Xavier Worthy leaving who were getting the ball.  He was the leading receiver on his team with nearly identical stats to our leading receiver, Ronnie Bell.

  • Worthy:  676 yards on 53 receptions
  • Bell:  687 yards on 51 receptions

We have fantastic team chemistry, and it's players like Bell that put the Team first, are great blockers as well as pass catchers and ultimately make the team successful.

Worthy has a big name coach, a big name QB, yet he recently deleted all mention of his current team from his social media.  Glad we've got our guys.

Reasons for his departure are why he won't come here. Let him go to a school that throws on 3rd and 2 to pad his stats. I have one that comes to mind. We'll just focus on winning with a complete team.

Diva. He had to be talked out of leaving after his freshman. Texas deserves it for tampering when he was committed here. Rumor was USC was trying the minute Riley became HC. They deserve each other.

Dude stop believing those stupid conspiracy theories. Do you really think Jim would allow Gattis to coach here if he slept with a recruits mother? If you heatd that, im sure other coaches have heard the same BS. He's a Diva because he believes he should get the ball every play. Do some real research. He's a Diva because dude doesn't put in work. He's the exact same size he was when he reported his freshman yr. He had to be talked off the cliff last yr, only to be doing the same thing this yr.

Yes, he was VERY unhappy with how much he was targeted this year. and there was real talk he was leaving. But (apparently) Steve Sarkasian has smoothed all the ruffled feathers. I made sure I put that apparently there.

And here's the vicious cycle this will create.  Don't get enough touches, leave. Don't know the offense on your new team, don't get enough touches. Teams that try to spread the ball around too much to appease everyone lose. Losing teams will eventually stop drawing recruits once NIL stabilizes.
