"The Wreck of The Jim Harbaugh Era" (Gordon Lightfoot parody)

Apologies if already posted, but I couldn't see that anyone had beat me to it.

Anyways, in the midst of our existential and collective pain, there is still beauty in this word.

The legend lives on from Fielding Yost on down

Of the men that they call Michiganders

The maize and blue lads, who’ll rise up and stand

Against any old Big Ten defenders

Lloyd Carr he was it, national title he split

A branch off the tree of Schembechler

When Coach Carr retired, the school was inspired

To think there were things they could do better

They hired the pride of the Mountaineer side

A spread-gun coach named Rich Rodriguez

Read the whole thing; it's truly glorious - I guess you do have to suffer to create art.

I'd ban so many people here if given the button. I'm certain that most of the stupid shit is from rival fans trolling, and the rest are probably multiple accounts from the usual 2-3 fucktards.

Having been an amateur parody lyricist since my college days 50 years ago, I also appreciate the work that goes into creating those lyrics, especially when you’re dealing with complicated songs like “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” with its interior rhyme schemes.

I wrote one of those “Bounds of BPONE” parody songs last December, so I also know that it’s never easy to use a parody during times of despair. While the Michigan football fanbase is in mourning, it’s probably not the best time to be adding to the pain. I'd be happy to hear this song played in the Big House after Michigan wins on Saturday. Go Blue!

I’d support those bans! I’m upset, but it’s just crazy to wanna chase Harbaugh out. Christ every program minus a couple has down years and I knew the defensive side was going to regardless. Put in the highly recruited frosh and let them learn. I can’t believe that one of highest players we’ve recruited can’t offer some upside as well as a couple of 300lb hogs in the middle. My biggest bitch is we continue to do the same thing over and over expecting different results. Harbaugh will get it fixed or he won’t, but firing a guy who can coach is insane. Yeah let’s go back to the RR/Hoke years.

Still think it's all mostly rival fans.

Which makes me think avoiding any rash conclusions or changes away from the current Head Coach is the best approach.
