Would You Be Satisfied With The Season if UM Won Out?

So hypothetical let's say the team can build on the positive things we saw against PSU and wins out including a miraculous upset of OSU. Would you be satisfied with the season if that happened, even if it did not result in a conference title? I lean towards yes because 10-2 is a good record given the schedule, they would have beat all their rivals, and at least changed a couple of the narratives surrounding the program coming into the year.

Just beat OSU and I don’t care if UM is 10-2,9-3 or 8-4. Need to finish the year on a high note to help recruiting. These season ending swan dives just kill any recruiting momentum. Roster weaknesses are as much a factor as coaching. It’s hard to cover up thin areas on the roster. It’s a new area every year it seems.

As others have stated, yes. I'd even be content, hell ecstatic if the only remaining loss was to ND or MSU and we beat OSU at the end of it. That monkey has been on the back of this program for too long and would make a lot of people forget the woes along the way.

Yes. Beating all three rivals and ending the season in the top-10 seems good. It would also bode well for the future, since it would mean that the Gattisbaugh offense can work and be refined going forward.

We all saw the second half on Saturday night. If Michigan plays that level or better the rest of the way out, they have every reason to be in or win every game. No guarantees against ND or OSU even with that effort. MSU stands no chance if Michigan plays like that against them. If they win out, there is no question we should be happy. It would signify major wins, a program finally progressing, probably vindicate Harbaugh's choice of OC, and lead into a major bowl game that could be another big win and propel recruiting forward.

TL; DR: Yes, please.

No-brainer yes, because beating OSU is on there.

The season isn't finished. Lose to ND, lose to OSU... that's four losses including most of our big games and another loss to OSU and a heartbreak after all the disappointment.

I'd have taken this deal before the season began, too.

Seeing it actually happen is a different story entirely.

Michigan is going to finish 8-4 but probably 7-5 this season.

Like many here, I'm already at Acceptance Station.

I suggest more of you hurry up and arrive here also.

It's better for your mental well-being.

Everything is going to be fine.  I'm OK. You're OK.

Don't need Penn State to lose three. If they lost to MSU and Penn State and OSU loses to Wisky Michigan wins a three way tiebreaker. Head to head is the first one, but they would all be 1-1 against each other and second tiebreaker would be record against teams in the division. UM would win that tiebreaker in that case.

Can I be greedy and go for 11-2 with a bowl victory?  That wouldn't be such a bad consolation prize.  Also keeps the buzz around the program reasonably positive which is good for recruiting and some good momentum for heading into 2020.

100%.

Beat ND, MSU and OSU after starting the way they did? They would have picked themselves off the mat after getting stomped by Wisconsin and losing a heartbreaker vs PSU.

Yes.

Not sure this will happen as OSU looks so strong.  10 - 3 is not out of the question, if we can beat Notre Dame next Saturday.  "All" we would need to do then is beat MD, MSU and IN and win an inconsequential bowl game to get to 10 - 3 assuming an OSU loss.

I would be fine with that.

Beyond satisfied. That means beating all three rivals, including what will likely be a top-3 OSU squad, and winning a major bowl game. 10-2 with a big-time win over OSU definitely gets UM into the NY6, and you win that game and end the year 11-2....well....it doesn't erase all of the bad, but man oh man does it shut a lot of critics up going into the offseason.

Last week was an inflection point.

I saw it in the coaching

I saw it in the players

I saw it in play calling

I saw it in execution

The better team lost after getting screwed early by the refs, but that was the first time since 2016 that I felt UM was heading in the right direction.

I would not at all be surprised if we win out, even beat that OSU machine.  I think this program may have righted the ship yesterday.

The problem is that it's year 5. For year 5 in the tenure of a coach who was hailed as the second coming of Jesus, "getting punched in the mouth" in the first half of a big road game is not okay, especially when he's 0-4 against OSU and has yet to play for a B1G championship, let alone win one.

Think of it this way: If someone told you on December 29, 2014 that after four and a half seasons, Harbaugh will still be winless against OSU, will have gone 1-9 against top ten teams, and our B1G championship drought would be ongoing, would you be okay with that?

No I wouldn't be satisfied, but it's better that I expected at this point. Coming into the season, I didn't think we would beat OSU, and I thought we would beat Wisconsin, and split with ND and Penn St and I honestly thought MSU would be a toss up, but now......

Of course I'd be satisfied. I'd be more than satisfied:  I'd be ecstatic. 10 - 2 with a win over ND and not only ND, a win over hated OSU? What moron wouldn't be satisfied?

For me, I'd be satisfied with 9 - 3 and a loss to OSU. (Although if I could choose, I'd take 9 - 3 or 8 - 4 and a win over OSU.)

I actually half expect 8 - 4. While I wouldn't be satisfied, I wouldn't be upset. The team can only do so much.

The thing that I'm happiest about is I believe, I truly believe, that Michigan is on the way back after many years in the wilderness. I believed Harbaugh when he said the offense was "making strides," and I still believe it. I believe the OL has finally turned the corner, and it could FINALLY be good not just this year, but next year. and following years. Please keep Warinner. I also believe Gattis has been unnecessarily ripped, and that the offense is hitting their groove this year, and will be much better next year. Please, don't can the guy.

Lastly, what would really satisfy me would be for there to be no early entries to the draft. I know everyone is saying we are going to lose one or two WR's early. I would love for them ALL to come back in order to prove something.
