Worst game plan I have ever seen.

OSUs gameplan today was atrocious. Ive never been so stunned by play calling throughout a game. That MSU secondary is weak as hell and OSU took what? 2 shots the entire game? One of which included Braxton Miller breaking wide open. They never once tried that again. It just made no god damn sense. Personally, i think the way things went today helps our chances a lot next week. Just sucks that unless MSU chokes, The Game means nothing more than bragging rights. Which btw, is enough for me to be jacked up. Just wish it was for Indy, straight up.

There's absolutely no way they were intentionally throwing the game. I mean, I know they hate us, but they just cost themselves a chance to go for back to back national championships.

That's not to say Urban wanted to lose. Certainly his players did not! But the playcalling was mystifyingly atrocious. It may not have been intentional, but MSU got another gift there.

I was actually talking with Steve Lorenz about this.

We both think that MGoBlue removing the redshirt year citation on the roster online and the roster STILL not being updated (still the same heights and weights from August), is a tactic to screw with the opponent.

It obviously has fooled James Franklin, as that's not how many seniors we're playing. It really wouldn't surprise me given how detailed Harbaugh is.

It's quite odd that Football is the only roster on MGoBlue that doesn't have the RS citation on it and still has yet to be updated in terms of heighs and weights.

That, or it could also be due to the fact that a number of the rs juniors are going to get a firm handshake and no 5th year after the season. Just a guess, but it seems possible

But if I remember right, it's something Harbaugh inherited there. I think it had started the year before he arrived.

I don't think I've seen it anywhere but Stanford and Michigan...except the service academies, where it obviously makes sense because nobody gets a fifth year.

That may actually be good for them. Franklin is an elite recruiter and he is filling up the cupboard with blue chip guys. If he can't get it together in 2-3 years fire him and the next guy is ready to hit the ground running (like us with Hoke to Harbaugh). Coming off of their sanctions the best thing for them is to fill that roster up with elite talent as quickly as possible and Franklin has been excellent at that. They can keep Franklin in a holding pattern until the identify their version of Harbaugh and hire him.

I'm calling it now. It'll be that ugly midseason game that they snuck by midseason and we all say "they're not that good"...and PSU will pull it out late.

The only reason people have given up is because MSU beat OSU and we beat PSU.

But if this game was 4 games ago, there would be a ton of people thinking PSU had a shot.

I thought the same thing. State has a strong run defense, and a terrible pass defense, so let's run the ball 95% of the time. What could go wrong?! Five 1st downs in 4 quarters. They only scored after total fluke turnovers already in the red zone. OSU was lucky to score at all. Urban needs to find qbs that can, ya know, throw the ball..

have a question about when they'll announce the playoff and bowl game matchups. Army Navy don't play until Dec 12, the week after everyone else finishes. Normally this wouldn't matter, but navy is in position to go to a NY6 game as the highest ranked non-P5 team right? So are they going to wait to announce the matchups until after they see if navy beats army?

No, they will announce the playoff and other bowls the Sunday after the season. If Navy is in line to qualify for a NY6 bowl then the committee will leave that slot open for Navy pending a win over Army the following week. If Navy loses, then that spot would go the next highest rated group of 5 team.

Guess that makes sense. So they would have to re-release the rankings if navy were to lose in order to show which team potentially passed them for the bid. Unlikely scenario, I know, but interesting nonetheless.

I know everyone is upset that Ohio State lost, but keep in mind Ohio State lost.

Our playoff shot is down to 1/20 maybe? Even if we win and Sparty loses, our win won't have the juice we hoped it would. I wanted in but so be it.

We can still beat the Buckeyes, get 10 wins, and have a hell of a first Harbaugh year when 7.5 was the over under. Remember were we were last year at this time?

MSU had essentially the same game plan but executed better. The wind was a major factor in neither team passing much and MSU got to pick field direction on the coin toss. Now Urbz not using TO's with over a minute left, that's a big WTF
