Four months of crystal balls and so-called experts saying that signs are increasingly pointing to Michigan just to have him go somewhere else. Look on the bright side, at least we can look forward to Todd announcing that he's not coming.

Nice reminder that the "experts" on recruiting services dont really know shit when it comes down to it. 11/11 had JC balled to us.

Now it is of utmost importance that we keep Todd locked in. Without Todd the class would be pretty mediocre for Michigan basketball standards

Lastly, Why did David Dejulius transfer? PG wouldve been Smith and DDJ. Brooks wouldnt need to play PG at all

“Pretty mediocre?” Ugh, sometimes I wish our basketball fans would just pipe down when they know this little. That mediocre class would still have 3 guys in the top 90 players in the nation and would also include a 3 star walk on with offers from Dayton, St Louis, and San Diego State

The post I was responding to didn’t say mediocre compared to the fab five. It was mediocre compared to Michigan standards, which wouldn’t be at all accurate.

Also, I have no clue how you can predict if any of them will be day one starters. Dickinson has a very good chance at it. If Livers and Franz both declare, Williams could as he is the most college ready of the commits. Plus, with everyone complaining about guard depth, you have no idea if Jackson could start along with Brooks.

Im not sure how you cant see this would be a very bad turn of events. Losing DDJ, Losing Todd, plus not getting Christopher is about the worst case scenario for how all of this could go

Yes, Dickenson, Zeb, and Williams are good recruits but I dont think any of them can come in and contribute much right away.

I’m never following recruiting again. Not any sport. Never. I’ll root for them after they sign the dotted line.

Nice enough kid, but he trolled everyone including Sam Webb, Juwan, etc.

Sure seems he at least trolled all the reporters/insiders considering they ALL got it wrong

What would be majorly fucked is if he trolled Coach Howard into thinking he was coming to Michigan which led to DDJ transferring because he was told there wouldnt be many minutes

This right here. Was discussing with my brother this morning and he was in disgust over this kid and how selfish he was to troll like this. I get it. It’s fun for the recruits, but now DDJ is gone, Jace isn’t taking a scholarship (prolly can be easily changed now?) and this program had all its eggs in the one basket. We could surely use another guard or off ball type, and have nothing left to work with. The class is still great with some great additions of kids who will likely be here for a few years at least.

But it definitely looks ugly when you take that perspective. Hope things work out for the young man, but yeah, I’m pretty bitter about it and have been trying to cut ties with my crazed fandom. I am hoping this one cuts the cord for my finally.

Unfortunately, this is becoming the norm with many of these 5 star basketball players.  They're told how great they are by everyone from the time they start showing any talent.  Unless they have a strong parent to keep them grounded, this is the result.  I feel sorry for Coach Howard especially.  Beilein learned this the hard way too.

I bet he was never not going to play with his brother. He just told people differently so that when he announced it would be a "shock" announcement, a la Lebron taking his talents to South Beach. It just so happens that he chose Michigan to be his red herring.

Mitch Albom, of all people, said it best about recruiting when he wrote Fab Five

Chase 'em. Replace 'em.

There will be another one next year, fellas.

I'm not even mad anymore...its so fucking ridiculous...all I can do is laugh at the the irony of players transferring out to free up scholarships only for us to not use them all. Who the hell is our shooting guard next year?

We will replace Simpson with a higher scorer but way less of a distributor in Smith. Brooks will be Brooks at the 2. Franz and Livers (barring he stays) should improve from where they were this year (Franz for sure, Livers hopefully will play at “healthy Livers level). We replace Teske with his backup or a very raw freshman who is not a Mitch McGary type freshman.

The bench, we lose our guard spark plug in DDJ for reasons no one understands and replaces him with a freshman who didn’t even play more than 10 minutes a game his senior year. The two spot is either the worst rotational player in recent memory or a guy who couldn’t bear out said player. Front court depth is okay with Johns, Todd, and Davis/Dickenson and maybe Williams is ready to provide minutes.

I’ll give next years team 3 more wins than this year’s team

Oh well, people have to do what they think is best for them.

I'm curious to read what Matt's insight on the situation is.

Maybe DDJ decides to stay. Maybe not.

Regardless, I still like what Michigan has coming back and coming in.

Juwan still has the program headed in the good direction.

I'm just genuinely confused what happened. All of the insiders said he was going to Michigan. There were multiple reports that his family didn't like Hurley and they loved Juwan. I almost wanna say that Josh saw all the crystal balls and predictions to Michigan, then did the complete opposite just for the attention
