well deserved, those guys play well together.
and that awards particularly meaningful as i believe every OL coach votes

Such a team effort too, from all the lineman, the tight ends, the running backs and the wide receivers. Everyone has been a willing and able blocker this year in both the running game and passing game. Awesome year.

Sherrone Moore, Joe Moore, sounds a bit fishy. Must be the reason Sparty didn’t win the award.
December 21st, 2021 at 5:10 PM ^
Didn't we have zero guys make 1st 2nd or 3rd team all big ten?
December 21st, 2021 at 7:21 PM ^
I guess the sum is greater than the parts

Talk about a miscarriage of justice. Whatever at this point. Hopefully they show how good they are against Georgia by punching them in the mouth for 4 quarters.

Somebody oughta buy The Hogs a big fat steak!

Awesome picture!

Is that whole thing the award? It could be like a bar in your house!
December 21st, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
Thanks for the picture!
I saw the video presenting them the award but I couldn't find a good picture of the award with a person to show how ridiculously massive & awesome this trophy is

There’s a lot of 5 times in XL in this picture. Cade was in no danger of getting his ass kicked that night. I remember the time line of this picture and a fanbase that wasn’t completely sold on our QB. Glad we all ate a healthy dose of crow.

The big uglies earned this award! A hearty congrats to them!!
December 21st, 2021 at 5:26 PM ^
I heard they deliver a 6 foot Joe Moore statute to campus for the year.
December 21st, 2021 at 5:28 PM ^
IMHO, this should be the lead on MGoBlog. What a year they had, and an incredibly bright future ahead. Go bless the big fellas, and their coaches and analysts.

Congrats to the unit but especially to former walk-on,6th yr senior, captain, and my buddy Andrew Vastardis! ( yes he knows my name and we’ve been cordial for at least 4 years). Many on here thought that he would be an inadequate replacement for Ruiz, but I am so happy for him and his success. Truly a nice man. Go Blue.
December 21st, 2021 at 5:42 PM ^
Vastardis was our overall most valuable OL this year. LGB! Let's Go Blue.
December 21st, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
This is a huge tribute to Captain Vastardis and his leadership. Every time I see him on the sidelines, he’s smiling and engaged. Big reason the OL gelled this season. What a team! Bust them bad doggies, boys.

Fantastic job by Sherrone and all of the players! Warriner who…

Go Blue! That’s huge. I saw Mason Cole playing for the Vikings last night on MNF. (He got beat for a sack). Remember when he was our only non-cyan guy on the line? We’ve come a long way baby.

Seems like Harbaugh knew what he was doing when he moved Sherrone Moore to OL. No coach is perfect, but it doesn't come as much of a surprise that he knew more than people angry on the internet.

Go Blue!
December 21st, 2021 at 5:50 PM ^
So great, both the news and them.
December 21st, 2021 at 5:58 PM ^
well deserved for sure.
mea culpa - when Warriner left and Moore was tabbed as his replacement, I wasn't sure if this was a good thing considering he had never coached OL before (granted, he was an OL in college).
After hearing that he actually did a lot of coaching of the OL last year, I was a bit less skeptical, but still uncertain.
Obviously he, along with all the new hires, was a homerun. I am hoping that the entire staff will be around for a while as they have really done an impressive job this year

Agree 100%. I kept it to myself but I had my doubts about this one… having some experience coaching o-line, I figured this to be a rough transition.
Also, I have to admit I didn’t expect the Macdonald hire to pay immediate dividends because it seems difficult to transition a college team defensive scheme in one season. I need to look into the data as to how often a d coordinator change leads to significant improvement in year 1 at the college level.
That is my confession for now…

If we had fired Harbaugh, out the door would have been the coach of the year, assistant coach of the year, ol coach of the year, rb coach... just incredible the amazing year we are having.
I like this team!
December 21st, 2021 at 7:02 PM ^
Wow! That is amazing!!
December 21st, 2021 at 7:02 PM ^
Congrats to all of them. Very well deserved
December 21st, 2021 at 7:54 PM ^
Nope. Still not better of an award than a text from John Madden.
Go Blue!

Best trophy ever! Basically a team award and it’s the size of a wet bar! ??
“ain’t it great to be a mule!”

The announcement undersells it. Michigan was allowed 27 tackles for a loss. The second fewest was 40. Michigan is second in sacks allowed/(attempts + sacks) to Western Kentucky. FYI Georgia is fourth, allowing one more sack with 9 fewer attempts.
December 21st, 2021 at 9:24 PM ^
To be fair, this OL never had to face Hutchinson/Ojabo in a game. That has to help their stats.
December 21st, 2021 at 10:31 PM ^
To be fair, they faced both of them every day in practice. Iron sharpens iron. That’s what helped their stats :)

Uber congratulations to Sherrone Moore!!
A great O Line handed to him by Ed Warinner was taken to the next level by him. Excellent work!!

Now this is an award that makes me happy. The foundation of future success is always the line. Well done coach!
