Will there be “Jimmy Stats - Offense / Defense in review”?

Submitted by Kreeker on July 16th, 2023 at 8:27 AM

I sincerely hope I did not miss this post, I checked the search engine on this site and through Google and could only find last year’s.

https://www.mgoblog.com/content/what-we-learned-ufr-2021-data-offense

I am curious if there is going to be a Jimmy stats overall review of the offense and Defense from 2022?  I personally love these posts and find them so interesting to see over the course of a year how the offenses and or defense shifted its focus, personal, and to some extent philosophy.

Thanks for everything you guys do, happy Sunday!

I check out his profile and see he is a white kid.  Instantly think, "good route runner, possession reciever".  Then read up on him.  Kid is fricken fast and athletic.  How horrible is it i judge a white receiver like Wes Welker all the time, and not like Don Beebe.

my guess is teams that’ll be interested in Harbaugh this off-season? Bills at #2 is what’s throwing me off. It would be dumb to fire McDermott for JH unless they miss the playoffs or a bad first round playoff exit. And Rams only work if McVay leaves but would be a terrible job for JH to take. So maybe I’m wrong and it’s something else.

How about posting your own OP rather than hijacking someone else's thread?  Your thoughts could ---and SHOULD---have been posted just two threads down in the earlier  "...Shipp has sailed"  thread.  Do better.

Is a brief suspension of your account maybe the solution, if you continue doing this?

No problem with him posting his thoughts, but we're not going to have a separate set of "GoJ rules" while blatant thread hijackings by anyone else are discouraged.

MGoUser "Kreeker" took the time to start his own thread with a legitimate question/his love for the "Jimmy Stats" features, and it immediately got sidetracked by someone who absolutely should know better.

[Edit @ 5:05 pm:

Addressing you directly, "GoJ" : obviously you don't like that I called you out today, as I see you just negged all three of my posts here in which I called you out for hijacking this thread.

How about we take this to the Mod Sticky thread, where I'll be more than happy to address any and all concerns  -rob f]

The site has gotten far less active compared to when I initially got hip to it years ago. I agree, I'm not sure a mod creating this type of drama over one rogue post occasionally from someone who actually brings good info from time to time is the best move. "Let's take it to the mod thread"....check out the fun police *fart noise*

What's so difficult to understand about a post already up (and still active today) about Jordan Shipp that is just two posts below this one? A post, BTW, that was on page one all day long on Sunday.

And it's not the first time GoJ has run into controversy about his post placement, numerous other similar posts by him that have hijacked threads have caused controversy in the past when others have objected to him sidetracking discussion threads.  But this time, being that it IMMEDIATELY hijacked Kreeker's thread before it had an opportunity to develop into the intended discussion, I addressed it accordingly.

His hit rate is worse than a roll of the dice. His fake insights are no different than the other fake insiders that disappeared when they were either found out or their insights were so embarrassing that they dare not show up again.

The only reason his fake insights are popular is he paints everything with rose colored glasses and a guessing game. Fans want to naturally believe the rosy projections.  Of course all of his fake insights, like the other fake insiders, are painted with the same grey shaded brush a horoscope or tarot card reader will use.

That’s a great point about that awesome piece put together by PopeLando, and honestly, his post made me hungrier to dig into the new info from the 2022 season.  I thought the overall takeaways from his post were great from a larger historical perspective of both Harbaugh and Michigan.

What I hope to get, and have enjoyed getting, out of the Jimmy stats collective overview is the nuance of formations, personal, run type (zone vs gap), coverage (man versus zone), blitz rates, and so on.

I don’t have a good reason for asking about this information. As a self proclaimed football nerd, I just find it all so interesting and appreciate the effort that goes into it.

I'd like to apologize to you, Kreeker, for anything on my part that might have unintentionally fed (rather than extinguish) the flames on your thread today.

Hindsight tells me I should have directed my moderating efforts more quickly to the Moderator Sticky thread rather than here, once I finished initially addressing the hijacking of your discussion.

Let's reboot Kreeker's thread:

Damn.  I come here almost every day not knowing what to expect on the board, including arguing about stuff posted on the board. Coach Prime, Amazon Prime, breaking codes, ect.

SNL gif. Wearing a dark blue suit, a smiling Kenan Thompson speaks to us as he snacks from a bucket of popcorn. Text, "You're all doing great."
