Who will be kicking field goals this season?
I haven’t seen this talked about and this is very important to the teams success. On the roster we have Moody and Nordin obviously, but I also see another guy. Alan Selzer a senior from Dallas. Nordin has so much power, but has he gotten it together? and I also heard rumors he was leaving or removed from the team? Anyone have any insight on this? and what’s your prediction for who will be kicking field goals this year?
I would love to have a guy like R Hamilton or G Rivas. I just want to be good at this position so it doesn’t cost us.
Moody. He was 9-10 and his miss was from 52 yards, and that was only like a yard wide. Also was perfect on XPs.
This is the simple answer yes. I have a hard time believing that Nordin would still be here if he didn’t think he had a solid chance at it. Moody definitely looked good, but probably not the leg talent of Nordin. Hopefully someone has some insight on this.
Moody has 3 of the 6 longest FGs in Michigan HS history (58 yrd long). Nordin's longest ever IN A GAME is 55 yards. Leg strength should not be a question.
Not to mention, he is younger, more accurate, doesn't shank extra points or kick ugly kicks (even if they go through). It's 100% Moody until he starts missing.
Nordin appeared to have a case of the yips last year. Once that happens, it's typically over for a kicker. I can't remember any kicker getting it back together once that stuff started happening. Yips are a career killer.
Looks like my golf game after I shank a couple. Either start drinking or need a distraction to get on track
I think bigfoot takes over before the B1G part of the season starts.

Nordin has the best raw talent but I hope he can put it together this season? I think Nordin is still on the team roster unless something happened during the last month.
I don't think Nordin necessarily has more raw talent. Moody by everything we've seen so far has as strong of a leg.

I agree that Moody is more accurate overall. If Nordin could improve on his accuracy he would be great and would be capable of kicking one of those game winning 60 yd FG. The FG kicking is the least of our worries this season. Who ever performs the best in camp should get the start. Plus, if the starter end up getting the shanks during the season, we can always pull the backup who would be a good FG kicker.

I’ve been anticipating a UMBIG11 info drop for a few weeks since he commented that he would drop one after the World Series. I’m thinking kicking will be addressed in his info since some Nordin rumors have flown around since the beginning of the offseason.
I believe he gets his info from a family Facebook group. I know someone on that fbook group and they say there hasn’t been a peep about the kickers and really not any news at all. Maybe this is why he hasn’t shared any info or maybe my person doesn’t want to share anything with me. Or maybe, I’m wrong and he gets his info somewhere else, but most I’ve seen him post is what has been on that fbook share.
Well it is a dead period and coaches are on vacation, and can't actually coach the players, so there's that...
Maybe people in that group get their info from him.
