Who Gets Denarded This Offseason

This time last year, how many of you were thinking "I can't wait until next year when Denard Robinson will become one of the most dynamic and statistically dominant offensive players in Michigan history."  Or were you thinking, "Next Year Denard could be a great slot or maybe even a 3rd down/wildcat threat."  The point is, I think we are way to quick at dismissing young players on this board.  This year, since so many starters struggled, the assumption seems to be that every young kid riding the bench must be even worse.  Or even worse, true freshmen who were forced to play and got blown up were written off (ie. Cullen Christian).  Sure, but that is the nature of being a young player, there is the distinct possibly of massive improvement.  So on a more positive note, I just want to start a prediction thread on which young players (2011 underclassmen) will have big break-out seasons next year.

My Picks:

1.  Courtney Avery-  Will become a lock down man coverage corner in the new scheme

2.  Issiah Bell -  Needed extra time after transforming body into linebacker.

3.  Fitz - The big health if.  But if man...if.

As a little side experiment, I will tally all the votes and post results next week.  One thing I want to look for is if there is a correlation between mgopoints and the accuracy of prediction. That will have to wait until next year, but I  always wanted to know if spending this much time on this site makes someone more knowledgeable in a meaningful way.  So don't let me down 10,000+ pointers.

So let me get this

So let me get this straight... you're saying

a) You can't predict who will improve greatly

followed by

b) You want us to predict who will improve greatly

I'll play along.  Will Campbell.

What's tough to get here?

I just want people to predict who they think will make "the leap" next year.  It's Feb and a fun and simple exercise.

Me too! I think Carvin Johnson is going to have a big year. He just seems like a kid who knows how to play the game to me. Too bad he was banged up last year.

I am more worried about who

I am more worried about who will be anti-Denarded on the offensive side of the ball. I am thinking M-Rob has a good chance to become "good" on the defensive side. I won't say anyone will take a leap like Denard did. I will also go on record as saying Denard will not be statistically superior than he was last season for the rest of his career. RR has a way with turning QBs into superstars.

Denard doesn't need to be

Denard doesn't need to be statistically superior to 2010. That's not the relevant issue. What's more important is keeping him healthy, finding running backs that actually run the ball, setting up play-action off the rushing threats of Denard and the RBs, and utlizing Denard's legs in a similar manner to Cam Newton at Auburn.

Oh, and RR is gone. Borges will do just as well with Denard and Devin, and he'll probably get way more out of the RBs, Stonum, Hemingway, and Koger than RR ever could.

"Borges will do just as well with Denard'

I should bookmark this. You are so, very wrong.

RR - King, White, Denard

Borges - McNown... ... ....

It's all good though, Kool Aid is great!!

Borges coached up

Campbell at AU.  And then just look at LIndley's stats this year if you still think Borges can't coach QB

Yeah, let's not forget that

Yeah, let's not forget that Borges coached Kyle Boller at California in 2001 as the team's offensive coordinator. Boller was an excellent college QB.

Kyle Boller?

Did you really just mention Kyle Boller?  I'll respectfully request that you never use that name in the same conversation about Denard Robinson ever again.  Blasphemy!

I'm growing very tired

of your lame-ass attitude toward the 2011 team. Be a man and quit whining like a bitch. If you don't like it, root for somebody else. It's that fucking simple, "dude." Winning football games isn't about your favorite scheme. It's about beating the other team.

Ha ha ha I will defintely do

Ha ha ha I will defintely do it since the anon board poster told me to!

I actually go to the school so I will be a fan forever. This hire was a poor decision in my opinion (and everyones until "defense smash everyone like?" speech).

I am entitled to my opinion.

Thanks for acting like a child, though.

"Your opinion isn't my opinion so you should go away!!!" That works really well in all sorts of situations!

opinion

Dudeness, I agree that you are entitled to your opinion.  And I agree that you are free to express is here on this Michigan blog.

BUT, your opinion had nothing to do with this thread.  It is as if you are looking for every possible chance to spout how much you do not love the Hoke / Borges hire and how disappointed that Denard will not run up gaudy (although meaningless, if we don't win) stats.  We all get it, and there are plenty of threads where it fits.  Here, the OP was just asking for predictions about who will IMPROVE.  This wasn't a thread about who will drop off (which Denard's stats might, but which has no bearing upon his effective running of the offense).

Also, not "everyone" thought that the Hoke hire was bad before his speech.  I was advocating for Hoke before the hire on this blog.  Others were, as well.  In fact, after SDSU kicked Navy's ass in the bowl game, there was a thread on the board that had 200+ comments, if I recall, and many were of the "wow, this offense looks good, diverse and well run" and "sign me up" variety.

Finally, why are you so quick to write off Borges with respect to Denard?  I know that Denard put up big numbers, but even you must admit that:

(1) running as much as he did got him banged up, slowing down his running AND throwing games, and

(2) while Denard put up big numbers, our offense as a unit struggled against the better defenses.

The dude has a right... BUT also has a point...

Only Rich Rod saw DRob at QB IIRC.  The only other guy (in D-1 ball)  in the country who has an O built for DRob is Kelly in Oregon.  All due respect to McNown and Campbell...DRob is a special case.  Borges is not likely to use DRob to the best of his ability given the playbook he's bringing to Michigan.  Of course he will be successful...but the days of "every play is like play action" are more than likely done.

I will gladly eat this post in April when I see what the future brings (though we are likely looking at a season of tweeks regardless of the scheme we see in the spring game.)

Embedded threads can wander off topic...I don't see any problem with that.

Call me crazy

Call me crazy, but I love the pessimism.  If you're asking me, he's earned it.  Its been an extremely sh-tty past few months (years) and has caused many to question the framework of the institution that is Michigan football.  So I think people that have a "show me" attitude are well within their rights to have it, and His Dudeness has earned his right to assert it here on the Board.  Those that do not like it, dispute it with facts and examples.  Do not simply demean.  Show some respect to your elders.

Arguments tend to become stupid any time someone starts talking about "rights".  He has his rights to whine like a bitch on this message board, just like other people have their rights to call him out on it.

What do you mean by elders anyway?  Was that an ill-advised joke?

Inalienable Rights.

America was built on certain inalienable rights - the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  And The Dudeness earned an additional right after suffering through the past several months of Michigan football hell - the right to be a damned negative as he wants.  Who are you to question his rights?  What happened to give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses?

Oh, and I don't make ill-advised jokes.  All of my jokes are well-advised, thank you very much.

My tenure at Michigan started

My tenure at Michigan started in 2008 and ends this year... I have been in this school for the worst three years of football ever. I was under the impression we were building something and that was torn from us (me) right when I though we were going to crack through and get back to murder ball and winning football. I don't want to sound like a whiney bitch, but I feel like I have been cheated. When I talk about the good old days when I went to Michigan I will tell stories about RR and people will laugh and say how much that sucked, but I see it differently. I thought we were building something and held in my anger for this time because I thought we would see it through. That's my problem.

Dudeness

Your tenure on football Saturdays at the Big House never has to end.  There is more at stake here than the 2011 season.  The "decision" was based on the health and longevity of the program.  The year of RR was shaping up to be 2012, your were bound to be cheated either way.

I agree with that. I got to participate in the Michigan tradition of losing the Rose Bowl...twice. I barely go more than day without daydreaming about what might've happened if Shazor kept his hands together...

They have picked their particular positions on the issue and by Schembechler, they will stick to their guns.  Admirable, intractable, and practically immune to the ban-hammer and negging due to the gargantuan numbers of points they have acquired over the years, these characters continue to advance their agendas and argue with other posters to this very day.

I think you're wrong and the

I think you're wrong and the OP is correct. Overall, Denard will do as well, if not better, in the new offense. For one thing, he'll be a year older. For another, the offense will mix it up more, thereby preventing defenses from keying on Denard. By the end of last season, after the first couples series, they were basically keeping him in check (and beating the crap out of him). He won't get as many rushing yards, but he'll get more passing yards.

We'll see...

Squishing the field into an old-school offensive set is probably going to mean that there will be less mismatches in the secondary, and there won't be nearly as many big plays as there were.  If Borges can continue to have this team in the top ten of total offense, and take advantage of the fact that a team with upperclassmen usually closes more drives than a team full of underclassmen, I will be impressed.

But I don't see him "getting more out of" skill players on offense than "RR ever could."  And really, the discussion shouldn't have turned into yet another bullshit-laden, "Hoke/Borges vs RR/Magee" thread.

What RR would have gotten really doesn't matter right now.  What matters is Hoke and Borges finding a way to help these kids pefrorm to their full potential.  Thankfully, Borges' offense looks a lot more like that of Skip Holtz than it does like the "old school" 1980's offense that so many in Ann Arbor think will still work in this era.

Since the field won't be spread out anymore, the offense will have to rely, as does Holtz, on play fakes, misdirection, and unpredictable playcalling to create mismatches in the secondary and decent holes for the RB's.  It can still work, but there won't be anymore fifty-point games, except maybe against EMU.

The days of gaudy, Heisman-worthy stats on offense are over; grinding the ball down the field is probably back to stay.  Anything better than that would be a major bonus.  To me, the main question is whether or not Hoke/Borges will go away from the "Run, run, pass" sequence that Michigan has traditionally queued up on first through third downs.

Saying, "this is what we are going to do, come and stop us" won't work in this era.  I think it is possible for a team to win it all with a more hybrid approach, but I don't think it 's possible without some variation in playcalling.  From 1969-2007, Michigan's idea of "deceptive playcalling" or "fooling the defense" was to run the draw on third and long.  We all know how that usually worked out.

Hopefully, we see an offense that has opponents off balance the entire game, and can't be predicted by charting.  If that happens, the formations don't really matter.

Anti-spread

Watching that SDSU-Navy game, "squishing" is an apt description - almost looks like an intentional middle finger to spread teams.   teatteamsteioadfjkljdgklj;lkjsdfte

Also,

"Since the field won't be spread out anymore, the offense will have to rely, as does Holtz, on play fakes, misdirection, and unpredictable playcalling to create mismatches in the secondary and decent holes for the RB's."

And a shitload of different formations - they line up everywhere.  Also a sharp contrast to our O over the past several years (TE's in the backfield notwithstanding)

Are you talking about the

Are you talking about the "Old school" 1980s offenses with Jim Harbaugh, Mike Taylor and Demetrious Brown at QB, with Jamie Morris and Leroy Hoard at RB, with Calloway and Kolesar at WR?

Truly boring, plodding offenses, those were. Especially that 1986 one. How did that team finish the season, unacceptably?

Sometimes in Michigan it seems it's Winter.. Winter.. more Winter, and then, suddenly, it's Memorial Day and it decides to be 78 and sunny. Woo! Summer!. However, I cannot dissent, for the vernal equinox does indeed follow the winter solstice.

Two questions:

1.  If you agree that the team is likely to win more games the next two seasons than it has the last two, then what exactly is your complaint?

2.  Are you aware that the guy in your avatar was not a Rodriguez fan, and is happy that Hoke has replaced him?

Try harder.

Denard did not hold a single offer to play QB outside of the one Rich offered.

Despite nearly everyone clamoring for Denard to be a WR for Tate, Rodriguez stuck by his guns and in only his first year starting, Robinson had on overall outstanding year at the position.

DR ran more than "tosses and screens". WTH were you watching last year?

(1) Will Hagerup - he was good last year when he wasn't suspended, he'll be very good this year.

(2) Jibreel Black - With better run support in the 4-3 scheme, Black should get more opportunities to pass rush opposite Craig Roh. I have the feeling he'll get 1 on 1 situations that he'll exploit throughout the year.

(3) Marvin Robinson - the return of Woolfolk and Floyd on the corners will allow Robinson to play free safety and utilize his speed and power.

great thread

I love this thread, bono.  Shame it is being hijacked by those who feel the need to defend RR even when he is not under attack.

As to predictions:

Avery - agree with you about him improving, but probably not to lock-down status

Big Will - if he goes back to the D side, he will be a beast; he is perfect for manball

Carvin - I just like the way he plays and I saw a ton of potential

Demens - this one is sort of a gimme, so it shouldn't count in the tally - he already showed that he will be good, and he should have started all year.

As to my 10,000+ points being indicative of my prediction ability - probably not.  Just more of an indication that I need to do more actual work when at work.

Fun thread.

Was the one that popped into my head.  A winter and summer of bulking up and getting quicker and stronger.  He got a pretty big taste of what it's like out there on the field in the meat of the Big Ten schedule.  Avery and Vinopal could be other candidates on D.

I've been bashed for such extreme optimism about the dline, but I'll remain consistent.

Black and Roh are going to fuck shit up(mostly because I think Martin will be being held by 3 guys allowing them to walk in), but  their sack numbers will be high earning them big pub in the local rags.

Second choice would be Hopkins who seems very well suited for the new offensive style.

Anti-Denarded: AMSHG (we can hope, right?)

Denarded on O: Koger/Fitz/Miller

Koger if for nothing else being utilized more. Fitz = please stay healthy. I think Miller could make some great strides this year as a backup for the outside receivers and maybe even get in some H-back stuff.

Denarded on D: Mrob/Furman/CC

MRob is a beast waiting to explode. Furman = also beast, hopefully he can see the field. CC I refuse to "give up" on, he was thrust in there way too early, i was most excited about him in last year's class and i think he can trun into a great FS/corner with time/good coaching

Offense:

I expect Stonum to really flourish in this offense and he should be a worthy downfield threat.

I am hoping to see Cox and Fitz to step up in the backfield but those are hopes not expectations.

Defense:

I think Carvin and Marvin both step up this year.

I hope to see Furman improve as well because he has some serious upside if he can develope.

Big break out year for Roh.  He takes on the Ryan Kerrigan role and speed rushes his way to double digit sack numbers and leads team in TFL.

Quinton Washington makes a big impact when OLs give Martin too much attention.

If Borges is true to his word and Denard runs for more like 1000 yds making up the difference in rushing yards with additional passing yards, then my prediction is Darryl Stonum.  He has shown himself to be a solid reciever on the outside and I think with more looks he could see a nice jump in caught passes, yards and touchdowns.

Does Stonum count? His career

Does Stonum count? His career to date might not be low profile enough but he could have a Biletnikoff year in 2011.

Matt Wile. Let's say he goes 13 of 17. Miraculous!

I don't know what position Marvin Robinson is going to play but everyone seems convinced he's the guy to make a leap on defense. Sounds good.

Floyd Simmons will reprise his role as indomitable special teams cacodemon but he will be joined for a season long duet by Josh Furman. I will call them Floyd Furman. They will PIN YOU DEEP and tackle you and force many fumbles.

Stonum is a great choice and

Stonum is a great choice and it includes a big play or two on special teams from him.  Denard himself might be a great choice. Some of our opponents openly criticized his ability to pass his way down the field as a drop back quarterback last season. Michigan State was pretty vocal after the game that they knew he couldn't.  Couple that with the comments from "experts" that he'll never play in the NFL at quarterback, and you are going to get an insane offseason of effort from him.   The new offensive approach will give him the opportunity to master and showcase skills people think he lacks.

He is too smart not to see the awesome opportunity he has to raise it even higher.

My pick is Stones number 1

Not necessarily "Denarded' but as for the player that will flourish most in a pro style attack

1) Id go with Stonum. I guess four years ago I would have said the same thing because i believed Mallett to Stonum was going to be dangerous. Hes got better than average hands but is by far our best offensive player with the ball in open space IMO.

2) Kenny Demens should develope very well as our MLB, watching him excel in the Iowa game was enough to make me believe. (Iowa Stud Mention: Lewan). In a 4-3, having the down tackles in front of him should take the second level blocks off of him a little more and should open up tons of oppurtunities for him. possible all big ten this year.

"Denarded"

1) My biggest hope is for Furman, based on his 40's (FAKE or not) and his shear size and athleticism, i have big hopes for him especially under Mattison. Id love to see him as an OLB as opposed to safety but he was probably my favorite recruit in his class.

2) Carvin, first frosh to crack the starting line up last year, seems like a very solid tackler and must know the game well enough to start. Got valuable B10 experience much like Denard his freshman year, id like to see him as SS, i know he doesnt have the wheels neccesarily but either did Shazor/

Wilcard

Mike Cox. Havent quite drank in the Hopkins cool-aid yet and although hes been good in spring games and a few regular season games, im not ready to proclaim him the starter based on his Fred Jackson-Chris Perry comparisons. I like Cox, hes a hard runner and i believe that given the shot to start, hed prove to be worthy. Hes not a pounding back like Hopkins or a John Clay but if he stops dancing so much and hits holes, hell be a good one. just my 2 cents

I'm a Furman fan as well

It's so difficult to assign a FAKE to his 40 times because he's been consistent at several laser-timed combines. It's a little scary. It would be rather nice to have a 200+ pound safety who can run down just about any other player on the field.

Stonum-Denard

One thing that's not crazy to think is that the Stonum-Denard connection will itself get Denarded. They were tantalizingly close to several breakaway passes this year but didn't seem to have the timing  that D.Rob had with Roundtree or even with Hemingway (on jump balls and broken plays). We know Denard puts in offseason time, and at least from the outside it seems like Stonum is a hard worker (RR let him speak to the media frequently which is probably a good sign, and he's improved a lot over his career). So I wouldn't be surprised if those guys jell a little over the offseason.

I watched..

A TON of the defensive tape from last year.

We have some serious potential on D.

I am not as excited about Black as some, he does have a good first step, but I think he is a year or so away from picking up the hand technique and subtle body motion that allows elite DEs to blow by starting OT in the B10.

Carvin Johnson will be an absolute MONSTER this year. Im not sure exactly where he fits into the scheme, but that kid can flat out tackle.

M-Rob has potential, but it seemed to me that he had very litte impact on the field.

The player I am most excited to see blow up this year is MM. Hopefully he goes tot eh 3tech, and gets the single team. That bodes well.

Offensively, I want to see Roundtree turn into a marvin harrison.
And if Rawls is as good as I think he could be, he might be the starter... although Hopkins might have something to say about that,,,/
Really hope we run a pro set with 2 backs, because hopkins with shaw/rawls/hayes could be nasty.

Hmm

Marvin Robinson only played on special teams last year, so I don't know what you mean by "little impact on the field." He chased down some plays rather impressively.

I would say Martin has already blown up, but I see your point. Getting the single team would lead to constant beast mode.

Roundtree doesn't have the physical tools that Marvin Harrison had, but he'll probably be more consistent.

I think it's rather delusional to think that either Rawls or Hopkins will be a firm starter at tailback.

The real question is which

The real question is which player gets Roundtreed and realizes they can't actually see the football. Last year it was Stonum, who's gonna get glasses this off-season.

Big butt /no homo, and Hoke apparently shares my bigg butt /no homo philosophy.  That coupled w/ him getting PT at ND before the leg injury.   I'm going to say Wilkins as well, just based on his increase in size, and another offseason to continue to add good weight.

Odoms - on return teams.  Did anyone else think he looked better than anyone has in years during that bowl game?  Confident and quick, one of the few highlights all day.

im not as high on black as some others. i think the line would be too weak against the run with Roh and Black at the end spots.  id much rather have van bergen at DE, but that of course requires one of two things: either one of the blobs in the middle turns into a viable one-tech, or talbott grows enough to play the three-tech. if Van Bergen ends up at the three-tech, Im not so sure black is ur starter at DE next yr.

Now for what this thread is really about:

Defense:

Courtney Avery - I think hes got the cover skills, he just needs to eat something and lift something.

Offense:

Koger - hes got the tools, just needs to catch the damn ball. Both TEs should be getting more looks in the new offense.

I'm not sure

why you're not that high on Black. True freshman don't often get time on the defensive line; not even spot duty. Black will probably bulk up and benefit from college-level coaching. He'll at least see spot duty during passing downs, and I'm willing to bet he'll start if RVB is the three-tech.

My hope

One of the three big nose tackles (I'd put my money on Washington right now), one of the running backs (cash on Shaw or a healthy Fitz), and Marvin Robinson at FS.  If those three happen we can be a very good team next year.

On the upswing.

With Mattison coaching them up, I predict a leap for:

1) Kenny Demens - We've all seen flashes of good play, but I think Mattison brings out the beast in him.

2) Carvin Johnson - Tough kid with football smarts. He should be a heavy hitter if he stays healthy.

3) Craig Roh - Finally the breakout monster year we've been waiting on.

Go Blue!!

can you imagine if denard got denardeded?

Is it current mgopoints, bc I plan on having at least 15 grand by the end of next year.

There are so many guys to choose from and with so much upside.

On offense, I have to go with a running back bc one of them is about to see what its like to be a featured back. So I am going to go with Hopkins.

On defense, I am just waiting for Roh to absolutely start shredding through offensive lines.

Jake Ryan

The one person that I really hope blows up this year is Jake Ryan. If we can solidify our linebacking core with him/demens/and maybe furman/gordon/bell, I think we'll be in for a treat. From everything I've read and heard about Ryan, it seems like his upside is huge and hopefully an off-season of bulking up will help.

Me

i am putting in the effort in the offseason, familiarizing myself with various chart making software and learning to write code to make my posts even more insightful.  and i have been taking improv classes so that my comedic posts will be even more spontaneous and off the wall.  i am shooting for a 8000 mgopoint fall

personal - i would like to see shaw be healthy for a full year, i think he has put in a lot of time and deserves to finally be in the offensive system he originally committed to.

actual - in terms of improvement, i think vinopal takes a big step in the offseason, gets bulkier and becomes a solid special teamer.  he got a ton of time last year, showed a few good things, more bad things, but i think he can be one of those guys that shines as a gunner on punt teams.  in two years he will be a cagey, sure tackling, veteran.

I'm going with Will Campbell.  Back on D where he belongs, being coached by defensive minds that will know what to do with him.  We've seen the occasional 4- and 5-star recruits turn out to be busts, but I refuse to believe Campbell is one of those. Mattison and Co will unleash this man's inner beast and he will hurt fools.

Junior Hemingway

I see Junior really flourishing in the new offense.  He's big, has good hands, and able to stretch the field.  In fact, I think all of the receivers are going to see increased production next year.  Remember that SDSU had two of the top 15 receivers in the nation last year.  Koger is also going to be a huge beneficiary.  My list goes like this:

Offense:

1) Junior Hemingway

2) Kevin Koger

3)Darryl Stonum

Defense:

1) JT Floyd (at FS)

2) Quinton Washington

3) Craig Roh

Who Gets Denarded This Offseason

This seems like fun.

1. Will Campbell - More a prayer than anything else cause his emergence as a beast is key.

2. Darryl Stonum - Obvious because of move to pro-style offense

3. Kevin Koger - See: Stonum, Darryl.

4. Carvin Johnson - Showed a lot of promise at the beginning of the year before the injury.

Koger.  He has the potential to be a great weapon in the passing game with his size and speed.  TE was not a big factor in the RR/Magee offense (in fact, they didn't even use one at WVU), other than as a downfield blocker.  He has 36 career receptions in three years.  I wouldn't be surprised if he approached that number in 2011.

I'll take Avery as well...

Despite the poor play overall from the D, I thought he played well as a Frosh. (position, hips, angles, ect...) I thought he made the most out of the available playing time amongst the other youngsters.

My second pick: Kenny Demens

I can't wait for Demens (barring surgery) to receive some lessons from Mattison & Co.  I think Kenny is gonna be a baller!

P.S. It would not surprise me a bit if Mr. Furman is competing for time on the field.

Will one will surely be a RB, since as now Fred Jackson says, the RB is now again, being part of the offense.  Another will be a WR who will pull away from the pack, based on the offense.  And on defense, perhaps the MLB if he is an underclassman. Maybe Ryan?

I hope that Denard gets

I hope that Denard gets Denarded. Does that make any sense at all? Since we have a new offense, I just hope that DRob learns to read defenses and get his footwork right so he will be awesome this Fall. That's why I say Denard. If he can run a pro offense almost as good as he ran the spread, and I said almost. We should be better next year!! Fingers crossed.

It'll be at running back for sure

In this offense the running back is going to get a lot of yardage and catch a lot of passes.

I'm thinking Mike Shaw or Touissaint.

Then my own brain rebels, kicks my ass and calls me stupid for not remembering about Michigan's 5 year streak of having zero healthy running backs on the field.   Angry RB hating God.  Worship that? Never.

Cam Gordon

Like Denard a year prior, his inexperience overwhelmed his awesome athletic ability.  a year later, the inexperience is gone, and the awesome athletic ability starts to shine.  Halfway through the year we'll be reminiscing about "when we thought Cam was bad" like in the '10 Notre Dame game.

Like Bo said, (or was it Al McGuire?):  "the best thing about freshman . . . "

"The Leap"

For his own sake, I home Sam finally makes  the leap home. I've been bothered by this uncertainty since 1993.

Offensive production

I think as a team M will score more.  How many 400-500 yard games did they have and the score did not reflect it?  I think not only will Denard produce but the backs and wideouts will produce not just yards but on the scoreboard as well.

Top 3, lets get denarded

I have to start off by saying denard is gonna be the QB next year rushing yards will be down but his passing numbers are going to be crazy... Just my opinion

1) Hopkins- looks like the only pro style RB we got  other then Fitz but he cant stay healthy

2) Avery- looked good last year at times.. I agree, he should grow into a solid cover guy

3) Campbell- is gonna be a monster on the Dline.. Hoke is gonna work some magic(i hope)

Who's going to have a breakout year?

There's a lot of candidates, but I think it's gonna be Kenny Demens.

Saw a lot of promise from him last year, but he sometimes played confused (could be the horrible defensive coaching, youth or both).  I think this year, with experience, an easier/better scheme and better position coaching, he'll take it to the next level. For the first time in years, we'll have a dominant ILB.

If he can stay healthy, Shaw would be another candidate.  But I doubt he can stay healthy.

Wishful Thinking

1. Marvin Robinson

2. Isiah Bell

3. Campbell/Washington

I am also really hoping M. Cox can show the size, speed and smarts needed to become the #1 RB

My vote

Kenny Demens and JB Fitzgerald. They'll anchor a very solid linebacking core next year
