Who Gets Denarded This Offseason

Submitted by bonobojones on

This time last year, how many of you were thinking "I can't wait until next year when Denard Robinson will become one of the most dynamic and statistically dominant offensive players in Michigan history."  Or were you thinking, "Next Year Denard could be a great slot or maybe even a 3rd down/wildcat threat."  The point is, I think we are way to quick at dismissing young players on this board.  This year, since so many starters struggled, the assumption seems to be that every young kid riding the bench must be even worse.  Or even worse, true freshmen who were forced to play and got blown up were written off (ie. Cullen Christian).  Sure, but that is the nature of being a young player, there is the distinct possibly of massive improvement.  So on a more positive note, I just want to start a prediction thread on which young players (2011 underclassmen) will have big break-out seasons next year.

My Picks:

1.  Courtney Avery-  Will become a lock down man coverage corner in the new scheme

2.  Issiah Bell -  Needed extra time after transforming body into linebacker.

3.  Fitz - The big health if.  But if man...if.

As a little side experiment, I will tally all the votes and post results next week.  One thing I want to look for is if there is a correlation between mgopoints and the accuracy of prediction. That will have to wait until next year, but I  always wanted to know if spending this much time on this site makes someone more knowledgeable in a meaningful way.  So don't let me down 10,000+ pointers.

I think as a team M will score more.  How many 400-500 yard games did they have and the score did not reflect it?  I think not only will Denard produce but the backs and wideouts will produce not just yards but on the scoreboard as well.

I have to start off by saying denard is gonna be the QB next year rushing yards will be down but his passing numbers are going to be crazy... Just my opinion

1) Hopkins- looks like the only pro style RB we got  other then Fitz but he cant stay healthy

2) Avery- looked good last year at times.. I agree, he should grow into a solid cover guy

3) Campbell- is gonna be a monster on the Dline.. Hoke is gonna work some magic(i hope)

There's a lot of candidates, but I think it's gonna be Kenny Demens.

Saw a lot of promise from him last year, but he sometimes played confused (could be the horrible defensive coaching, youth or both).  I think this year, with experience, an easier/better scheme and better position coaching, he'll take it to the next level. For the first time in years, we'll have a dominant ILB.

If he can stay healthy, Shaw would be another candidate.  But I doubt he can stay healthy.

My hopes are to see:

Kenny Demens on the D (or as I call him in NCAA 11, "KENNEH-DEMENS" like Cartman saying Kenny in South Park"

and I think Hopkins will have a decent year on the offense. I was REALLY hopeful about Fitz-Toussaint (Damn you Fred Jackson!) but my hopes seem to have come to an end.

On Denard: I am the only person I know that thinks Denard will start at quarterback. Everyone else is CONVINCED that he is going to be like Percy Harvin...... oh dear....

He's my quarterback
