I remember when Detroit (area) was the the absolute best sports town in the world.  Now it's in the down cycle, and it's a different sports landscape.  NBA feels like wellw never be revelant again.  NHL young and hopefully upcoming, esp with Yzerman involved.  Lions...haaaa!  Tigers? Gonna be a while.

So we really need our U of M football and basketball teams to carry us through, but both are in a wait and see, with basketball looking really good potentially.  Football...please!! Please become elite again!

Sadly, when you look at ownership, there’s every reason to think this cycle is going to last a while.

Bill Davidson and Mike Illitch were committed owners who loved winning and were willing hire good people to run the teams and spend the money needed to get the necessary players.

Tom Gores and Ilitch’s children don’t have any of those qualities and they just see the teams as fancy toys and investments.

Yeah but at least they got the beautiful District Detroit that was promised as a part of the construction of the LCA.........Oh, wait.

This can't be true if we're talking aggregate because some markets have twice as many teams.  The NY market probably beats this annually because they have two baseball teams, two hockey (plus the knicks!) which is gonna rack up the losses even if the teams are mediocre.

Chicago probably had a lot of years beating this when the hawks, cubs and sox were bad.

Wonder if this is limited to teams with four or fewer teams?

Glass half full view... It's 45 and not snowing and parking is really easy, cheap when going downtown. Premium seats are a great value (you can drink and eat all you want in the Pistons LCA Club sections for $120ish). Beilein " what was I thinking?" revenge tour comes back on the 27th almost as much drama as with Duchess "Megsit".

Lies all Lies

I can post many years that teams in one city combined for 300+ losses even 400+ losses

New York Mets.Yanks,Rangers,Islanders,Knicks have combined for over 400 losses in one calendar year ...at least 5 times and i just started looking

Think about LA having 5-6 teams sometimes
