Week 13 B1G projected scores

Submitted by BuckeyeChuck on November 21st, 2022 at 9:28 AM

I’m getting this out of the way early this week so I can move on to … uhh… more pressing matters.

Nebraska @ Iowa

  • Vegas predicted score: Iowa 24-14
  • SP+ predicted score: Iowa 29-9
  • Can you believe that Iowa is once again the frontrunner to become the champions of the West?

Rutgers @ Maryland

  • Vegas predicted score: Maryland 32-18
  • SP+ predicted score: Maryland 36-16
  • Poor damn Terp Kaplooey. They can not blow this to go winless in November. If there was ever a must win for a 6-win team against Rutgers, this could be it. And of course they’re not threatened by the noon kickoff time slot because they’d rather no one watch this one anyway.

Illinois @ Northwestern

  • Vegas predicted score: Illinois 25-12
  • SP+ predicted score: Illinois 30-5
  • The B1G has to have set some kind of record this year for the excessive amount of low over/unders. Brutal.

Minnesota @ Wisconsin

  • Vegas predicted score: Wisconsin 19-16
  • SP+ predicted score: Wisconsin 22-17
  • Like I just said.

Purdue @ Indiana

  • Vegas predicted score: Purdue 33-23
  • SP+ predicted score: Purdue 36-27
  • I do genuinely respect this game as a quality in-state rivalry; it’s just that none of the other 49 states care.

Michigan St @ Penn St

  • Vegas predicted score: Penn St 36-18
  • SP+ predicted score: Penn St 41-17
  • Sparty NO bowl game for you!

Michigan @ Satan

  • Vegas predicted score: Satan 33-25
  • SP+ predicted score: Satan 28-22
  • More to come…

…122.5 hours until kickoff.

i saw on rcmb that the guys suspended were being referred to as the "Tunnel8", as if some tragic injustice has been done to them. would be fitting that they only have 1 game left and its a blowout.

Question: I get how Vegas sets the over/under and given the line, you can figure out what their predicted score is (or just look at the single team over/under), but how do you get the team scores from SP+?  I know how they calculate the spread, but I don't get how they get the totals.

A lot of focus on different things this week - but, beside Thanksgiving - it's the weekend and, potentially, great games in store for us...

Iowa at Nebraska - the Hawkeyes are poised and positioned to win the wild, wild, West.  And, will do so in a very bland way.

The Terps return to their winning ways against the Scarlet Knights.

Illinois at Northwestern.  Those Fighting Illini win the "state of Illinois" challenge, and claim the mantel of the best B1G team in Illinois.

Minny at Wisconsin - not much attention here - it should be home field advantage for the Badgers.

Purdue at Indiana.  The Old Oaken Bucket travels with the Boilers after the game - back to warm, wonderful, West Lafayette.

Michigan State at Penn State.   I don't cheer for the Nittany Lions - but, this will be an exception.  Hoping PSU moves into the Top 10 in next week's polls.

As for the other game on the B1G schedule.  42-27.

Observations:

PJ Fleck = Mediocre

Do not touch Mel Tucker's head

Ferentz's favorite bedtime story is clearly The Tortoise and the Hare

Penn State has had a pretty good year, which is great, because Franklin will keep his job.  Shocking that Clifford has stayed healthy.

God, I feel for Nebraska fans

I see that Satan is favored over the Good Guys.  But what would be the hypothetical line of a Satan vs. Ditka game?

Im a bit surprised to see Wisconsin favored over Minnesota. Granted, I haven't watched either team in weeks but Wisconsin's offense seems dreadful and Minnesota has a pretty decent defense. I would guess something close to 20-13 Minnesota

NE @ IA will be interesting but it looks like the Hawkeyes will grab the B1G West with the win.

Rutgers at MD should be close but who cares? The Terps have lost a lot of steam and Rutgers could very well get the critical 6th win of the season.

The Illini steamrolls the Wildcats.

MN @ WI is a toss up. As long as Ibrahim is healthy, MN has a slight edge.

Purdue @ IN: Another close one. A more confident Hoosier team could eliminate Purdue completely from any chance of a B1G shot.

MSU @ PSU is where sparty goes down. Would love to see MSU end up 5-7.

It's looking like Michigan will have many of the starters back with both Edwards and Corum sharing the backfield. Schoony is also a go. Not sure about AJ Henning nor Keegan on the OL. The big question is can JJ and his receivers step it up a few notches? We'll need a much better passing game along with at least a 200 yd rushing effort. If we can get all of that, there is better than 50/50 shot at winning.
