We need Desmond to speak up
I know it can’t be easy for him and he’s already seen as a somewhat homer but I really wish he could push the narrative to what Michigan has done is in the end no different than the others. And that colluding is far worse. Connor may be good but I’m fairly certain having 2 or 3 different teams and perspectives makes a better result.
Anyone have Desmond‘s email. /s or maybe not.

He literally just did.

The post worked!

my heretofore-flagging faith in the internet has been restored
November 7th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
Sounds like the comment that the big ten commissioner should have made, and would have made if he had shown any fortitude.

Please learn to post a link properly. It’s so easy

So is copy/paste.

Meanwhile, David Schuster, continues his William Wallace impersonation and takes no prisoners in pursuit of thumping EVERYONE (particularly Thamel- again LOL) on twitter. Quite comical, worth the browse. Also, he gave a shout out to MGoBlog. This Michigan Man deserves our support. Follow him on Twitter:
Thanks to all of the new twitter followers, particularly those who are here via the one and only http://mgoblog.com. I usually cover politics + legal issues for http://tyt.com. But occasionally, I'll do something like this. Enjoy! https://youtube.com/watch?v=pUVJoXdKodk…

This good enough?

“I can’t imagine (commissioner) Greg Sankey — or Mike Slive before him — allowing themselves to be publicly bullied into circumventing the NCAA investigative process by coaches and ADs who insist on immediate punishment before a full investigation is conducted,” said Howard, who has been an analyst for ESPN’s “College GameDay” since 2005. “Especially if a potential national championship is on the line for the conference.
You tell em Desmond!
November 7th, 2023 at 8:17 PM ^
Ya, can you believe the conference would cannibalize itself like that? I have to wonder, if Michigan decided to leave the conference, what would happen if they went independent. Do they have what it takes to be super successful?
To keep all of the television and bowl/playoff money could payoff in a big way. There are about a dozen athletic depts. that got rich from being associated with UM, and now it’s a witch hunt to get Harbaugh. We need Harbaugh to lead us into a new era. Can we get whatever ND is getting plus $1?
November 7th, 2023 at 7:17 PM ^
Seriously, we NEED Desmond Howard to speak up??
I don't think that word means what you tbink it means...
November 7th, 2023 at 7:18 PM ^
Desmond isn't going to convince anyone of anything. He has no credibility outside of the Michigan fanbase
November 7th, 2023 at 8:09 PM ^
I suspect that he has more credibility that Joey Galloway.
November 8th, 2023 at 8:21 AM ^
Says who? He's one of the talking heads so has an audience and has to have credit otherwise they'd replace him.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:18 PM ^
Nothing he could say would make a difference. ESPN is so deep into pushing their own garbage narrative and getting their mindless shills like Rece Davis and Pete Thamel to propagate that narrative that nothing Desmond says would change anything. And the people watching ESPN for this coverage are not open to having their minds changed, they just want an echo chamber to validate their belief that Michigan is the lone renegade cheating program in the otherwise clean and scandal-free sport that is college football.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:46 PM ^
Game day was so much better when it was Fowler hosting.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
I dunno. What he said about Pettiti getting bullied was fantastic. Guy has not handled this well, let alone looked strong doing it. His tenure may be short. I think the tide is turning in this rivalry. I'm confident that t-shirt sales are going to be up again.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:58 PM ^
ESPN has Stephen A. debating Pat McAfee about our punishment. That network is trash.
November 7th, 2023 at 9:24 PM ^
I don’t understand why basketball people talk about football on air. Like man I’m sure most dedicated football fans watch more and know more about football than you do. Shut up.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:21 PM ^
I'm ok with him being the way he is. His contributions aren't similar to the shock news from Paul, Pat, or Stephen...
November 7th, 2023 at 7:22 PM ^
Desmond needs to keep cool and let everybody have their say until something illegal comes out. His time to talk will come. Is today's news an indication of poor sportsmanship and collusion? Yes. But it's not technically illegal. What Rutgers, OSU and Purdue did is what I'm sure that SEC teams have done to Saban teams for years.
What Connor did, while not too different, is still unheard of (for now) and bad enough that even the most outspoken Michigan backers think he should get show cause penalties.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
How are they getting Michigan signs then? I doubt it's from memory.
Also, it's advanced scouting isn't it? For Purdue to get Michigan signs from OSU.
I'm just asking I have no clue but it all seems the same. Actually what OSU did seems worse because they would've benefit specifically if we lost to Purdue/TCU.
This shit is crazy...
November 7th, 2023 at 7:45 PM ^
There’s rumors that Schiano/Rutgers & Day/Ohio State actually asked the B1G if they would be allowed to share signs with Purdue before the Big Ten Championship - similar to how they asked the CFP in 2021 if they could scout the other semi-final game - and were supposedly given an “it’s probably okay” from the conference at that time.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:57 PM ^
Yeah, we’re gonna need a source on this…
November 7th, 2023 at 8:02 PM ^
I really find that hard to believe.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:57 PM ^
Unheard of? What about Bret Zdebski and Sam McGrath?
Now why would this Sam McGrath fella, a "defensive quality control" staffer for ohio state, be sending Brent Zdebski, an ohio state staffer who previously worked for Jim Knowles at OSU, a venmo transaction with a clover emoji shortly before their game against Notre Dame? Your guess is as good as mine, but sucknut fans wanted our entire football program cancelled over similar screenshots.
November 7th, 2023 at 8:10 PM ^
So basically the argument is that "it's different, therefore it's worse" ?
The rule that is in question reads as follows:
Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited, except as provided in Bylaws 11.6.1.1 and 11.6.1.2
As far as we know -
Connor Stalions paid someone for raw footage of the sideline of future opponents, which he then took and deciphered on his own. Big Ten School X received scouting material of a future opponent from people who watched Michigan in advance and in-person of Big Ten School X's game with Michigan.
Which scenario do you feel is more likely to have technically broken the rule?
November 7th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
If was Desmond Howard I'd resign from that trash as place they call ESPN.
That place is shit.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:37 PM ^
No you would not. He’s under contract and paid very well. Maybe leave for Fox if offered down the road. Business over emotion
November 8th, 2023 at 7:22 AM ^
No you wouldn't. Life is like a sh#t sandwich; the more bread you got, the less sh#t you gotta eat. Desmond is reportedly paid $3 million to do College GameDay... which is more than enough bread to put up with ESPN's sh#t.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:23 PM ^
No we don't. We don't need anything except light, water, oxygen, beef and the Big Ten Network.
November 7th, 2023 at 8:06 PM ^
Add whiskey and pudding to the list of things we NEED. Sorry for the oversight.
November 7th, 2023 at 9:10 PM ^
Don't forget the ashtray, the paddle game, the remote control, matches and a lamp. That's all that's needed not one more thing. And this, a chair.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:26 PM ^
He had no ammo the last two weeks. He finally has some factual support.
November 7th, 2023 at 8:19 PM ^
Unfortunately, rational thinking doesn't qualify as ammo. Stalions broke a cost saving rule that has no penalty associated with it. The NCAA stated that the breaking of the rule provided little or no advantage. Max punishment should be probation.
Instead, we get death penalty, wins discounted, suspensions, and crime of the century with endangerment to opposing players when no one can point a single play where it appeared that Michigan knew what was coming more than any other student of the game.
CJ Stroud threw for an incredible number of yards in both loses to Michigan, but scheme kept him out of the end zone (that and Aiden Hutchinson.) And everyone knows that OSU can no longer run the ball (why is a mystery to me.)
November 7th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
Honestly I wish halfway through the show Desmond would just take off his mic and say fuck you I quit and walk off the show. I know he would never do that but it would be amazing if he did
November 7th, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
Chuck would.
November 7th, 2023 at 8:00 PM ^
Speaking of chuck. I'm about to buy a bottle of his bourbon and drink it after celebrating a huge victory over 3rd base and his complete demise
November 7th, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Desmond should bitchslap Thamel on live television and then quit.
Totally worth it.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
Heisman slap?
November 7th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
He already has a number of times. What else can you say besides,"now you all have ZERO excuses?"
November 7th, 2023 at 7:45 PM ^
I don’t want to make a new post for this, but what is going on?
November 7th, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
Honestly who is scraping over llc’s in Wyoming to have unearthed this? I thought the post previous was weird and now this is getting weirder. Hopeful Stalions, whose family is well to do by all accounts, didn’t have a hand in NIL.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:58 PM ^
I actually took a second to look at the filing and the only signatory is Stalions. Corum’s name is just listed. I would not be at all surprised Stalions just put his name there.
November 7th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
Someone doing a deep dive searching any records online with Conor Stalions' name.
November 7th, 2023 at 9:23 PM ^
This all got started by a couple of minions on eleven warriors.com.
November 7th, 2023 at 7:52 PM ^
I have no idea who Zach Gelb is, but this guy needs to get an honorary degree in May. Great takedown of Day.
