Would've been great if he…

Would've been great if he stayed, but the aura of the last three years will live forever. Had the possibility of fading a little if he left and lost some games to OSU.

If we win, you just got to…

If we win, you just got to hope Texas loses as far as ticket prices go. If Texas wins tix are going to go real high with the game in Houston. If UW wins I would think they'd come down from what they are now.

This good enough?

I have heard

I have heard it is more a movie for adults.  What do you think the age appropriateness of it is? I was going to take my 8 year old son.  He handles most PG-13 movies fine.  Is there excessive violence or death?

Good question

Honestly, I'm not sure.  In my experience, it was always my practice to buy extra tickets for people up front because you wanted to make sure you had them.  A Michigan ticket was something of value that people wanted, not something that was a commodity that the whole risk in price change was placed on me.  It is not good business when the policy is "If our team is good, we will charge you more.  If our team is bad, you paid too much for your tickets but that's  your problem."

I think it really hurt

ticket sales.  I am a season ticket holder, and I know I bought less extra tickets for family and friends because I wasn't sure I could get my money back if they ended up not deciding to go.  I would just go to StubHub and get them for under face value.

Bye week

Brandon gets canned the week of the next bye week.  That makes it a story that can run its course when there isn't a game.

Big Ten

Big Ten does not have night games in November so Ohio and NU are out.  That leaves ND and Minnesota.

Dream Team

Dream Team would beat this years team handily.  I think there's a good argument the 2000 team would beat this years.  Stockton, Reggie Miller, Pippen, Maline, and Robinson with Payton, Barkley, Grant Hill, and Penny Hardaway coming off the bench.

I heard Warner's comments

I heard Warner's comments yesterday.  I took them to mean that he wasn't sure if he wanted his sons to play professional football.  I didn't take them to mean that he didn't want his kids growing up playing football, just that the speed of the game and getting hit in the NFL is a different level that he might be uncomfortable with for his kids.  I could be wrong, but that's how I heard it.

Your comment

Your comment also seems to assume that the coaches know in advance that he is only going to be on special teams and play in two games.  Maybe the guy goes out and forces two fumbles in the first game and earns some more playing time.  It's easy to look back and say, "Oh, they should have redshirted him" when you know the outcome of the season.

We were highest 4 seed.

I got 4

I got 4 this morning.  Based on PP I would assume the largest number of season ticket holders got access today, and I wouldn't be surprised if they sold out pretty soon.

There was a tweet

yesterday that Kozan would sign at Noon mountain time.  May be a long wait.

What is his given name?

You might be able to come up with something off that.  (I am assuming that Trey is already a nickname).

Bama

Bama is a days driving distance from Dallas.  I would say that Bama could sell out this game with just their fans.  I think there is going to be a hell of demand for this game.

They are correct

That is just IRS stuff.

The more I watch it

The more I watch it, the more I think it's a catch.  I don't see how you can say it's indisputable either way.

Craziest one is

TCU loses to UNLV, KState loses to ISU, LSU loses to Georgia...we play in Fiesta Bowl.  At least according to the widget.

Priority

Priority points are how the Ath. Dept. determines who gets what when stuff is limited. You don't "use" them per se.  You just have them.  If you give $100 bucks then your points are active and will put you ahead of all people with less points and the general public.  For Bama game, if there is a Victors Club sale you will get priority over all those you are ahead of.

I completely agree.

I don't want a rematch but I don't see how anyone can credibly argue that Alabama and LSU aren't the two best teams.  The game went to OT and could have gone either way.  If LSU loses on Saturday I hope they still make it.  I think it would be even more BS if Bama went over them and they both had one loss.

Well done

Well done, sir.

I think Rivals

I think Rivals just defaults to noon.  The B1G hasn't put out its release yet that lists game times.  I think its likely to be a noon game but nothing official yet.

This should be removed

Speculation about how our favorite football team could potentially benefit from a cover up of multiple child sex assaults?  Not for this board.

I wouldn't

I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecution is happy with this.  There is an indication that Paterno would be a witness for the prosecution.  You don't want your witnesses making public statements if you can help it.

Seems to me

Seems to me this has nothing to do with the NCAA.  They enforce the rules having to do with amateur status and how programs are run.  If a coach gets DUI there is nothing that can be done.

I think this is a common misconception when people equate NCAA rules with the law.  One has nothing to do with the other.  For example, taking cash from some booster isn't illegal, just against NCAA rules.

Concourse

I took a 10-month old to the Western game and all I can say is your new bestfriend will be the concourse on the west side of the stadium.  When we walked in, an usher said if it got too hot for our little one to take her up there because there was a nice breeze.  She proceeded to fall asleep so I walked up there.  I watched the whole game up there and stayed out of the down pour when it happened.  The only rule is that you have to stay behind the yellow line where handicap seating is.  (There was no one in those seats for the WMU game).  You can stand there as long as you want.   It is a great place to watch the game.  The best spot is above the student section because the students haven't figured out they can go in and out up there.   I realize a 3-yr-old will be more mobile but it's still a good choice.  My advice...go to your seats and stay there as long as the kids will take it.  After that head up to the concourse and watch the rest of the game from there.  You'll basically watch the game from standing room only tickets that have sightlines as good as the club level.

Congrats

Good luck in the future and looking forward to seeing your stuff on ESPN.

I always

I always have enjoyed Lake Forest GC.  The front nine is kind of bland, but it's relatively cheap and always in good shape.  I've played Pierce Lake in Chelsea as well a few years ago, which I enjoyed.

Not me

Glad I'm not the only one.

Has anyone

Has anyone received their Alumni tickets?  I got my fourpack tickets, but nothing from AAUM.

Always at noon

Always at noon in AA, but who knows if the new lights will tempt a 330 start.

Belleville

My parents stayed in Belleville once when they couldn't find anything in AA.  Typical economy hotels but its only 20 min or so to AA.

Not a big deal IMO

I know quite a few athletic trainers that work for BCS schools.  A number of them get free cars from a dealership.  It is usually one that is a sponsor.  I agree this is only somewhat of a story because of everything else.

My tickets

My tickets are in row 9 in the southwest corner.  It is tough to see stuff at the other end but not impossible.  I think the action right in front of you when they come to your end more than makes up for it.

They just need to drop

the number of stripes.  If there were only two or three on the sleeves I think it would be pretty sweet.

From Tournament of Roses Website

Why are the Tournament celebrations sometimes held on January 2?

  • The Tournament of Roses is a tradition full of traditions, one of which is our "Never on Sunday" policy. In 1893, officials decided to move the parade to Monday, January 2 to avoid frightening horses tethered outside local churches and thus interfering with worship services. As a result of this reverent gesture, speculation abounds as to the rare instances of rainfall on New Year's Day (only ten times in Rose Parade history), prompting some to ask the Tournament about its special pact with a "friend upstairs." Also as a result of this tradition, other collegiate bowl organizations have instituted similar procedures.

Current policy is probably more due to NFL games.

I think

I think you are right.  I remember reading that USC can't go to Pac12 championship game this year, so I would assume same would be true for Buckeyes in B1G once they got hit.

Dispatch reporter

on ESPN says tOSU asked for his resignation.  Can't wait to read the article.

Dispatch reporter

says that resignation was asked for by the administration.

Wow.

If you are right the shitstorm will be unprecedented.

Low is RPI

Michigan is 10th in RPI. Committee must go by that

Same here

I got confirmation last week that I got tOSU and Eastern.  Had the ND and SDSU as my first choice but given the story of the line outside the alumni building, I had no chance at those.

Head-to-Head first tiebreaker

Foul Ball!

I think this is answer by the rules everyone has put forth.  When an umpire calls a ball fair because it goes over the base, that same rationale would apply if the first baseman was standing in FOUL territory and caught it and vice versa.
