Vegas odds if HE leaves

Heard this on radio on way home out here in Portland (believe it or not it's a college football town)

Thought about not posting cause I am a Harbaugh guy, but it is interesting

1. Bronco Mendenhall

2. David Shaw

3. Kyle Wittingham

I hope Harbaugh brings us back, got to beat Iowa.

But if he goes, I would want Chris Peterson #1, Kyle Wittingham would be my #2

If he goes, it will because he resigned at the end of the season

IMHO the most realistic scenario is he and Warde allow him to coach out his contract (so two more seasons?) and then he’s probably going back to the NFL.

MAYBE by then Urban’s heat on the whole Zach Smith thing will die down.  But I doubt it.  Boosters and alums I don’t think would allow for that to happen.

I agree that he won't get fired (and shouldn't).....but I'm starting to think he might leave after this year.  Do you think he enjoys this?  You're a good NFL coach at 10-6.  You're a crappy Michigan coach at 9-3.

We've seen no indication that he's going to beat OSU except in 2016....but that was with Hoke's players (thinking specifically about Wormley, Charlton, Glasgow and Hurst).  Michigan won't sneak up on OSU (like Iowa or Purdue).  How many losses to OSU are enough before he reconsiders his options?  I'm thinking that 5 might do it.

David Shaw seems like a long shot and a terrible choice.

Come to UM and get beat in recruiting by his replacement at Stanford.

Im not advocating for JH to be gone just yet, but no top tier coach would leave (Riley or Meyer) to come here.  Maybe Bronco.

What about Josh Heupel from UCF.  That would get us away from the Michigan Man thing and bring a modern approach

Michigan fans deserve to suffer if they want to fire Harbaugh and test the waters. It's gonna be big time shocked pikachu face when none of the big names guys like to throw against the wall want to come to Ann Arbor. Hope you guys love Brady Hoke pt II

Harbaugh has only set himself apart from RR and Hoke through games against middling or even bad teams. Against high quality opponents, his results are not significantly better.

Literally no program in the country plays worse as an underdog than Michigan. Harbaugh is as culpable in that embarrassment as his predecessors.

We've at least been within striking distance of winning something important with Harbaugh, like a major rivalry game, the Big 10, or a shot at the CFP.  Brady Hoke won some shit and then the program fell apart.  Rich Rod never had us anywhere close.

Honestly, the only person ready for this job on that list is Urban Meyer.  And he will never coach at Michigan...not just because the administration would never hire him.  More importantly, he hates our ass and would never jump ship.

If those are our three best options, then you might as well retain Harbaugh if he wants to stay. None of those guys will beat OSU.

Chris Petersen will never leave the Pacific Northwest. He could’ve had literally any job he wanted during his Boise State years, and probably still can. He was always candidate numero uno for every big job opening, Michigan, Auburn, Penn State, USC, Texas, you name it. And yet he chose to stay in the Northwest for a good, but not great Washington job. Only job he’d leave for at this point is if the Seahawks want him after Carroll retires.

This isn't something I want to talk about at all. I'm a glass-half-full kind of guy and even I am frustrated, but this fanbase has a subsection that is so knee jerky. I was at the game and yes it sucked. Just like everybody else I was yelling to air it out. For me it's hard to put all of this on coaching. We've seen all of the pictures and videos of how open some players are, but Patterson doesn't see them. So how can we blame the play calls if these players are wide open? I think a lot of this is on player execution. Not all of it because the defense did get gashed. It'll be a long time before I'm on the fire Harbaugh bandwagon, if ever. Everyone wanted a new offense and the man made the change. That takes a lot of stones to go against everything you believe. Unfortunately, the transitions not going as smoothly as we all hoped.

Amen.  Just gonna be a rough year.  Those happen sometimes...even when Urban Meyer had those at UF, for those of you who care.  We've had better years than this--last year was one--and we'll have better ones in the future.  That's pretty good.  I can't say I'm that confident we'll be in the same place if we pick one of the names on this list.

Probably not.  8 wins at ISU is an easier job than 11 wins at U of M.  And do you really think Campbell can deliver the top 5 recruiting classes we all seem to expect year in and year out, all you star gazers?  Or the great coaching staffs with excellent coordinators?  Does anyone want to work for or play for Matt Campbell?  Not as much as they want to work or play for Jim Harbaugh, even with this shitty start to the year.

Matt Campbell is clearly a good coach, but my issue with him is that if you hired him, you would be basically replacing a solid coach that can't beat his main rival and has never won anything with a less experienced solid coach who can't beat his rival and has never won anything.

IF Harbaugh leaves, we need a coach to take us over the hump from solid team to elite national title contender, and not much about Campbell suggests that he would be that, yet.

Jesus you may the most doom and gloom poster I've ever read. You must be a treat to be around. Your takes are incredibly one sided.

Campbell has beaten more top 10 teams in three years than Harbaugh has in five (#3 Oklahoma with Baker Mayfield, #4 TCU, #6 WVU). He has beaten more top 25 teams on the road while at Toledo, than Harbaugh has at Michigan.

MC is at Iowa State, the dumpster of the Big 12. Winning 8 at ISU is the equivalent to winning 10-11 at Michigan.

Do a tad bit of research. Geesh

What has Harbaugh accomplished at Michigan? Don't feed me the Stanford, or San Fran history. None of that matter at Michigan. BTW, Lovie Smith also coached in the Super Bowl. Huray!

Zero chance Bob Stoops is coming back to college football. Coaching in the XFL is way less of a commitment than coaching at a blue blood program. You have to recruit, work over donors, make sure kids go to class and not take money, and deal with media out for blood when you lose.

If Bob Stoops didn't mind that, he would still be at Oklahoma.

Not advocating for Harbaugh to go but he needs to fix this mess and fix it quickly.  Start by canning Don Brown - overrated
