USC you had one job

And you failed. So now what is your take. Great for the Big Ten, or pissed we have to share the glory with probably those guys down below Toledo. I guess I am happy for the Big 10 but I'm really kind of mad that we have four weeks of BS ahead of us.

I'm going to focus on Purdue and then I will deal with this shit. Eventually I will get over it as long as UGA wipes them out in the semis or if we beat them again. Otherwise, it was a fun week, what can I say.

LOL!!!  That narrative holds water with a close loss and no injuries.  USC had their shit force fed to them and injured their Heisman winning QB and lost the starting OC to the meat wagon.  They won't sniff they playoffs.  They'll be lucky to stay in the Top 10 after this display of ugly.

While I won’t disagree with your crude assessment of their performance, the system is broken.  I could argue that if USC was sitting home like the buckeyes, Caleb Williams wouldn’t be getting injured.  Teams are being punished for playing an extra game.  Meanwhile OSU is sitting at home, resting their players, backing into the playoffs.  Either lock the rankings after the last regular season game or get rid of the conference championship game.  Absolutely nothing good comes to a team who has to play their conference championship if they are already top 4.

Yeah, these championship games made more sense when there were two spots and you wanted a "champion" who might sway the committee because they're likely picking from a couple of teams that all look sort of alike (like this year with 3 undefeated teams).  But right now with a top 4 you've got teams like OSU who don't have to play an extra game and get guys hurt/worn out and still get all the benefits of making the playoffs.

Honestly, if UM had been in this spot subjectively I'd be happy but it would still suck.  People complain about the expanded playoffs but it'll hopefully limit this type of situation where a team loses a spot at the playoffs and another team gets it all because the first team was too good and got "rewarded" with another chance to play a top-12 team for guys in suits.

I don't disagree one bit with your (and ERDoc's) assessment.  But I do recall the entire Michigan fanbase pulling for Washington to lose the PAC12 CG in 2016.  That season, after losing to OSU, the Committee set us up to get in if UW stumbled - and the whole world knew it.  So narratives change, and this time I think its changed for the better.  Championship games are nothing more than another chance to get a season ruined after working so hard all year to begin with.

I mean in a closer loss this might have mattered. I hate to stick up for OSU but they had one very bad defensive performance against UM, USC on the other hand sucked defensively all year. Both had one loss in the regular season but this just confirms that USC is half a football team with a typical  very bad Lincoln Riley defense. Despite what UM did to them I still think OSU's defense is better than USC's.

Rubber match breaks a tie in a series. So if SC and Utah were 1-1 against each other, the third game would be the rubber match.

I think technically it should be consecutive and a series deciding game, but it can be adapted in a non consecutive series, like if UM and MSU split the season series and then meet in the bball BTT.

In baseball it’s often used in a three game regular season series if the teams split the first two games.

I'm totally OK with what happened. USC has zero D. Lincoln recruited only 1 side of the ball and it burned him tonight. BTW Utah is a lot more like UM than USC is, so the win is actually good for POWER teams with a mobile QB.

Georgia will not let Ohio have time nor place to beat them.
