Speaks to how little depth we had at CB those years.  Remember Todd Howard (converted WR)?  He was starting around that same time.  Just because he was up there on the depth chart does not make him good by Michigan standards.  He did not live up to whatever ranking he had coming out of high school.

I already got me a Courtney Avery jerz.  Although I like the idea of seeing Hayes in the Cinco.

I was curious to see if Hoke would try to break the cycle of giving duplicates of everything under #20.  But I also guess that single digits are #trendy and all that.

Love what you did there, but hated seeing the Stonum - DUI thing, as it pains me to see such talent wasted by a guy that just can't seem to keep out of trouble.  So, I reworked it:

Friday the 13th....Freaky Friday.....Lindsey Lohan.....DUI......Michael Floyd.....Notre Dame....

It is just cleaner that way.

to get a DB on our roster that wears the #2 jersey and bares some resemblance in his play to CW. I'm not asking that he be AS good as CW (that is a lot to ask), but at least be somewhat close....please!

I thought JT Turner would be the guy, but I guess I was wrong.

I think that most NFL teams would like to have a CB that is somewhat close to Charles Woodson.  I would just be happy with a good CB wearing #2 - I don't think that we will ever see a college CB as good as Charles Woodson.  The guy shut down half of the field.  He intercepted balls that even tacopants couldn't catch (as your awesome avatar pic shows).  He returned punts as good as just about anyone.  And he was a pretty damn good receiver.

"Somewhat close" to Charles Woodson is an All-America lock at corner, All-Big Ten punt returner (if there was such a thing) and also just about as good as any receiver on roster right now. Even having someone who could shut down half as much of the field as Woodson would probably net another win next year.

You're basically never going to see a CB shut down half the field anymore, and not just because Woodson was awesome, but because teams no longer send only two WRs out on passing downs.  The 1998 Rose Bowl was pretty much the only time we faced a 4-wide formation, and while Woodson covered his man like a glove, WSU still threw for 300 yards by avoiding him.  The game's changed.

I like Justice.  Hopefully he will bring the #5 back to life.

That being said, if I bought a #5 jersey because of Tate - I would probably burn it / throw it away.  Too many bad memories.  Like a girl you dated for 6 or 9 months.  The first two months she was fine as hell and it was great.  Then the crazy came out and the last few months were a nightmare.

Just let me keep rockin' my 16 jersey for the next two falls and I'll be very happy.

By the way, love the "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions" sewn into the inseam on the new jerseys (not like it's breaking news, just think it's effin awesome).

jersey that was way too small out of principle alone.  They were sold out of everything else.

I became the champion for John Navarre over his last 2 years at Michigan, as it sounds several others on this site were as well.  I wanted to fight everything: the internet, the papers, and sports talk radio.  Sonuvabitch, he's out there doing his best, chill.  Ahhhh, but I digress.

Only 4 times in the history of Michigan football have we beaten:

MSU, Minnesota, ND and OSU in the same season.

Johnny was QB for one of those 4 seasons.

It's the only single digit missing from the fleet.  Then I'll be able to effectively count to ten in maize and blue... and there's got to be some reason that I'd need to be able to do that, right?
