Which makes it all the more remarkable that the Big10 hasn't cracked down on biased officiating against Michigan (until possibly this year following the MSU shit show).  Imagine if we won had won 1-2 more games per year over the past several years because the officiating was fair.  Even more ratings!

But they actually are biased against us...

Remember a few years ago when our incredibly talented D-line was drawing statistically significantly less holding calls than the rest of the Big10 and someone published a graph showing this and suddenly we started drawing call immediately after?

Remember 2016 OSU?

Remember MSU this year?

OSU 2016 was embarrassing.  There is no logical explanation for what happened in that game except for intentionally biased/corrupt officials.  I will never believe that wasn’t an intentional screw-job.

The MSU game this year was just incompetence.  I don’t think the officials were out to get us.  They just sucked.  Bad officials tend to give more calls to the home team whoever that is.

It was actually the entire country. There was one team that was right with us in that graph and funny enough, it was Clemson. They had a really dominant line too and ACC officials were probably biased against them because of it.

Garbage if you ask me. Let the dominant dominate. Nobody should be penalized for being good.

Agree.  If you go to any B1G board, the biased officiating claims exist.  As fans, we only remember the calls that go against us.  Take a stroll through a PSU board after a loss if you have any doubts, PSU fans are constantly complaining about the darlings of the B1G (UM and OSU) getting every call and break.  And of course, the most common complaint from every fan base is the "lack of OL holding calls" against the other team. Just the way it is

....and yet somewhere, someone is probably still saying we are not relevant and have not been in quite some time.

*looks at season's rating*

"I don't know....a lot of people seem interested in what's going on in Ann Arbor now. Irrelevancy would imply that there is indifference to us, but it doesn't seem so..."

Yes!  Looking at the ratings list, Michigan obviously moves the needle, big games are what people want to see.  Michigan, Alabama, Osu, Georgia all moved the ratings needle this year.  Penn St, Oregon and Clemson were the others..  The Michigan Penn St game was the highest rated game that week in an otherwise ho-hum week of cf.

Idk about Media Markets but a ginormous alumni base and fan base is evident.  That said when the team is playing well people tune in.  When playing great and at a high level lots of cf fans tune in and in general football fans.  Michigan has large fan bases in the obvious home state but also Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin.. and as well NY/NJ and Florida/California…. Places alumnus have moved for work or came from before going to UM.

We should have our own network just like Texas, The Wolverine Network, TWN.

And we could have ex-players host cooking shows. Or maybe "Dr Hutchison" could have guest like Phil do.
