The UGH, how many games left this season and do we have a chance to win any of them, drinking thread

Submitted by ESNY on

In for two Founders IPAs since the mercy lightning delay.  Will move shortly to a couple fingers of scotch neat and pretend we didn't play today .

I drank half a magnum of Pinot Grigio as a bracer during the Iowa-Pitt game and now I've got about 10 Blue Moons in me in addition to all that, so tomorrow will suck and modding for the next few hours will suck accordingly. As for the rest of the schedule, we'll see when various predictive sites update tomorrow and on Monday, but I bet those sites hold onto a probable 8-4 or so scenario largely. Whether that is the actual season result, of course....your guess is as good as mine.

I still think we can win most of our games other than OSU and MSU.  That being said, I am miserable and hateful right now.  I did score my first breakfast stout of the season by Founders.  It is amazing no matter how bad the football team is playing.

I'm actually serious about this. Howeva, they could very well draw Arizona and yikes. RichRod could give the Woody Hayes quote on why he goes for two "because I couldn't go for two!"

who keep thinking Hoke is in for a big turn around year but this game sealed it for me.  Home game against a mid level opponent...embarassing loss again.  I appreciate our defesense trying to take the game in their own hands though, they busted hump today but just ran out of steam.

Im on the fire Hoke train now.   Dude has no clue what he is doing, the highest paid cheerleader in the history of male cheerleaders.

Also, Doug N. calls a crap game.

I love our players ...I just keep telling myself not to talk bad about them but I am struggling to hold it back

Derrick Green is scared to get hit...ok I said one thing..Im done.

..."The coaches are screwin' it up!"

Unless Hoke walks off the job tomorrow and Nussmier gets a brain all of a sudden, this program is really screwed.

I bet RichRod is laughing his ass off right now. Who won that one huh?

How about Dan Mullin from MIss St?  He has southern ties and can compete better in the SEC than we do in the B1G right now

I like Dan Mullen. He coached under Meyer when those offenses were absolutely humming. He's had some success at a perrenial doormat and he's pretty young.

It's only one game but he also has his team up 3 touchdowns with a little over a quarter to play AT LSU. Contrast that to the complete innefectiveness of the current staff on the road and I think he'd make a great hire.

Well this game really tells us nothing because it's not the Big Ten and doesn't matter. So 7-1 seems realistic to me.

Have not felt this despondent since our 3-9 year. That year we expected things to improve eventually. Now wondering with all these 4 star recruits if we can beat bottom feeding MAC teams. I think 6-6 is quite possible with a big tire fire for recruiting. Offense scoring 3 points against decent teams will do that.

It's going to get worse before it gets better. Might as well start the process now, no point in keeping Hoke if you know you're going to fire him at the endbof the season. Unfortunately I'm not even sure if we have any interim HC candidates, but anyone with a headset will be an upgrade at this point.

Drank all my coors light.  Now into the wifes wine.  Gotta keep the buzz going at all costs.

Prediction: I'm sticking with my original prediction I made early spring, 6-6.  Hoke gets one more year because Brandon, and cause there's no homerun replacements out there.

I'd like to think Northwestern, but this offense is a joke.  Against Utah and ND they've scored a whopping 3 points.  Unless the defense starts looking like the 85 Bears, this team is going to be lucky to make a bowl game.

Right now only the Wildcats is likely but lowly Northwestern has given much better teams than this one fits so...

Outside of that they may steal a couple and end up with 7 wins but the upcomming loss to MSU will as bad if not worse than last year and by Ohio State rolls around their QB will be improved. After getting absolutely destroyed by MSU and spanked by the Buckeyes this team will fly west to get slapped around in another bowl game fiasco.
