Michigan’s Special Teams room looks like a Barbershop Quartet.

AHHH FEI #1 OR BUST

A punt downed inside the five, AJ returning a punt for a TD, Kolesar blocking a punt, and Moody jussstttt missing a 62 yarder?
I say an A+ grade here.

Yeah hard to say how close the FG miss was. Thanks for nothing I guess on the no replay or mention of it again. Judging from where it was caught I'd say it went 59 - 60 yds.

From a side view inside the stadium, it didn't look that close, and we knew it was short from the top of its arc...BUT it was an insanely long attempt and probably have been good from 58 or so. Clear improvement from 2019 when Moody was well short on that 58 yard attempt against Penn State. More importantly, it was dead accurate. I'm very confident in him in any attempt under 55.

Absolutely elite. Tho I do question the rationale of putting dj turner as your return man up 45 points in the 3rd.

Blocked punt. Punt return for TD. Near miss fg from 62 yards. All other kicks made. No big returns allowed. Michigan might have the best special teams in the country. Credit to the players and Coach Jay Harbaugh.

Jay really has been a revelation. The guys he got from California went back but other than that he has been A+. Might be the coach here one day after an NFL stint.

Jaybaugh still getting Special Teams done at highest level whilst also coaching a very talented Safety room - HUZZAH!

I bet Ferentz wishes his kid could coach half as well as Harbaugh's kid.

Legit curious whose unit will score more points this year…
September 17th, 2022 at 3:35 PM ^
So the Harbaugh family can coach.
September 17th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
Missed that field goal. Sheesh…it was only a 60+ gimme…

He needs to practice more.

Jay please don't leave. We love you

Maybe I’m misremembering, but I think special teams have been consistently excellent under Harbaugh. Great showing today.

There was a certain spread formation punt vs MSU that is infamously unforgettable to my recollection at least. I did like how Jim handled that however.
This was a great showing for ST units. It is good to see Moody is human. I was beginning to wonder. This won't be his last 60+ attempt this year I bet.

An A++ as there was a blocked punt and a punt return for a TD. Moody was money as per usual. Can't ask for more than that.
September 17th, 2022 at 4:57 PM ^
Henning will cost us big at some point with his high risk/high reward style, but that was a helluva run back today. MOAR!
Moody can't hit from 62? Pathetic
Jake MF Thaw!

Jay Harbaugh is absolutely one of the very best ST coaches. They are disciplined, explosive and efficient. Great start to the season.
September 17th, 2022 at 9:33 PM ^
Savor it because I would expect he's ready for more and jumps to NFL. Can't keep someone like that at the same level for long.
September 17th, 2022 at 5:05 PM ^
Special teams looked sharp. Henning with the big punt return was awesome!
September 17th, 2022 at 5:54 PM ^
What's to say? A-plus. With bonus sartorial splendor.
FEI should give us extra points for panache and personal style.
It was so good, everyone above me gets POSBANGed.

Best in the land, bar none.

They were perfect, and they somehow topped that.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
Can definitely see it coming down to a cllutch, game winning 3 down in Cbus. Henning’s decision making is getting better, true game breaker.

I've been watching football a long time and I can't remember any team or program that was so creative from week to week on getting pressure on the punter regardless of style like Michigan. Different formations, different pressure points, the opposing punt block team is on their heels every snap and gets crossed up at least once every game, its amazing.
I almost consider it defeat if we don't block or almost block one at some point in the game.
