Parody my ass!

Well done to all who reported. They don't say what they will do next but this answers the question of whether his fake posts fall under public figure commentary.

Twitter makes us all dumber.  Not only are there fake posts, people say stuff they would never say to someone’s face, and readers regularly overreact to things sent out.  Posters get flamed for innocent statements or careless things they don’t really mean.  It’s insane.  While a lot of people use it responsibly, I sure don’t find the downside worth participating.

Twitter as a method of news curation or information distribution isn't fundamentally problematic - or at least not moreso than anything else on the internet IMO. As a way to get breaking news or real-time information it can be quite powerful and useful in some contexts.

Twitter problems aren't new or unique online. Look at Maizen. Look at the comments on YouTube Videos or MLive articles. Look at misinformation in any corner of the web. The problem is the users, same as anywhere.

We don't want to read the article or the book, we just want the headline. We don't want to understand context, we want the inflammatory quote. We think our opinions on all manner of topics of which we are under or uninformed are RIGHT and important. We're fine with disrespecting and dismissing other peoples' perspective without wanting to consider them first. Anonymity gives us armor and we will die on any hill on any topic regardless of what it is because FUCK YOU that's why.
