Death penalty for Ole Miss (hopefully).
For Tunsil, TBH if I was an NFL coach, this would give me some respect for him. You can tell his conflicted/rattled about all this, just needs to get playing football. Not to mention his crazy situation with his parents.

this will barely shudder the ncaa.
the penalty for this type of infraction:
Lose 5 scholarships for a semester. .. .
April 28th, 2016 at 10:52 PM ^
The NCAA is so mad...this penalty is really going to hurt Southern Miss.

I like how the second post of the double-post got a few likes.
Some people were like, "hell yeah, I want to see that again".
April 29th, 2016 at 11:08 AM ^
Thank God that there wasn't any extra stretching going on!!!
April 29th, 2016 at 11:33 AM ^
It's Ole Miss though so it's not some high profile team of national relevance.
Miller: "You'll never set foot on this campus again."
Tunsul: "LOL"

haha yeah sure

Laquon Treadwell
Yup. He was going to come to Michigan, but Ole Miss decided to Blue Chips him, so Treadwell went there instead.

Hugh Freeze is having a very bad day.

Obligatory....

I'm sure Ole Miss' compliance department is of the utmost competence and integrity.
While you are at it, email FIFA's compliance department too.
Emailed Ole Miss compliance and I got a return to sender email. Weird!
I love that idea, thousands of people emailing Ole Miss compliance letting them know that the emailer has evidence of a recruiting violation, and attaching the already-viral video of Tunsil admitting to taking money from a coach. Hilarious.
put some respeck on it!
More time to spend with his family
April 29th, 2016 at 11:43 AM ^
How can he also be expected to stay on top of all the payments to recruit AND current players while also spending time with his family? One or the other people, come on.
Now we know why Freeze was so against the camps....hell just stay home with my family and pay their asses to come here. JOKE!!!!
NCAA will do nothing.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:40 PM ^
I am stunned by these developments. STUNNED!
Today it pours.

This makes me feel like a kid at Christmas all over again.

Or the comments on his article/comments on Ole Miss blogs.
It's very funny to read the frustrations of a... more simple... fan base

Look on the bright side, Coach Freeze. You'll be able to spend a lot of time with your family soon

Can this day get any better?
April 28th, 2016 at 11:33 PM ^
Lions didn't draft a WR in the first round. That's gotta be a good thing.

April 28th, 2016 at 10:45 PM ^
I'm glad he took money. Glad he got drafted. The more players admit they take money the sooner it will be above the boards and the NCAA will be exposed as the joke it is.
Sankay will petition the NCAA to allow SEC kids, and only SEC kids to get paid and the NCAA will agree (of course)....but the B1G...Delaney will probably offer to help Sankay pay SEC kids and not say a word about the B1G because 'shrug..the NCAA has decided and that's good enough for me (Delaney)'
April 28th, 2016 at 10:45 PM ^
This is great news for Hugh. He's going to have a ton of free time soon to spend with his family. I for one am really happy for him!
April 28th, 2016 at 10:45 PM ^
The way the NCAA seems to normally operate, they are going to be so mad at Tulane when they come across this tweet and somehow leave Ole Miss relatively unscathed.
In all seriousness, it will be interesting to see if they do come knocking at the door of Ole Miss again, even possibly opening a branch office on their campus. They weren't using those empty cubicles in the athletic dpartment's offices anyway.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:47 PM ^
Oh for fucks sake just pay these kids. They're already getting paid for the most part. It's a traveshamockery

Everyone on this forum should be against paying students for playing varsity sports. A possible solution is revoke the scholarship and then pay the player.
Giving out a scholarship while paying a kid to play football is a slap in the face of other paying students.
April 28th, 2016 at 10:54 PM ^
How about just letting them make NIL money? Would be a free-for-all but wouldn't actually affect the other students.
April 28th, 2016 at 11:23 PM ^
No cash should be exchanged. I can't even imagine the Title IX implications this issue would bring up.
I don't think anyone would be against an athlete profiting off their name while in school. Self-serving NCAA rules that prohibit such should be changed.
On a side note: I always enjoy reading your post Stephen!

Schools, conferences and a wide range of businesses make money off of the players. Players have shown in court that they are treated more or less like employees in terms of expectations and accountability. Players absolutely deserve to be compensated in real money by the institutions profiting off of their labor.
On the out of state tuition number that keeps coming up in threads - MSRP does not equal actual value to player.
