News just broke. Where do you all think he goes and what team/coach would be the best fit for him?

I don’t know how good or bad Tua is.  This is an interesting topic though just because of his severe injury and the fact that he had college eligibility left.

Im not a football expert but I’d agree that I’m not convinced he’s a guaranteed star.  Throw his injury in the mix and he’s a huge wildcard.  If he gets taken anywhere in the first round this seems like a huge mistake given the fact that he most likely won’t play next year and at this point there are no guarantees he will ever play again.

It will be interesting to see what types of clauses are going to be put in his contract.  Will he need to play in a minimum number X of games to be able to keep his salary, etc?  I’m sure some teams are thinking he could sign a big contract with guaranteed money then retire due to hip issues and never play a game.

Rosen is the bigger bust; Hackenberg is the worst quarterback of the two.

Hackenberg was drafted in the second round and his college stats weren't as good as Rosen's. Rosen left college a year early and was drafted in the first round. At the time, I think people thought Hackenberg in the second was a stretch.

I hope he goes to the Dolphins.  They can tank one more year waiting for him to heal up, and then see where they can go in the post-Brady AFC East.

I hope this doesn't hurt Shea's draft stock .

How many starters on wild card weekend are ex Wolverines ?

The NFL was his smartest play.  He could not go back to college and risk reinjuring that hip which would end his career for sure.  He will go no later than the 3rd round based on his talent an upside, then sit out 2020 all together to learn the NFL system.  This will guarantee him a few $million and give him a chance to heal.

Can the Lions essentially draft Tua and then hold teams hostage for more picks? I.e - draft him knowing he's not in your future, but to use it as leverage for a trade. Yeah...A dick move...but... Not sure how the NFL draft rules are.

Not sure what you mean about holding teams hostage, but they can certainly draft him and then try to trade him.  That very minute, or three weeks later in the middle of the night, or whenever. There aren’t any rules prohibiting a team from trading his rights.

Yeah, you don't call a presser to announce that you're going back for your senior season. Once I heard this morning that there would be a presser, I could only assume he was going to the draft.

I can see a scenario where someone trades up to #2 (washingtons pick) to take tua, leaving chase young at #3.  I know some people argue chase didnt show up vs michigan and clemson, but if hes really on par with the bosa bros like draft analysts are saying, he would be a great pickup for the Li-downs

Lions should take Tua.  This team is not winning next year.  They need help all over the place. A LB or DL isn’t changing the situation.

Tua is a future star in the league. Stafford can be traded after the 2020 season based on salary cap fuzzy math. Draft a 15 year starter that will be a star who can make it through the regime change.
